Alicia POV
“I told you to be careful with it, how could you have done this?” Mr. Dante yells at me as he grabs the flower vase from the pillar and smashes it on the ground, and I flinch fearfully as tears stream down my cheeks.
“Why the hell didn’t you take the pill? I told you to never make the mistake of getting pregnant for him no matter what happened, why the hell did you do this?” He screams again, and I gulp down the sudden lump that forms in my throat. How this man dare scold me now when he was the one that lured me into doing that is really crazy. How could he even think of scolding me? Yes, I want to scream at him and tell him how much I hate him for making me do this, but that is not the best thing to do now. I need him to help me talk to Alex. I can’t lose him.
“I know I messed up, Sir… But can you please help me talk to Alex? I don’t know what’s going to happen. I can get rid of the baby without a trace if he wants me to. I don’t want to lose him, please. I love Alex,” I cry as I fall to my knees, but he only turns his face away disappointedly.
“You should get going now. I will see what I can do about it. For now, you have to keep acting like nothing happen, ok?” He utters as he squats in front of me and cups my cheeks in his palms, while I slowly nod my head, hoping that I get a good reply later.
I finally leave his house and drive back home, and by the time I get home, I fume when I spot Max’s car in the parking lot. The thought of seeing him when I go inside makes me want to scream at the top of my voice, because why not? I hate him so much with everything in me, so how the hell am I supposed to enjoy his presence?
I take a deep breath once I get to the entrance door, and I push the door open before I walk in to see him sitting in the living room, staring at the screen of his phone.
I comport myself before I walk in, and head to the staircase acting like he wasn’t even there.
“Where have you been, Alicia?” I stop on my track when I hear his voice, and I slowly clench my fists angrily. If he only he knows the amount of hatred embedded in my heart for him, I’m sure he wouldn’t even think of talking to me.
“Why are you asking?” I turn to face him as I raise my eyebrows, and he sighs briefly.
“Have you been crying, Alicia?” It’s crazy how he still manages to give me that look when the one he loves now is that bitch, but not that I care who he loves anyway.
“Why should I be crying? Because you’re cheating on me with that bitch? Of course not… I have no reason to cry over a cheat,” I reply to him before I head to the staircase and proceed to my room upstairs.
I break down in tears as soon as I walk inside my room. I can’t deny that I’m scared. What if Alex made up his mind to never have anything to do with me again? Where the hell would I start? How will I be able to move on without him? Those are the questions I keep asking myself and couldn’t even come up with an answer to.
I finally stand up to my feet and walk into the bathroom. I think I need to do something… I just need to make this fast enough so I can get out of here.
I have a quick bath and walk back into my room afterward, but I find my phone screen light on. I quickly pick it up and check the message that just popped in, and it’s from Alex.
My heart wavers in excitement as I open the message, and seeing that he’s requesting to see me tonight, I can’t help but ask myself if his dad already spoke with him.
‘Alright. I will meet you later’ I reply to his message, feeling much better now.
The rest of the day was filled with me looking forward to the evening so I could go and meet him. The time finally came, and I left the house without even telling Max where I was going.
“Where are you heading this late, Alicia?” He had asked me when I was about to leave, but I only told him he had no right to ask me since he has decided to cheat on me with Ariel. This turned out to be a really good excuse to do whatever I want and still make him feel guilty now, right? That is how smart I am.
The drive to the hotel he asked me to meet him was long, but I arrived in no time since I was speeding on my way here, because why not?
I finally arrive at the hotel, and the receptionist led me to his room.
I place a knock on the door, and it opens, revealing the handsome man that captured my heart for years now.
“Come inside,” He gives me a welcoming smile, which makes me feel a bit better.
“Uhm… You asked me to come see you,” I break the awkward silence that crept in for about five minutes now. He is just sitting in front of me and not saying anything.
“I’m sorry for getting mad at you earlier. I shouldn’t have thought only about myself…” He pauses and bites his bottom lip, and I slowly nod my head as I feel elated. My hope was done, but now that he said that, I feel relieved more.
“I put you through all these in the first place, and I shouldn’t be mad at you. I know it’s really hard for you to have made that decision… I know you wouldn’t do that if you didn’t love me… I didn’t mean any of the things I said to you, so I’m sorry,” He says, and my face beams excitedly.
“Let’s go back to the way we used to be, but we can’t have sex for now, since you are carrying his child. We will figure out what to do about the baby before the pregnancy is out, ok?” He assures me before he walks over to where I’m sitting, and pulls me into his arms. Today is the happiest day of my life. It feels so good, knowing that we won’t end things.
“I will take out the baby if you want me to…”
“No, you can’t. That will create suspicion,” He cuts me off, and I slowly nod my head. Since he will take me back, I will do whatever he asks me to do.
“I won’t then,” I reply to him, and he kisses my hair before he pulls away from me. He cups my cheeks in his palms and stares at me intensely.
“I have something to ask you, Alicia,” He utters, and I give a ‘go ahead’ look.
“It’s about Ariel…” He pauses and sighs briefly.
“I know this is going to be hard for you, but can you make this sacrifice? We need to continue from where we stopped. I promise to make everything fast, ok?” He utters, and I feel a sting in my heart. I understand where he is coming from, and I know this is important to him. Even if I don’t like the idea of them being together, I also don’t have any choice but to let them be. Besides, it’s just to distract Max.
“I don’t have any feelings attached, so you don’t have to worry about anything,” Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, I couldn’t have thought otherwise, right? For someone who has never betrayed me since we’ve been together, for someone who always kept to his words and always did whatever he promised to, give me a reason why I shouldn’t also trust him on this?
“Alright,” I nod my head after a few seconds, and he kisses my forehead before he pulls me into his arms, hugging me tightly like he never wants to let go. I wish we can stay like this forever, but no, that time will still come, even if not now…
