Chapter Ninety-Three – Fear.
The dark circles under her eyes had increased, along with the heaviness of her eyes and her heart. Debby didn’t know if she was still alive because she felt so dead.
She could hardly walk around in public for fear that the police could be unto her. And she really needed to stroll.
“Chen?” she called but no one answered.
Since he spoke to her, asking her intent on killing Arya, he had been distant after she didn’t give a satisfactory response.
Had he left her alone too? She just wanted that bitch dead. Why was it too much to do? Why didn’t anyone get her?
She slammed her hand at the desk and screamed. “Arya, I’d kill you if it’s the last thing I do!! Bitch!!”
The fact that she was somewhere, excited and with Damien made her furious. Damien rarely showed excitement with her, how was he able to open up with Arya within a short time?
Debby grabbed Chen’s hoodie and forced it on her body. She needed to move out and plan her next attack.
She had been too quiet. She didn’t want Arya thinking she forgot her. “Maybe I should shop for some clothes first.” She said out loud, looking down on Chen’s hoodie she wore.
Chen always went crazy and obsessed over her whenever she wore his clothes, she didn’t want him seeing her in it.
Her cash flow was shortening too, she had to contact her uncle somehow. It felt like she reached a hinge in her plans.
She was outside the building in no time and she hid her face under the hoodie. The nearest cloth shop was just in front but they had cheap clothes.
She didn’t want to look like a cheapskate when dealing her blows on Arya. She decided to take the trouble to go to a bigger boutique.
The walk took six minutes. Debby regretted not taking a taxi no matter how short it was. She didn’t have time to waste.
Those times were used by Arya to breathe air she didn’t deserve. She shouldn’t even have been born.
Just like her mother, she was forcing herself on a man she didn’t deserve and so shall she die as well.
The security guard made a small bow as she walked in, she ignored him. Her eyes enlarged on seeing the dresses in the store but the excitement soon died.
She turned back and stared at the man in shock. That was Kane. Damien’s personal driver. He was sitting in the store.
What was he doing at a boutique? Was he with Damien? Selena? Mrs. Wade? Any of them could recognize her even with the hoodie over her head.
However, a girl Debby had never seen, ran to Kane, showing him a dress. He only smiled at it.
“Maybe she’s his girlfriend. If he’s alone, then there’s nothing to fear.” She told herself and went deeper into the aisles.
Even if he recognized her, it’d be better for him to keep his mouth shut because he was only an employee at the Wades’.
“Hey! Hey! See this one!”
Debby felt her skin crawl as she heard that voice. She snapped her neck to the right, and her eyes fell on the source of her despair.
Arya ran to Kane, holding up a dress. “This will look good on Winx, right? Red is totally her color!”
Winx smirked coyly while Kane nodded, absentmindedly.
“So he came here with her?” Debby clenched her fists. Damien’s family driver driving Arya and a friend around? That meant she was like family to them already.
Debby pulled the pin from hair and held unto it tightly. Maybe as she was looking at Arya, she should just end her. “She was just a gold digger.” She seethed. “This little maggot.”
As she advanced towards Arya. Winx, who was heading towards Arya to show her a dress, noticed Debby.
Winx didn’t understand why a girl was marching straight at Arya. Maybe she were interested in the dress she was with?
Winx nearly looked away before catching a glimpse of the pin held in her hands tightly like she was about to stab someone.
Her hands gestured to Kane immediately, just as her legs ran towards Arya. Was the girl the Debby after Arya’s life?
“Bitch!” Debby yelled when she got close to Arya and drove the pin down, but unexpectedly someone came before her.
The pin stabbed straight at Winx’s shoulder. However, with her last strength, Winx kicked Debby away, leaving the pin on her body. Arya screamed, holding unto Winx.
Debby wanted to move away quickly but strong arms held her down. It must be Kane. “Let go, bastard!” she yelled at him.
The staffs at the boutique quickly called a police.
Fear engulfed Debby. She had to leave before the police arrived, but it looked hopeless because she couldn’t break free from Kane’s strong hold.
The more Winx cried in pain, the more Kane tightened his grip on her hands. Was she really his girlfriend?
What had she done? She didn’t know the girl she stabbed. But the girl had come before Arya by herself.
“Please let me go!” Debby was almost in tears. She couldn’t lose, not when she was so close to succeeding.
Arya was right before her and she couldn’t kill her. She was before her, glaring at her while she was held on the ground.
The police came within ten minutes and she was handcuffed. Why was she handcuffed? Wasn’t she a minor? The police shoved her inside a van. She was so confused.
The last sight she saw was the smirk of Arya’s friend. Wasn’t she wailing in pain few minutes ago? Did she fake all that?
The police van drove off.
Arya held unto Winx while the object was taken out from her body, and she was treated. “Why did you do this?”
“I swear, I didn’t plan to die for you. I just didn’t think that was a weapon.” Winx chuckled with clenched teeth.
Arya laughed too, to stop herself from crying. She looked up and saw Kane staring at Winx. He had a guilty expression.
She didn’t want him worrying too much. No one expected Debby to be around here so she couldn’t blame him for not responding quickly.
“We’d be taking her with us.” The nurse said, as some men lifted Winx to a stretcher and took her with them.
Kane held unto Arya. “Please, let me take you home. I’d keep tabs on your friend for you.”
Arya would have preferred if he had used Winx’s name but she forced a smile. “Sure, please do. And don’t worry, I don’t blame you for anything.”
He exhaled before leaving with her. Arya watched as the ambulance left with Winx, she looked at the heavens.
As Debby got arrested, did it mean the end of her rampage? Arya entered the car and a small smile came to her lips.
