Chapter 68

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

Alicia POV
I know things can suddenly turn around, crazy things suddenly happen sometimes, but one thing I could never have imagined in my life, was Ariel turning out to be Mr. Daniel’s biological daughter. I have been finding it difficult to believe, and to think that they turned against me and fought for her makes me feel so horrible. I know I don’t belong here, I have been an imposter hiding under the guise of being an orphan, but I didn’t deserve any of the treatment, right?
As I drive back to my hotel room where I’m staying, I just feel like running into a truck and ending everything right away. I feel so miserable to the point of thinking of suicide, but on second thought, I feel like it’s really not the best thing to do. Not at this point that I’m on the verge of getting what I want. Yes, I’m going to settle down with the man I love, and that is all that matters to me.
As I pull over at the side of the road, tired of driving, I reach out for my phone and dial Alex’s number, waiting for him to answer the phone. It’s not that I have something to discuss with him, I just want to vent out my pain, since he is the only one that will ever listen to me. He is the only one that ever loved me, anyway.
“Shit!” I curse under my breath and drop the phone on the passenger seat when his line went through and he didn’t answer the phone. I guess he must be busy, or something of such.
Taking a deep breath, I rest my head on the headrest as many thoughts linger in my mind, and I still feel so crazy that Ariel is… I can’t even imagine it.
I finally start the car and drive away. I notice a car following me once I drive halfway, and my heart skips a beat. I have taken the last turn to the park since I changed my mind and decided to go out and clear my head. Now, I regret not heading straight to the hotel, and coming here to chill.
The car kept following me until I arrive at the park where I’m almost the single person around here. It’s almost 8pm, and since it’s also Sunday, many people would be indoors by now. I shouldn’t have come out here in the first place.
I pull over at the spot where I usually park my car whenever I come to the park, scared of stepping out, and scared of driving back, because the car that was following me was already parked behind me, and I can only go farther.
Just when I’m trying to gather the courage to leave the car and go ask the person why he or she was following me, my heart misses a beat when a knock sounds on my window, and I tilt my head to find a man towering over my window. I feel my heart freeze on the spot, and I quickly lock the door from the inside, scared of opening up for the person.
My hands tremble as I reach out for my phone and quickly dial Alex’s number for the second time, but still got the same reply. Where the hell is he that he is not picking up my calls when I need him the most now?
‘Someone is following me, Alex. Please come to the T&B park, please’ I type the message in my phone and click on the send icon, praying fervently that he sees the message and come to my rescue, but I feel my hope shattered when the message bounced back and tells me that he is not available.
“Shit!” I curse under my breath as I drop the phone on the seat, running my fingers through my hair again as I try to think of what to do. I turn my gaze to find the person still towering over the window, probably trying to get a glimpse of me since the glass is tinted, which I’m grateful to. Who knows, maybe he would’ve gotten me out already if the windows are not tinted.
My heart sinks into my stomach when he suddenly starts trying to open the door. My blood suddenly went cold, and beads of sweat formed on my forehead as my whole body tremble fearfully. Is this how I’m going to die here? I ask myself. The thought of winding down the glass and screaming out for help strikes my mind, but fuck! That has to be the dumbest thing I can think of at this moment. That will only make him get me without even trying.
“What do you want from me? Get away from me!” I yell at the top of my voice as if he will hear me. The glass is wined up and tinted for fuck’s sake, so there’s no way he will ever hear me.
I flinch when I see him pull away and bring his phone out of his pocket.
“Wait… Is he calling his minions?” I mumble as my eyes slowly narrow in shock. The urge to open the door and beg for my life surged through me, but how sure I am that he won’t kill me for trying to run away from him?
Still trying to get my sense to work, my phone suddenly starts buzzing, and I quickly reach out for it. I freeze on the seat when I see my supposed biological dad’s number displayed on the screen. The man that has been blackmailing me… The one I have never once met in my life. Slowly, I turn my gaze to check if he is the same person outside, and the sight that welcomes me only explains exactly what I want to know. He is standing there and staring at me from outside with a smirk dancing at the corner of his lips, as he holds the screen of his phone toward the car, showing me the screen that he is really the one.
The fear I have been feeling moments ago slowly dissipates, replaced with rage and disgust. Without thinking twice, I push the door open and jump out of the car.
“Now, you are here. I thought you weren’t going to ever come out. I should’ve shown you who I am from the onset,” Although his face has changed slightly, his voice is still the same as years ago when I was still living with him. I can barely recognize him as my dad, but I can spot the resemblance between us. How the hell could I resemble this monster standing in front of me?
“So, it’s really you, yeah?” I scoff angrily as I tilt my head sideways, trying to calm myself down, because I may end up knocking his head off his neck if care is not taken.
“Come on, sweetheart… That is not how you should react after seeing your dad for the first time in ten years… Or is it twelve?” He frowns his face slightly, but it only lasted for seconds before an evil smirk finds its way to his face.
“What do you want from me?” I ask him between gritted teeth, and he shrugs.
“You know what I want, Jessica… Or should I say Alicia?” He utters and giggles afterward. Yes, my name was Jessica, but Mr. Daniel changed it for me after I started living as his daughter. I didn’t want anything that would remind me of this disgusting man standing in front of me, so I asked him to change my name for me, which he agreed to without hesitation.
“Stay away from me, Dennis! Just fucking leave me the hell alone!” I yell at him as I point my index finger at him, and he scoffs.
“I must confess that I really love the guts of my beloved daughter. If you are like this, I would doubt if you are my child…” He pauses and raises his eyebrows.
“Just fucking tell me what you want from me!” I yell at him for the second time.
“Kill your foster father and his family… I want you to claim all of his properties, kill him, and hand everything over to me,” He utters, and I step back as my heart sinks into my stomach.
“What!” I blink my eyes rapidly.
“You have just two weeks to do that. You wouldn’t like what will happen later if you decide to disobey me,” He utters before he turns and walks back to his car, and all I can do is watch him in shock. What the hell just happened?
