Taking herself away from the boy’s drama, Hazel decided to spend some time with Jan. It seems like their friendship had been taking the backseat ever since they both had boyfriends though not at the same time. But they never drifted apart. They don’t spend as much time with each other didn’t make them any less than best friends.
It was a bit of a surprise for Hazel that Jan has got herself a new boyfriend and she didn’t know anything about it until that day. Had she been so preoccupied with her own boys’ drama that she had lost touch with Jan?
“You know Finn, right? He hangs out with Marlon at school all the time,” Jan said while scooping her double chocolate sundae.
“Finn McRaney? Senior? The one with nose piercing?”
Jan nodded with a smirk on her face.
“Not baaad …” Hazel nodded along and took a sip of her milkshake.
Jan had been hanging out with the popular kids lately, she had joined one of the school clubs where most of the members were the cool kids. They were in charge of school events, and other seasonal entertainment where they organize the venues, the decorations, the artist to invite and so on.
Jan giggled in excitement, “And … he has a birthmark near his crotch.”
Hazel’s mouth dropped open, “You’ve done it with him?”
Jan nodded and laughing uncontrollably with her hands on her stomach.
“You slut! How long have you been with this guy? How come I only found out now?”
“Actually … it was kind of ‘in the moment’ thing, we were working on a project together, we’ve been flirting non-stop since we started and then … we had this assignment just the two of us … one thing led to another and …” she laughed again.
“Oh wow … so you guys did it first and then what? Did he say … do you wanna be my girlfriend or something like that?”
Jan shrugged, “It was kind of a given don’t you think? You sleep with someone and that makes you a couple? We’ve been seeing each other ever since, I mean, we’ve been doing it over and over again … I really like him, and the sex is so much better than with Kyle,” she giggled.
Hazel giggled with her, “Really? Maybe because Kyle was your first? You’re using protection, right?”
“Of course, I’ve been careful now, are you using protection?” Jan smiled cheekily.
Hazel rolled her eyes, “I don’t know how many times we were about to do it and got interrupted … and the last time he was upset with me and dropped me home instead of going back to his house to do it … I don’t think we have any other chance to do it.”
“You haven’t done it? Oh my God, I thought you’d be doing it like rabbits by now,” Jan laughed. “Why don’t you just do a quicky at the parking lot? A lot of people do it like that, quick and simple.”
Hazel looked at Jan with a grimace, “What? No … it’s my first, I want it to be special, who does it in the car?”
“A lot of people Princess, don’t you listen to those songs about losing your virginity in the back seat of the car in high school?” Jan teased her.
She leaned back on the chair and sighed, she shook her head, “No … that would be weird, not for my first time … I want it to be somewhere private, where no one can interrupt us, maybe some music in the background, candle lights, you know? Something romantic.”
Jan groaned, “Girl … you’re going to be a virgin for a long time, honey, what high school guy would do that just to bang a girl? They don’t last very long you know? Ten minutes tops? Who would go through that length for a 10 minute pleasure?”
Hazel folded her arms in front of her, “Lee would … if I ask him to …” her expression turned somber. “He really is that nice, you know?”
Jan frowned, “Aw … that’s so sweet … well you should ask him then.”
She shook her head and bit her lower lip, “I don’t think he can do it now, his schedule leading up to Saturday is absolutely crazy.”
“So … does that mean you’ll never going to do it with him?”
“You know what Marlon said?” she scoffed, “He said that he thinks I don’t really want to do it with Lee … because we would’ve done it by now if I do … can you believe him?”
Jan raised her brow and pursed her lips, “Marlon knows? What else did he say?”
“He said that if I have doubts I shouldn’t do it.”
“Do you? Have doubts?”
Hazel shrugged, “I don’t know … I was sure when we were together, you know, doing everything else leading up to it … but then we got interrupted and it feels like I have to make a decision all over again whether I want to do it or not … but I do … I want to …”
“But not with Lee?”
“Who else would I be doing it with? Lee’s a perfect candidate don’t you think?”
“I wouldn’t know about perfect,” Jan said, “He is your first boyfriend … I didn’t do it with my first, Kyle was my third boyfriend, but then again … I didn’t have the kind of relationship that you guys have … I guess it’s different for everyone … but I tend to agree with Marlon, if you have doubts, you shouldn’t do it for the sake of losing it with your first boyfriend … you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do that … there’s no rush really.”
Hazel fell silent for a moment. “I guess you’re right …” she raised her shoulders, “If it happens, it happens, right? It should come naturally.”
“Right …” Jan nodded, “Though candle lights and background music might need a little planning beforehand,” she teased her. They laughed.
“Enough about me, what about you, tell me more about this Finn … how long have you been together? What is he like?”
“In bed?”
Hazel threw a napkin at Jan, “No, silly, how is he like in person? What’s his hobby? What does he like to do when he’s not in school?”
Jan furrowed her brows, “Gosh … I don’t really know …” she laughed, “Come to think about it … we don’t really talk much, the sexual tension between us is really strong … I’ve never felt like this before with anyone.”
“Oh my God,” Hazel giggled, “Some couples are like that … but I think you should take time to talk and find out how he really is without the sex … you know? And at least have an understanding that you guys are in fact exclusive … some guys don’t take relationships seriously, I mean look at Marlon … he sleeps with girls and never admit that he was having a relationship with them.”
“Really? He told you that?”
“Yeah … he said he never had a girlfriend … but I’m pretty sure he’s sleeping with all of them,” Hazel raised her brows.
“Maybe we should have a double date or something like that? So we can have a decent conversation, ’cause every time we go out on a date just the two of us, we always end up shacking somewhere … not much conversation there,” Jan scratched the back of her head.
“Sure … I’ll see if Lee can clear his schedule for a date this week.”
