Since returning from the hospital, he had been waiting for Jane Gardner to reach out to him.
Now it seemed obvious that she was back and only came to Steven Irwin at the nursery, not back to him at The Shine.
“Yes, thank you for taking care of my mother all these years, when my operation is over, I will take care of her myself.” Jane Gardner, having made up her mind not to waver, did not want to be graced by Zachary Irwin again.
His love for her, his care for Lily Benz, would be something she would carry in her heart for the rest of her life.
When Zachary Irwin saw Jane Gardner’s persistence and determination, he carried Steven Irwin away and shoved her into his car, dragging her towards another car.
“Zachary Irwin, don’t you see? I don’t get pregnant easily, it was a blessing from God to have Steven back then, and the fact that I haven’t been pregnant since you found me in Laguna City until now says it all!”
Jane Gardner knew that Zachary Irwin would not agree to separate from herself, and she was convincing him, and herself, by saying this.
Zachary Irwin threw away Jane Gardner’s phone as soon as he could, he didn’t want to hear anything.
He thought that because she hadn’t mentioned separating for so long, she was willing to stay with him, to be reunited with his family.
Now it seemed that he still hadn’t changed her.
“You say you can’t conceive a second child, that’s why you strongly want to separate from me, feel your own heart and ask what it is you really want to separate from me!”
Soon, Zachary Irwin pulled up to Maravilla.
He opened the door to the room and dragged Jane Gardner inside.
“This is our wedding house, moreover, the house you lived in for three years. If you really don’t love me, don’t like me, or even hate me to the extreme that you want to separate from me, I have nothing to say. But is that what you are?”
Zachary Irwin’s words fell, and he slammed the diary in his hand onto Jane Gardner.
“Did you forget what you wrote in here a long time ago? Or, do you need me to help you remember it all over again?” As Zachary Irwin’s words fell, he tugged Jane Gardner and led her to the second floor, where their bedroom used to be.
The bedroom was still the same, the wedding photo they had taken when they were married still hung above their bed.
Everything seemed to be the same as it was eight years ago.
Everything seems to have changed again, for example, the color of the bedside table has faded a bit, the coffee table, the dresser, and a smell of obsolescence.
“You said you really wanted to be with me, to take me to work and pick me up every day.”
“You said that you want to give birth to our love crystals, you want to watch him grow, teach him to read and write, and on weekends, together with me, a family of three out for picnics and parties.”
“You also said that you have never liked anyone in your life, but you like me, you love me deeply. You don’t want to live with me for the rest of your life, but you want to grow old together and have peace in this life.”
Jane Gardner listened to Zachary Irwin’s words, and she couldn’t believe that he had recited her exact words back then.
She turned her head and averted her eyes as her fists clenched up and finally dropped.
“What you said, you forgot, but I’ve been reading it over every day for the past five years and I still haven’t forgotten it. I know you really wanted to leave me for that vow you made with Ivel Day, and I did everything I could and couldn’t do, and if you still don’t change your mind, I won’t force it.”
Zachary Irwin finished his last sentence and he smiled bitterly, “But I promise you, you will regret it!”
Jane Gardner listened to Zachary Irwin’s words and she saw him glaring at her hatefully.
She knew that he said he wouldn’t force it, but he would hate himself.
He was waiting for her to give him the answer now, to stay together, or to separate?
There was no two ways about it, someone had to compromise.
Jane Gardner looked at Zachary Irwin for a long time, and she finally rose her lips, “You hate me.”
Zachary Irwin didn’t hear Jane Gardner’s voice, but he read her lips.
He heard the final answer she gave as he turned and walked out of the bedroom, his back, looking depressed and forlorn.
Zachary Irwin, who had always been a great man in front of people, who could get the wind and the rain, finally collapsed in front of Jane Gardner.
In the whole world, she is the only one who can make him look like this in an instant.
Jane Gardner listened to the sound of Zachary Irwin’s footsteps a little far away, she finally squatted to the ground and held her head fiercely, she face, also fell into tears.
She still said, if she had to choose between Zachary Irwin and Steven Irwin, her answer would always be Steven Irwin.
She lost her own mother, she could never let Steven Irwin lose too.
She owed him this, and she should have paid him back the moment she conceived him!
Jane Gardner didn’t know how she had fled Maravilla in such a mess, all she knew was that her heart hurt so much that she didn’t want to stay a moment longer.
Not only did she not dare to stay in Maravilla, she didn’t even dare to stay in Dragon City.
After she came out of Maravilla, she went straight to Lily Benz’s side.
“Jane, I’m sorry, it’s my mother who dragged you into this.” Lily Benz saw Jane Gardner coming back covered with fatigue, and she blamed herself.
Suddenly, she didn’t want Jane Gardner to donate bone marrow, even if it didn’t do much harm to her body.
“The pre-op preparation will be done soon, and the operation will be done soon. Don’t think too much about it, you gave me life and brought me into this world, it’s only right that I do something for you.”
Jane Gardner heard that Lily Benz didn’t want to have the surgery and she wanted to say something to ease her guilt.
Lily Benz took Jane Gardner’s hand, knowing she owed her so much, “It’s all my mother’s fault, if it wasn’t for me, you couldn’t have suffered so much.”
Jane Gardner smiled indifferently, she did not suffer anything, and even if she did, everything is her own choice.
She saved Lily Benz, from beginning to end, willingly.
“You are really affectionate, mother and daughter! Should I applaud for you?” Steeply, a cold sarcasm came from the direction of the ward door.
Jane Gardner and Lily Benz heard the voice and looked back at the same time.
They saw Ron Lee following a woman in her early sixties who, despite her age, was heavily made-up and smelled strongly of perfume.
“Who are you?” Lily Benz saw the visitor and she didn’t feel good.
“You’ve given birth to my husband’s sinful children for decades, and you still don’t know who I am, which, come to think of it, is ridiculous!” Vivian Walker, Ron Lee’s real mother and Ross Lee’s original wife, walked into the ward carrying a luxurious handbag.
She swept around the ward with a frown of dislike for it.
Jane Gardner heard Vivian Walker say this and knew she was Ron Lee’s mother.
She stepped forward and shielded Lily Benz’s side, “What are you doing here? You are not welcome here!”
When Vivian Walker heard Jane Gardner play out the words she wrote, she raised her eyebrows and her eyes became even more contemptuous, “So it’s a mute! Lily Benz, I thought the daughter of the once famous radio star was so beautiful, but I never thought that she was a cripple!”
Vivian Walker heard Ron Lee tell her that Lily Benz and Jane Gardner were found, but time was of the essence and she didn’t know that Jane Gardner couldn’t speak.
Now that she knows, she’s nothing but happy.
Only, happy in the midst of a ruthless energy!
