Chapter 41

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

Ariel POV
‘Let’s get married’ I giggle softly and dance in the bathroom as I recall his words. I have never thought of getting married to Max, but now that he asked me to, I am more than willing to, because why not? I mean, I have every right to marry him, right?
He promised to take us to the marriage registry in a few days so we will get our marriage certificate, and be legally married.
‘Can we keep this a secret, please?’ He asked me after our discussion, and I assured him. I even love it that way. I want it to shock everyone later that I’m now married to my baby daddy.
As I walk back into my room later, I stop on my track when I find Alicia sitting on my bed. I gulp down nothing while wondering what she’s doing in my room.
“You’ve been having a good time with my husband, haven’t you?” She scoffs as she stands up and crosses her arms on her chest.
“No, I’ve not,” I reply to her, making that scared face as usual, because why not? I don’t want to raise an alarm or make her suspect anything yet. I want to strike her so hard when she least expects it.
“Do you know how much I hate you?” She asks as she stares into my eyes.
“No, I don’t,” I shake my head, even if I want to scream at her and tell her how much I hate her more. I wonder how she will feel when she finds out that I will be getting married to her husband. It’ll really drive her crazy, I bet.
“Can you just disappear? Just go to hell, or die instead. That way, I won’t ever get to see your face again,” She grits her teeth, picking her words one after the other, probably to let me know how much she’s disgusted by my presence but has it occurred to her that I don’t really care?
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think that will happen. I will do something else if you ask me to,” I reply to her politely, and she scoffs.
“I just want you to disappear,” She snaps at me, and I scoff.
“Why are you angry? Because your husband likes me now? Are you scared he would leave you for me?” I smirk at her, and she sends a hot slap across my face when I least expected it.
“How dare you! You are just a breeder, have you forgotten that?” She screams at me, letting out all her anger now, just the way I want it.
“Yes, I am… Is that why it hurts that your husband now loves an ordinary breeder more than he does to you?” The goal is to get her pissed, and it’s working now.
“You!” She charges at me, but I step away from her. I can’t afford her to hurt my baby.
“Do you want to hit me? How do you think your husband will look at you if he finds out you try to hurt his beloved baby mama?” I smirk at her, and she scoffs angrily, her eyes burning in rage.
“Does it look like I care about how he feels? I don’t give a damn about anything!” She screams at me, and I sigh briefly.
“I hate you all. Max, you, I hate you all!” She screams for the second time, and I sigh briefly. I know this is not right, but I don’t have a choice.
“I am going to make sure that you leave this house, and that will be soon,” She rambles on before she pulls the door open and storms out of my room, slamming the door hard behind her.
“How will you feel if you were the one, Ariel? Do you enjoy seeing her in this state? What if Max did this to you later after he marries you? Will you be happy?” My subconscious mind asks me, and I sigh briefly as I slump onto the bed. I still have some conscience left in me, but I need to be bad here if I really want to get what I want. Life is not always fair to people, and I have been one of the victims of the unfairness of life.
Pushing all the thoughts to the back of my mind, I lay on the bed and stare at the ceiling as I space out in thoughts until my eyes feel heavy, and I give in to sleep.
The sound of my ringing phone pulls me out of my deep slumber, and I force my eyes open as the realization dawn on me that it’s morning already.
“Hello!” I say on the phone lazily once I answer the call without bothering to check who the caller was.
“Are you free tonight? A friend of mine is doing a birthday party, and I was thinking we could go together,” Alex’s voice sounds from the other end, and I groan tiredly as I sit up on the bed.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think that is going to work,” I reply to him as I finally stand up from the bed and drag myself sluggishly into the bathroom to wash my face.
“Why?” He asks, and I sigh briefly.
“I have a date with my boyfriend tonight,” I reply to him and hang up before he can say anything again. I’m not interested in going out, or anything.
I stare at my reflection, and as yesterday’s words replay in my head, I blush hard and giggle.
Just when I’m about to wash my face, I stop abruptly as I feel my abdomen tightens, and it only takes another five seconds before the pain came hitting at me again. My legs wobble as I stand rooted to the spot, not able to move.
“Ah!” I cry out painfully as I manage to hold the bathtub and lean over it, trying so hard to take the pain in, but it only gets worsen. I feel like my abdomen is set on fire, and beads of sweat suddenly form on my forehead.
Hot tears pour down my cheeks as I keep groaning, unable to move my legs again. The doctor gave me some medicines to take whenever the pain came, but they are inside my room, and I can’t even go back in.
Recalling that I have my phone with me, I manage to search for Max’s number, and I dial it. He picks on the first ring, but I only scream and the phone falls from my hand.
“Ariel… Are you ok? Hello… Hello…” I hear him call me, but I can’t even open my mouth to talk.
Barely ten seconds later, I hear my door burst open outside, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me that he’s already in my room.
“Ariel… Ariel…” I hear him calling my name, but I can’t even answer him, and just like that, the pain finally relieve me, but my vision suddenly went blank, and that is all I remembered.
“Are you awake?” I have no idea how long I’d been unconscious, but as I open my eyes, I find Max towering over me with a worried look on his. My vision finally becomes clear, and the realization dawn on me that I’m on the hospital bed.
“Are you ok? Do you need me to call the doctor? How are you feeling now?” He bombards me with questions, and I sigh weakly. I feel excited that he’s by my side. Nothing is more satisfying than that.
“Hmm. I’m fine now,” I slowly nod my head, and he sighs briefly.
“Why didn’t you tell me what the doctor said?” He asks after a long silence, and I bite my bottom lip. He already found out about it.
“Do you want to hurt yourself? Why didn’t you tell me?” He asks me calmly as he takes my hand, and stares into my eyes intensely, and I gulp down nothing as I feel my heart hammer against my chest…
