“Hey Ina, what’s up, I wanted to check up on how things are going on there,”
She asked when Ina picked up.
“Nothing much yet but people are starting to arrive, where are you guys?”
“Still at home, the bride is not yet ready,”
“Oh, but you have to get here before time, I think the groom has arrived,”
“Alright, thanks,”
Nicole said and ended the call, why was everyone arriving so early, the wedding wasn’t until ten and it was just past eight, they still have at least two hours, Nicole walked back to Natalie ‘s room but she was nowhere to be seen, wondering where she went to, she ran downstairs looking for her, she checked their parent’s room, the guest room but she wasn’t there.
“Oh, no, this was bad, Natalie come on,”
She said running back upstairs into her sister’s room, she was there.
“What the fuck? I just came here and you weren’t here and I have been looking for you and now you are here, where did you go to?”
“To get this,”
She said pointing, showing her what she had in her hands, it was a piece of paper.
“What’s that? And what do you need it for, where did you get it from?”
“Got it from the printing machine in dad’s home office, that’s where I was, did you think I left?”
“Yes, so what’s that? We don’t have much time, your fiance is already at the chapel, and people are already there,”
Nicole announced.
“I know, but I haven’t changed my mind, I can’t do this, you have to help me,”
“I can’t help you, I am not going to do it, I have done all I could, I told you that was the last time I would do something like that for you and besides this isn’t just anything, a date? Easy, but getting married in your place is not easy, marriage is a forever thing and let’s talk about the wedding night shit, am I supposed to sleep with your fiance? Don’t say yes because I can’t do that, I am a virgin and he will find out once that I am not you, what am I even saying right now? I am not going to do it, that’s final.”
Nicole said and shit up, she was already talking like she was considering helping and that’s not what she wanted, she couldn’t help Nat in this case.
“Come on Nicole, can you please think about me? If I could do it I won’t ask you to, please, you being a virgin is not going to be a problem,”
Natalie said in response.
“What do you mean by that? God, I can’t believe I am even talking about this with you,”
“We haven’t slept together since we started dating, so he won’t know, and also you can just tell him you aren’t ready, I am sure he won’t force you, and I promise I will be back before you know it, I just need to clear my head but if none of us show up at the wedding, Rafael is going to be mad, and what if I change my mind a few days later? You can just tell him you are on your period for the wedding night,”
“I can’t do that, my period already passed,”
“But he won’t know, Nicole, please, think about my mental health,”
Natalie said in her manipulative voice that has gotten Nicole to do everything she wanted for her in the past but not now.
“What about my own mental health? Are you even thinking about that? I don’t like your fiance, he scares me and you want me to be married to him, then I will have to live as you, what about my life and my plans? While I am living as you what would you be doing with my identity? Have you ever thought about how this will affect me or are you just thinking about yourself only as always? Do you even care about me?”
Nicole yelled, tired of the whole shit, wishing Natalie would just snap out of it and be responsible for once.
“I already got plane tickets and I will leave Florida for a while until I have made a decision, if after s week I can’t still think of getting married then you can file for a divorce,”
She said.
“Why don’t you just get married and when you don’t feel the marriage you get the divorce, it’s that easy,”
Nicole fired at her.
“I can’t, I will run away at the alter, and that is not going to be cool,”
“Wait did actually say you got plane tickets or did I hear wrongly?”
Nicole asked, she just went through what Natalie had said and realized she said she was leaving Florida.
“Yes, I did,”
“Natalie , you have been planning this all along? What the fuck? Why are you doing this? You should have just called off the wedding when you found out you didn’t want to be married to him instead of doing this,”
Nicole yelled at her sister, time was going, they had less than an hour to show up at the chapel and her sister wasn’t even listening to her, she couldn’t believe her sister bought tickets in her name, talking about changing identity? Natalie was impossible.
“Yes I had it planned, it was a backup plan just in case I decided I don’t want to be married at the last moment and now it came in handy, I need to leave town for a while and cool off, I will be back before you know it, and also mom and dad will think you are me so you will get the special treatment,”
Her sister said all Nicole could think about was Natalie have lost her mind because why else would she think of doing such a thing as a backup plan and including her in the plan without her consent, she didn’t just come up with the plan but she had it all along.
“I am not going to do it.”
“You promised,”
Natalie said.
“I did? When did I promise such a thing?”
“When we were ten, we promised each other, remember Nicole?”
Nicole couldn’t believe her sister would bring up something from over sixteen years ago, a playful promise they made.
“Natalie, that was years ago and it’s not meant to be taken seriously,”
“But you promised Nicole, a promise is a promise, or our twin bond will be broken, I won’t ever forgive you,”
She threatened.
That was what they had said, if one person failed to keep the promise their twin bond will be broken…
