Now James lost his control. He was wondering how a girl could look so cute, he understood what was going on in her little mind.
He pulled Alexa in his arms and kissed her passionately and said, “I think now you got your answer” saying he got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom.
Alexa was still sitting dumbfounded in her place, she doesn’t know which place is this and how she ended up here and what was James doing with her.
She was looking around when all of sudden she found that she was not in her dress which she wore last night, she was wearing a long oversized white shirt.
Her face turned red when the thought crossed her mind that James might have changed her dress. She was so embarrassed, how could she be so careless.
As she was lost in thoughts, her phone rang. It was Alice’s call; she immediately picked the call, thinking that Alice must be worried as she didn’t go home last night.
She said, “Hello Mom”
Alice said in a loving tone, “Sweety, how is your headache now, bring James also for breakfast, he was really great to help to take you to his place and take care of you”
Alexa now understood what must have happened, she might have slept in his car while on the way to home and he brought her to his place, when the word ‘his place’ hit her mind she looked around.
Observing everything closely, she never visited his house since shifted out of Dylan’s house.
Not hearing any reply from Alexa’s end, Alice said, “Alexa, are you there?”
Alexa came out of her thoughts and said, “Oh! Ya, Ya Mom I will ask James to accompany us for breakfast”
After hanging up the call, Alexa thought about what she had done just now, how she can be so stupid and think that she is in heaven, she was so embarrassed.
At first, she thought she would ask James if he would like to join her family for breakfast, so she was waiting for him to come out of the bathroom, but his phone rang and the name flashed on the screen was Olivia.
She frowned but she thought not to think much about it, it could be a business call and the phone got hung up after ringing for a long time.
But after sometime it again started ringing and was again from Olivia, at that moment James came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
He walked to his phone and seeing the name on the screen, he looked at Alexa and said coldly, “you can go out I need to attend this call”
Alexa felt hurt, because of his attitude and his cold behavior. She nodded and walked out of his bedroom.
She thought that they are already engaged then why can’t he talk to Olivia, whoever she is! In front of her again the thought that he must be marrying her because of his parent’s pressure.
At first, she thought she will wait for him, but after waiting for ten minutes he didn’t come out of his room so, she, walked out of his house and booked a cab and first went to a mall to buy something to wear, as she, was wearing his shirt and she doesn’t want to go home in his dress.
Her hurt was in pain, she was stopping herself for thinking of any relation between James and Olivia, but the question her mind was countering was, ‘if there is nothing then, why can’t he talk in front of her, what took him so long to finish the call? , and many questions like these.
When Alexa entered the living room, Alice smiled and hugged her asking, “Baby, where is James, is he not joining us for breakfast”
Alexa replied, “No, Mom he got some business to do”
Alice replied, “It’s ok, come and have breakfast with us”
Alexa nodded and went to have breakfast with her parents.
Alex noticed Alexa lost in her thoughts and hardly eating anything, he asked “Al, is something bothering you sweety? Why are you not eating?”
Alexa nodded saying, “No, dad it’s nothing like that, I am good”
After breakfast, Alexa left for her bedroom.
On the other hand, when James came out of his room after completing his call, he didn’t find Alexa anywhere in the house.
He was pissed, thinking why did not wait for him? Does she hate him so much?
Alexa’s and James’s wedding was about to happen in a month, but Alexa was not happy about it, although she agreed to marry a stranger, she was sure that she will love her husband and want her husband to love her. But things turned upside down.
It’s been two weeks, and in the next two weeks they are going to get married, but James never bothered to call her or explain to her about that morning.
It was clear that he doesn’t love her and this marriage is just a forced marriage for him so he is not bothered to even give a call to his would-be wife. He loved Olivia or maybe some other girl, but not her.
Now she was suffocating thinking about all these.
There are only a few days left until the wedding, so Alex started working from home in the name of helping Alice for the marriage preparations, the fact is Alex just looks for excuses to work from home so that he can spend more time with his wife.
Today Lucas came home to discuss business with his Dad, when they were in the study room someone knocked the door and after Alex said “come in” a girl walked inside with some files and said in a business tone, “Sir, here is the file, you asked for”
Alex smiled and said, “Oh! Thanks Carol” she smiled politely and said, “If there is nothing, then I will take my leave”
