In fact, Flynt was actually a private detective. However, his main purpose was to expose an extramarital affair. It was nothing of the sorts of Sherlock Holmes.
Through his high magnification binoculars, he saw that Culver had bought a delicate bracelet. Nevertheless, it was hard to tell its price.
Culver did not leave the shopping mall after buying his things. He instead headed to the floor above.
Of course, Flynt followed suit.
Meanwhile, Monique, who was at the hospital, received Culver’s invitation for tea. His reason for inviting her was because they hadn’t seen each other for quite some time.
When she received the invitation, she sat in her office with her phone in her hand for a long time, stumped at how to respond.
The night before, they had only shared a brief interaction. Yet, when she had heard his masculine voice at close proximity, it affirmed her desire for him.
Letting out a long sigh, she quickly responded and accepted his invitation.
It was rather risky for a married woman to accept a private invitation from another man, Monique thought to herself.
Nevertheless, she requested a leave from Henric, informing that she had something to do and needed to be excused for a while.
She did not drive but took a cab to the shopping mall instead. Meanwhile, at the cafe, Culver chose a seat by the window.
Although it was close to the window, it was very secluded. With the bush of flowers nearby, it was hard to see him.
Evidently, his choice was made carefully with much thought. Arriving at the mall, Monique quickly marched up the stairs. At the moment, Yvonne, who was at the top floor, seemed to spot a familiar figure.
Her high heels clacked on the floor as she quickly trailed behind her and watched her entering a cafe.
She thought to herself, “Hey, shouldn’t Monique be at work at this time?”
However, her curiosity got the best of her. After all, she had nothing on her hands. That was why she was shopping alone at the mall. Therefore, it was unbelievably difficult for her to suppress her curiosity.
She cautiously approached the café. Just a few steps inside, she saw two familiar figures seated next to the orchid plant.
It proved that her vision was still clear and good. The person with her back facing Yvonne was Monique. Having been friends for so many years, she could easily recognize her just by looking at her back.
But she could not understand how Culver was sitting opposite Monique. Why would he return so quietly and mysteriously?
On top of it all, he was having a date with Monique, who was a married woman.
Yvonne suddenly felt that there was something going. If she had met them at the entrance of the hotel, things would be taken to another level. In that instant, a wonderful idea popped into her head. She thought. “Hey, this will definitely aggravate Brucille.”
Therefore, she called Brucille immediately.
“Yvonne?” answered Brucille.
“Listen, I’m going to tell you something that will affect your life, but you must promise me one thing.”
Brucille was confused. He didn’t know what she wanted to do, so he simply replied, “Just tell me what’s the matter.”
However, Yvonne would not give up.
“If you don’t promise me, I won’t tell you. But I’ll let you know, this will affect the rest of your life.”
Brucille was fed up with her childish antics. Impatiently, he relented, “Just tell me. As long as you don’t ask me to harm, kill or commit arson, I’ll agree to it.”
“I have just sent you a photo,” informed Yvonne. “I trust that you’ll understand what’s going on after seeing the photo. Since I have given it to you, it’s up to you to act.”
After Yvonne hung up, Brucille launched the application on his phone.
There were two people in the photo. Monique had her back against the camera, while Culver sat opposite her. Yvonne also specifically explained that Culver was Monique’s dream lover.
She had even revealed that they had used to be in a relationship, but it had ended because Culver had to go abroad.
Since she took the risk of losing her best friend by tipping him off, Brucille owed her a favor.
However, Yvonne did not know that Brucille had received several similar photos from Flynt, and they were taken from many angles.
In response, Brucille dialled Josephine’s number.
“Miss Hsu, you should know Culver Huo. I heard that he lives off his wife and has become rich by relying on his father-in-law…”
Josephine interrupted him and questioned, “Who are you? What are you trying to say?”
“Nothing much, really. I’m just a private detective. I found out that your husband is dating a woman behind your back, and I’ve sent the photos to your phone free of charge.”
After hanging up, a sly smile appeared on his face.
When Josephine received the photo, her pale face instantly turned red.
Furious, she entered her car and floored the accelerator of her sports car. In less than 20 minutes, she arrived at the café.
At the door, Josephine took a deep breath before she slowly stalked toward them. Facing the door, Culver spotted Josephine.
Sensing an upcoming volcanic eruption, he swept the jewellery from the table that was meant for Monique. He straightened his back and forced a smile, feigning nonchalance, “Josephine, why are you here? Let me introduce you…”
Slap!
Without warning, a loud crisp sound rang through the café.
Josephine proved her authority through her actions. “Culver, you really are getting braver. If you date another woman, do you think that I won’t find out?”
Monique came to her senses. She knew the woman in front of her was her senior schoolmate, the famous campus belle back then, Josephine Hsu.
Culver looked extremely nervous. He explained sadly, “Josephine, listen to me. It’s not what you think!”
“Don’t you forget that every achievement of yours is because of my father. How dare you date another woman behind my back? You must be tired of living!”
Josephine’s presence slapped Monique back to reality. The man in front of her was no longer the same person from the past. Suddenly, she found herself ridiculous.
She had not told him the truth of her own marriage. Therefore, how could she have the right to know if Culver was married?
At the moment, embarrassment was written all over her face. All the customers in the cafe were staring at them, obviously they thought she was a mistress.
Josephine humiliated her husband with the most unpleasant words one could form. Culver lowered his head like a frightened cat, too afraid to say a word.
Perhaps Josephine felt that insulting him was not enough, her gaze landed on Monique, who was sitting opposite him.
“Please take a good look at him, miss. He is a married man. If he leaves me, he’s nothing. Do you understand?”
