“What did you say? I go over immediately and say, “Say it again.”
Porter smiles darkly and says, “Do you think I’m really not going to leave myself an option? I can feel a little better with the Orlando family in my hands.”
“Where is he now?” I ask.
“Why should I tell you? Porter negotiates with me, “You are at odds with Isabel. If you can save me at this time, it means that you have watched us long enough to know the relationship between Isabel and me and know what she wants to do. What you want to do is not to make Isabel live well.”
Porter gradually regains his composure; his eyes are cold in the dim light.
He tries to negotiate with me.
“You are right. I’ve been watching you guys for a long time, and I know Isabel would kill you. And then I will save you. Since you know what I’m going to do, I’m not going to talk nonsense.”
“But,” I pause, “Don’t you want revenge? You’ve been lying to Isabel all these years, and you’ve been kept in the dark about everything. You’re just her pawn.”
Porter still feels hurt, but he quickly hides the pain. “I will,” he says, “I can’t make her happywill not let her have her way.
“So, shall we cooperate?” I smile.
Porter chuckles, “How much you hate Isabel?”
“I wish she is dead.” I say.
“Isabel only looks at you when she has nothing, and knows how much you mean to her. I will help you get her, and what I want is to bring her down.” I say.
Porter ponders for a long time and finally says, “Fine.”
In this warehouse, in the dark, dank warehouse, I come to terms with the man who is lost.
How lucky Isabel is to have a man who loves her so much. I can’t help sighing.
Porter takes me to see the eldest son of the Orlando family, but b. However, because of the car accident, he has lost his memory and his looks are ruined. He had plastic surgery.
He’s changed his name from Morton Orlando to Rhodes.
“He is my brother.” Porter points at him.
I am surprised. I know what Morton looked like before, but I didon’t expect such a big difference. However, I could still vaguely see the outline of his appearance.
“Where were you yesterday, Porter?” Rhodes looks at me and says, “Who is she?”
“My friend.” Porter sits down and looks carefully around. “How are you?”
“I’m fine. I’ve been working all the time. Why?”
Rhodes asks, feeling puzzled.
Porter smiles at him and says, “Nothing.”
I’m looking look at Morton Orlando. I don’t know if it’s because he’s been in a car accident and he has forgotten everything or because of other reasons, the young man looks so innocent.
After seeing Morton, I become more and more comfortable.
“What do you want to do? I ask Porter.
Porter is smoking smokes and smiles darkly. “Didn’t you say she’d have nothing but me?”
“In a few days, the Orlando Family will be having a wedding. Isabel and the master of the Orlando Family.” I say.
“Is it?” Porter looks pale. “Then destroy it.”
That’s exactly what I am thinking about.
Reveal all the things at the wedding, discredit her, and see how she gets along in the Orlando family in the future.
Things go well. This day has finally come.
I don’t know how I went through all these years. Now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
In the evening I go to pick Ella up in the kindergarten. I wait for her outside the door.
“miss Miss Carl. It’s suchWhat a coincidence.” Someone pats me on the shoulder. I look back.
James is smiling at me.
I roll my eyes at him.
“What are you doing here?” I ask, looking at him with some alarm.
I think my plan is wrong. I should get in touch with him so fast, but I am unable to resist it.
James raises his hand, and I step back and say, “What do you want?”
“There are fallen leaves on your hair.” James says, “I’ll get it for you.”
I stand still, watching James put his hand up and rub it on my head.
“Where are the fallen leaves?” I ask sullenly.
“Blown away by the wind.” James purses his lips into a snigger.
He gets away with it. I just think he’s getting more and more childish.
“James, I am not the one you are looking for. It would be better if there is no contact between us.” I turn around and look at the door. Ella is already in line.
James stands close to me. “But I just want to see you,” he says, “I think you are her.”
“I’m not a substitute!” I stare back at him. “I am who I am.”
I don’t want myself to be my own substitute.
James smiles, as if lost in memory. “She stared at me like that before. It’s very like you.”
My expression freezes on my face. It is hard to tell how I feel now.
Does he really remember me all these years? But even he loves me, I can’t forget my father’s death.
And I warn myself that I can’t fall in love with him anymore.
Ella rushes to me and I hug her. “Come here, mom will take you home.”
But Ella keeps her eyes on James. “Handsome unclemister, do you like my mother?”
Kids are always direct. James smiles happily and says, “Yes, may I?”
“Don’t talk nonsense?” I could not help scolding Ella and carrying her away.
Ella looks him in the eye and says, “You can chase my mom. I really want you to be my father, because you are very handsome. None of our children have such a handsome father like you. If you are my father, I will be very proud.”
James laughs. Listening to his laughter, I feel restless. I don’t know why I can’t keep calm when I face with James.
“Here, let me hug her.” James walks quickly and snatches Ella out of my hand. He holds Ella high and Ella screams with joy.
“Take a plane!” James holds Ella turning in a circle.
I stand aside, lost in thought.
If we are a family, wouldn’t it always be good?
I smile sadly, how could it be? If that is the case, Ella may not be born.
Ella is laughing in James’s arms, which I have never seen before.
James has a loving smile on his face.
I am the one who deprives him of the right to be a father.
I look up and see Morley standing in the distance.
He looks at us through the crowd, his eyes desertedwith his eyes filled with disappointment.
“GodfatherMorley!” Ella is the first to see him, breaking away from James and running to him.
Morley’s lonely expression is fleeting and he hugs Ella with a smile.
“MorleyGodfather, why are you here today?” Ella plays coquetry in Morley’s arms.
Morley nods gently at me and says, “I miss Ella, of course.”
James’s face turns ugly. A pair of clouded groomy eyes are fixed on Morley.
I can see the provocation in Morley’s eyes. He looks James in the eye, smiles, hugs Ella and says, “How about godfather taking you to have lunch later?”
Ella puts her arm around Morley’s neck and says, “Great!”
I seem to be hearing James gritting his teeth. I push James and say, “Why don’t you go back first?”
“What? James turns his head; his eyes are gloomy. “Say it again.”
I shrink back. “I’m not driving you away, but I think you’d better leave now.”
Morley says, “I’m here. Don’t worry.”
James licks his lips and says, “Fine, here comes the one who takes care of the kid, then. Now I have time to date you.”
I look at James in a puzzled way. James smiles and takes my hand and says to Ella, “Ella, be good. I am going to date your mother. Only in this way can I become your father as soon as possible.”
Morley freezes, “James, don’t talk nonsense in front of the kid.”
James takes my hand, and I couldn’t get rid of it. He raises my hand and shakes it in front of Morley, “I’m going after her. Didn’t you know that all the time? Besides, Ella really wants me to be her father, and you are just her godfather.”
Ella covers her eyes playfully, “It’s shyBlushy flushy! But come on, I think you can do it!”
“James, what are you doing? Stop playing around. I have to take Ella home.” I pull myself free.
But James doesn’t give me this chance and pulls me to his car.
“What are you doing? Let go of me!” He pulls me all the way, and then stuffs me into the car.
James smiles, “What do you want to eat? Or do you want to play?”
“James, I want to go home.” I say.
“Take the seat belts.” James points to the seat belt.
“James, I want to go home! Did you hear me?”
I try to get out, but the door is locked.
Morley and Ella are standing nearby.
James says, “Do you want to see Japanese food or French cuisine? I’ll take you to have dinner.”
“James, did you hear what I sayme? I’m not going anywhere!”
My heart seems to be holding a fire, how all vent out.
James edged up to me, and I am startled. “What are you doing?”
James leans close to me with a straight face and says nothing.
I am too nervous to say a word, I am so close to him, and can feel his warmth.
There is a cClick, t! The sound of a seat belt being fastened.
It turns out that he justo fastened the seat belt. I am relieved.
“You look disappointed.” James grins.
I rub my face and say, “No.”
For a moment I am so nervous that I forget to object him. I try to pull my seat belt. “I’m not going out to dinner dine with you. I’m going home.”
“You just don’t listen to meare being difficult.” “Well, I have to use some illegal tactics.”
“Huh?” I am still stunnedshocked, but James leans over again.
And he kisses me.
I am taken aback, and don’t dareIn shock, I don’t have the guts to move away.
