Chapter 34

Book:The Couples' Teen Surrogate Baby Mama Published:2024-6-2

Max POV
“What about your wife?” She asks me, and I gulp down nothing nervously. I have been asking myself this same question, I have been trying to hold back and not allow my emotions to get the best of me, but the more I try to, the more it seems to be consuming me. I have fallen deeply in love with her, that I don’t want to hold back anymore, even though I know this is wrong, especially now that my wife is pregnant.
‘Alicia’ with her name ringing in my head, I ask myself if I still love her like I used to. It’s obvious that I don’t, and I don’t know why. I have no clue how I started losing the love I had for her. Even if there’s still some love left in me for her, what I feel most is the guilt of betraying the woman that loves me with everything in her.
“Do you… not love her anymore?” She further asks, and I sigh briefly.
“I do…” I reply, and she scoffs without even allowing me to go any further.
“What do you take me for? A fool?” She scoffs, and I bite my lip. Would she have preferred that I lie to her?
“Ariel…”
“Don’t touch me, Max. You can’t fucking love two people at a time. I only owe you a child, and when I give him to you, then I would disappear, and make sure that you never find me!” She says to me with pain written all over her. I watch as she turns and walks away with tears in her eyes, and my heart feels so heavy and pained.
After she’s out of my sight, I walk back to my car and hop in before I drive away recklessly. Going to the office is a big no for me, and going home is going to be even more frustrating, so I just drive down to the bar, not to drink, but to clear my head and be fine first.
Arriving at the bar a few minutes later, I stop on my track as soon as I spot Alex, sitting behind the counter. What the hell is he doing here?
“Hey, brother. Why don’t you join me?” He turns and beckons to me to come over. How the hell did he notice that I’m here? I stride over to him, regardless. Since I’m here, having some time to talk with him later won’t be a bad thing. I mean, I do not have a choice at this point.
“What are you doing here?” He asks as I sit beside him, and I scoff.
“I came to see the doctor here, which I’m sure that it’s the same reason you’re here,” I reply to him sarcastically, and he chuckles.
“You never cease to amaze me. You’re such a mean brother,” He whines as he pouts his lips. I wonder why he does that sometimes. It can’t be that my brother is now gay, right? I would kill him if he tries that shit.
“Aren’t you going to order anything? Bills on me,” He winks at me, and I scoff.
“I’m not here to drink, Alex. Just leave me to sit here in peace, or I leave the place for you,” I reply to him coldly, and he rolls his eyes at me.
“Don’t be so mean. Anyway, congratulations brother. I heard your wife is pregnant,” He smirks at me, and my eyes slowly widen in shock.
“My wife has always been pregnant. She’s three months pregnant now!” I snap at him because I can’t let him know the truth. And wait! Who the hell told him that?
“Really? Why the hell did I just hear about it today?” He squints his eyebrows as he stares at me confusingly, and I scoff.
“Maybe because you were so blinded by jealousy because my wife is pretty, and you never cared about anything else,” I shrug, and he scoffs.
“Don’t be ridiculous. Me? Blinded by jealousy? Is it not Alicia? Oh, come on, you of all people should know she’s not even my type of woman. Your secretary is,” He winks at me with his last statement, and I scoff.
“The fuck! I told you to stay away from my secretary!” I snap at him, and he scoffs.
“Why? Is she your side chic?” He smirks at me, and I slam my hand on the desk angrily.
“Just fucking stay away from her, you bastard!” I growl at him, and he scoffs unconcerned.
“Bastard? Yo, bro! You know our father,” He chuckles softly, and it pisses me off.
“And wait! Are you accusing our mom of infidelity?” He frowns at me, and I bite my lip. This bastard and twisting things are so close.
“I told you to stay away from Ariel, so just stop fooling around,” I further warn him.
“Alright… But, is she your girlfriend? Like the way you are getting overly protective of her is becoming questionable. Are you sure nothing is going on between you two?” He raises his eyebrows.
“She has a boyfriend, and you can’t go close to her,” I frown at him, and he scoffs.
“Do you think Alicia had no boyfriend before you got married to her?” He scoffs, and I raise my eyebrows in confusion. What’s he talking about?
“What are you talking about?” I blink my eyes.
“In summary, no woman is single. You just have to snatch her away from her man and win her heart over, which is exactly what I’m doing now, brother. I mean, you are married, don’t you want me to get married too?” He whines, and I scoff angrily.
“You should find someone else and not Ariel. She doesn’t even like you. She’s loyal to her boyfriend, and she won’t ever cheat on him,” I know that I’m getting overly jealous right now, which shouldn’t be happening, but I can’t help it.
“Is that how much you trust your secretary or are you the boyfriend she’s so loyal to?” He leans forward and asks me while having a smirk dancing at the corner of his lips.
“Wh… what are you saying? I’m fucking married, you know?” I stutter as I move away from him, and he scoffs as he sits back on his chair.
“If that’s the case, then let me chase Ariel in peace, and stop trying to be so protective of her, when she’s not your girlfriend. In that case, I will be on my way now. See you some other time, brother. And it was nice talking with you. I’ve missed this day so much,” He finally stands up and winks at me.
“I love you, sweetheart,” He winks at me and ruffles my hair before he walks away.
What the hell! That bastard!
