Claudia POV
This can’t be; how can Amelia be pregnant for the boss? No, I can’t let this happen. I can’t let her give birth to those children, or else everything is over, and Liam won’t be mine.
“Hello,” Claudia dialed a number with murder on her mind.
“I have a job for you, and this time you can’t mess up,” Claudia tells the person on the line.
“Amelia, I promise you, your end is near,” Claudia smirks.
Liam organized a party to announce the good news of his babies’ arrival and also proposed to Amelia at the party.
“I can’t wait for tonight,” Liam tells Elliot.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see you on your knees saying, ‘Will you marry me?'” Elliot mocked, making Liam playfully hit him with a pillow.
“Will you marry me?” Elliot continued teasing Liam as he chased him with a pillow.
Elliot ran fast as Liam chased him from behind, and he threw the pillow at Elliot, but he dodged it, causing it to hit Amelia from behind.
“Hey, be careful!” Amelia yelled at him.
“Are you okay?” Elliot asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Amelia muttered.
“I’m not talking about you; I’m talking about my niece and nephew,” Elliot said, making Liam hold him from behind and ruffling his hair.
“How do you know it is a girl and a boy?” Amelia asked Elliot.
“I just guessed. I mean, a cute girl for you and a cute boy for me,” Elliot uttered, making Liam pretend to strangle him from behind.
“What about me, you maniac? They are my babies, after all,” Liam said while playfully holding Elliot’s neck.
“We wouldn’t want the babies to resemble their father,” Elliot teased, and Liam pretended to choke him more.
“I’m gonna kill you,” Liam pretended to choke him even harder.
“I’m too hot to die,” Elliot playfully pleaded.
“Let him be, Liam,” Amelia told Liam, making him release Elliot.
“Anyway, get ready. We are going shopping for tonight’s party,” Liam informed Amelia.
“Do we have to? I mean, I can just wear a dress I already have,” Amelia whined.
“Just go with him, Amelia. He wants to buy a special dress for you as tonight, he planned something special,” Elliot announced before running out.
“You!” Liam yelled, but Elliot was already gone.
“Something special, hmm?” Amelia grinned, making Liam gulp.
“Dude is high; he doesn’t know what he’s saying,” Liam nervously laughed.
“Okay, I’ll go get ready,” Amelia said before leaving.
“That was close,” Liam breathed out.
Nighttime
Everyone was at the party, and the place was beautifully decorated. Amelia came downstairs with Liam, holding hands, as the spotlight shone on them, and the crowd cheered as they made their way down.
Claudia frowned upon seeing them coming down, and what made her even angrier was Amelia’s belly, as the cloth she was wearing showed it clearly.
“They look so good together. She is so beautiful,” a person complimented Amelia beside Claudia, making her furious.
“Don’t you people have better things to do?” Claudia snapped at them before walking away angrily.
“What’s wrong with her?” The woman hissed at her people, engaging with her friends in conversation.
Claudia walked towards the back of the hall and called the man she hired to kill Amelia.
“Make sure you don’t make any mistakes,” Claudia warned before hanging up the call.
In the hall, everyone was discussing with each other. Amelia came to greet Laila and the others happily, and they all congratulated her on becoming a mother soon.
Suddenly, the lights went off and came back on with a projector screen showing Amelia’s pictures and happy moments with Liam, which captured everyone’s attention.
Liam emerged from behind the screen and said a few heartwarming words to Amelia, which made her tear up.
“I just want to say that without you in my life, my life has no meaning,” Liam uttered.
“Aww,” Laila whined while shaking Amelia happily.
“This is so beautiful,” Nina confessed while crying.
“Will you marry me and make me the happiest man on earth?” Liam uttered on his knees, making Amelia’s eyes widen with excitement as the spotlight focused on her.
“Say yes!” The crowd chanted, pushing Amelia towards the stage.
Liam reached out for her, and she placed her hand in his.
“Will you marry me?” Liam said, revealing the diamond ring.
“Yes,” Amelia agreed, and he put the ring on her finger as jubilation filled the room.
“And I’d like to announce the coming of our babies,” Liam announced, making the crowd’s jubilation grow louder.
“Hey!” A guy shouted from behind, making the crowd go silent and creating a clear path.
A man was standing there with a gun aimed at Amelia, making everyone gasp, and suddenly the lights went off and on again. Amelia was held at gunpoint.
“I have something to announce: today is the last day on earth for you,” the masked man said, pointing the gun at Amelia’s forehead.
“What the heck? Don’t you dare do anything to her!” Liam yelled, trying to run towards them, but the man pointed the gun at Liam, making him stop in his tracks.
“Don’t do anything stupid, or else I will kill her,” he threatened, pointing the gun at Amelia’s head again.
“Don’t do anything to her. Look, I’m standing still,” Liam noticed Elliot coming close to the guy.
“Good, now…” Before the guy could say anything, Elliot snatched the gun from his hand, pointing it at him.
“Hey!” The guy was cut off by Elliot, who knocked him out with the gun, making him stumble to the ground.
Amelia immediately ran to Liam, who embraced her, and seconds later, the police officers arrived and took the guy away.
Claudia POV
Oh my goodness, I have never seen a bigger fool in my life. He totally messed up the whole plan. I have to do something because I can’t let Amelia live for a second longer.
Claudia left the party when no one was looking.
“Are you okay?” Liam asked Amelia.
“Yes,” Amelia said.
Everyone was at the party, enjoying themselves when Claudia walked up to Amelia, telling her she wanted to talk to her.
“I’ll be back, guys,” Amelia told the guests she was talking to before following Claudia.
“What do you want to talk about, Claudia?” Amelia asked.
“Not here, follow me, please,” Claudia pleaded, and Amelia nodded.
Claudia took Amelia to the rooftop, which made Amelia confused.
“What are we doing here, and what do you want to talk about?” Amelia turned to look at Claudia and gasped when she saw her pointing a gun at her.
“I warned you, didn’t I, but you didn’t listen,” Claudia frowned, setting the gun.
“What do you think you are doing, Claudia?” Amelia tried to walk away.
“Don’t you dare move, or else. I’m only doing what that idiot couldn’t do,” Claudia confessed.
“That means you are…”
“Yes, Amelia, I was the one who sent that guy to kill you,” Claudia concluded Amelia’s doubts.
“Why, Claudia? What did I ever do to you?” Amelia cried out, feeling emotional because of her state.
“Oh, shut up! You took Liam away from me,” Claudia frowned.
“And now you are carrying his babies,” she added, pointing the gun at Amelia’s stomach.
“Please don’t harm my babies,” Amelia pleaded while holding her stomach.
“I’m going to kill you and your baby today,” Claudia said, ready to pull the trigger when the rooftop door opened.
“What do you think you are doing, Claudia!” a voice yelled from behind, making them turn to see Liam, Elliot, and Laila.
“I told you guys she was up to something,” Laila tells Liam.
“Put the gun down, Claudia,” Liam ordered as she was still pointing it at Amelia.
“Why should I, huh?” Claudia uttered.
“So you don’t get to spend the rest of your life in jail,” Elliot answered from behind.
“Oh, shut up!” Claudia yelled at him.
“Why are you doing this?” Liam asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m doing this so we can be together,” Claudia said while laughing.
“She is getting in the way of us being together,” she said, pointing the gun at Amelia, who flinched.
“What?” Liam was beyond confused.
“I love you so much, Liam, but you didn’t seem to notice me as you were too busy gawking at this lady,” Claudia pulled Amelia towards her, pointing the gun at her forehead while stepping back.
“What? Don’t do anything stupid!” Liam yelled as they were at the end of the cliff.
“Please, just notice me,” Claudia begged.
“This is just so sad,” Laila muttered from behind.
“And pathetic,” Elliot added.
Claudia and Amelia were now at the end of the rooftop. Amelia looked down to see the daunting height, making her gulp.
“Stay right there, Liam, or I will push her off the cliff,” Claudia threatened, making Liam stop in his tracks.
“Please don’t do this,” Liam begged.
“Why don’t you love me?” Claudia cried out.
“Because you are a maniac!” Liam unconsciously blurted out as he couldn’t hold it back.
“I’m a maniac because of you, Liam. Do you know how many people I had killed just for you?” Claudia’s confession made everyone exchange glances.
“I killed a nurse, goons, oh, and even our dear Miss Cynthia’s husband,” Claudia said…
“You see, Liam, I have done a lot just so you could notice me, but no, you still choose her over me,” Claudia held onto Amelia tightly.
Elliot tried walking towards Claudia slowly, but she saw him and pointed the gun at his direction.
“Don’t try to be the hero,” she warned, pointing the gun at him.
“If I don’t, who will be?” Elliot chuckled while walking closer towards them.
“I’m warning you, stay back,” Claudia threatened, pointing the gun at him, but he was unfazed by her threats as he kept coming closer.
“I warned you,” Claudia said, pulling the trigger and firing at Elliot right in the chest.
“Elliot!” Liam yelled before running towards him and catching him before he could fall to the ground.
“Elliot, please don’t do this to me,” Liam begged while tapping his cheek.
“Will you stop… hitting me so hard,” Elliot coughed out blood while smiling.
“I’m sorry; you’re going to be okay,” Liam assured him, trying to keep him awake.
“It’s too late for me, Liam. Take care of Amelia and my niece and nephew for me,” Elliot uttered while coughing.
“Please don’t do this, Elliot,” Liam pleaded.
“Goodbye, Liam. I will always love you,” Elliot grinned before his eyes closed slowly.
“Elliot!” Liam yelled before turning to look at Claudia with rage.
“I warned him not to come close,” she tried justifying herself.
“You, witch!” Laila yelled from behind, hitting Claudia on the head with a stick, making her drop the gun down the cliff.
Amelia took the opportunity to push her to the ground before running to Liam.
“We have to call the ambulance,” Amelia told Liam on seeing Elliot on the ground.
Amelia took out her phone and dialed the ambulance immediately. Laila dragged Claudia by the hair before punching her hard on the nose.
“All because you wanted to be with the boss, you took Miss Cynthia’s happiness away!” Laila yelled, throwing another punch at Claudia.
“Arghh!” Claudia pushed Laila away from her.
She took the stick and wanted to hit Laila, but Laila held it, and they started fighting for it near the rooftop.
“We need to stop them,” Amelia told Liam, seeing the state they were in.
“Stay here; I will go stop them,” Liam said before going towards Laila and Claudia.
Claudia was about to push Laila off the roof when Liam held Laila, drawing her back from the edge, leaving Claudia devastated.
“Liam, I…” Claudia couldn’t finish her sentence when Laila used her leg to push her off the roof, making Amelia’s eyes widen.
“That’s what she gets for killing Miss Cynthia’s happiness and this joyous occasion,” Laila blurted out, looking at Claudia’s lifeless body soaked in her own blood from above.
The ambulance came, taking Elliot away, and Claudia was confirmed dead.
One year later, Amelia gave birth to a boy and a girl. She found out about Liam’s heart problems and told him to undergo the heart transplant, which went successfully.
He found out the donor was his mother, as she had already put her organs out before she died, which made Liam weep badly.
He couldn’t help but tear up anytime he remembered his mother’s heart was in him, but he was happy he still had a part of her with him.
Everyone was at a party, making a toast to Laila and Mike, who were about to get married soon.
They were all chatting with each other when a voice said from behind, “Hey, guys.”
“You are late,” Laila yelled at the person.
“As usual,” Liam scoffed, glaring at Elliot, who had a grin on his face.
“Missed me?” Elliot said, grabbing a drink.
“You wished,” Liam scoffed, ruffling his hair.
Miss Cynthia gave a heartfelt speech, and everyone did the same for Laila and Mike.
“A toast to Laila and Mike,” Miss Cynthia said, raising her glass, and everyone joined in.
“Cheers,” everyone yelled in unison while laughing.
