Chapter Eighty-One – Lady Arya!
It was becoming unbearable for Arya, sitting at home, doing nothing, not even chores because she had servants.
She could only eat and eat and the movies she took from her sister were almost finished. She was bored out of her head.
“Is there anything to do? Anywhere to go that will be safe?” she sprang from her bed and wondered.
She looked to her left where Damien’s bed was located. He had been returning home late at night, perhaps being relaxed as he knew she was inside.
Arya fell back on the bed and began rolling from side to side. Connor was at school in the morning and afternoon so she had to stay on her own till evening.
“I have nothing to watch. No one to speak to. Nowhere to go… The Wade’s company!” She jumped from the bed.
She had never been to the Wade’s company except once. She could visit there with snacks for Damien. He’d excuse her if she came with lunch for him.
A mischievous grin appeared on her face. “I’d just act like I’m from the Wade’s mansion delivering snacks to Sir Damien.”
No one would know who she was exactly because nobody would be expecting Damien to have a wife. It was perfect!
“All I need to find now is a driver that will be willing to leave this boring hall with me.” She clenched her fists.
She remembered Damien’s personal driver, Kane. It seemed he had been transferred to being Mrs. Wade personal driver as he had some martial skills.
This had happened after Mrs. Wade was targeted and kidnapped. Damien now drove himself.
“Mrs. Wade is home right now so her driver was probably around.” Arya rushed to get dressed.
The young man was Kane and was a fine specimen. While they drove to the Wades company, she’d find a way to make friends with him and try pairing him up with Winx next time.
“I doubt I can make a pair with Damien and Winx, so I’d try some other rich guy around. For him to be the Wade’s family personal driver, he’d be living in money.” Arya gushed.
After dressing her best, though in not flashy clothes, she ran to the kitchen and asked for Damien’s favorite snacks, plantain and potato chips.
Packaging them in a lunch box and keeping her phone and bag ready, she ran towards the boy’s quarters were Kane could possibly be at. Her perfect plan was a go!
The security guards stared at her as she strolled towards them. “Hello, Sirs. Sorry to bother you but I’m looking for Mister Kane. Is he here by any chance?” She asked, smiling.
For unknown reasons, it felt like the security guards were admiring her, or where they wondering who she was?
“I am Sir Damien’s wife, Arya. Nice to meet you.” She introduced herself to see if it’d help.
One of them gasped. “Oh Lady Arya! Very sorry, you looked really different… no, I mean, it’s been a while I’ve seen you.”
Lady Arya? Arya faked a smile. And she looked different? It sounded like a compliment but doesn’t it mean she looked bad before?
Well, her wardrobe had gone through noticeable changes due to Damien buying gifts for her almost everyday, her aesthetics also changed. She did look different.
“Thank you very much. I need someone to drive me to the Wades Company, please. That’s why I asked for…”
“Kane!” another security guard began yelling. He ran inside the house. “Kane! Lady Arya wants you.”
Arya wished they would drop the ‘Lady’ already.
Kane came out minutes later, while buttoning his shirt. Arya swerved her eyes to the other side before she’d catch a glimpse of his abs but he walked up to her, still buttoning.
“Miss Arya, you are leaving the house?”
He sounded more informal that the other guards and Arya appreciated it, after all, Damien had introduced him to her so they could as well be acquaintances.
“Yes please. I’d like to go to the Wade’s Company. I’m tired of staying at home.” She clasped her hands together to plead.
Kane looked at the mansion. “I’d have to ask Mrs. Wade if she won’t be having any engagements first. She’s the one I was assigned to. You won’t mind, would you?”
Arya paused. She wouldn’t really like Mrs. Wade or anyone in the house to know she left, they might discourage her from leaving. But she knew Kane had to follow procedures.
“Very well then.” She took a step back.
Kane smiled and left for the mansion. Thankfully, he returned minutes later with a positive feedback and Arya felt like crying tears of joy. Her journey to the Wade’s Company began.
She wanted to seat at the front seat but decided against it later. She and Kane weren’t very familiar with each other yet.
Maybe she would also seat out becoming friends with him because the moment he left the mansion, he acted more formal and professional with her.
They had already left the mansion when a phone call buzzed in on Kane’s phone. Arya glanced at it, wondering if it was Mrs. Wade calling him to come back. That would be tragic.
Kane took a glimpse of the ID caller and sighed exasperatedly. “Why.” He muttered.
Arya was now wondering if it was his girlfriend or an ex-girlfriend. Kane turned to her. “Miss Arya, how good is your relationship with Master Ken, secretary of the Wade’s?”
Ken? Arya wore an annoyed look on her face. “Very bad. Now, I think of it, I’ll have to see him at the company, right?”
Kane closed his eyes, looking sorry for her. “I’m afraid you’d have to see him before you enter the company.”
And why was that? Arya noticed Kane slowing down at a restaurant. Did he want to get something?
“Young Master Ken is calling so I’d drop him off at the Company. I can’t refuse as Mrs. Wade had told me to help him when he asks. He’d be joining you.” Kane explained.
With his tone, Arya knew he didn’t want it to happen but he was bound by his employer to obey Ken. That Ken must be a thorn of flesh to everyone that knew him.
“I won’t make you disobey Mrs. Wade, of course. Take him in.” she tried sounding cheerful about it even when she’s not.
She had a stick in her bag. She had plucked it from a tree in the mansion to be some self defense against Debby or Ken.
If the need arose, she wouldn’t hesitate to hit him. She was sure Damien would let it slide if it’s her. She smirked.
Also, during the time she was bored at home, she had some reflection and had come to terms with her mistake.
So Ken rubbing it on her face wouldn’t hurt, rather she’d clap back at him if he tried belittling her again.
Kane answered the call. “Yes, sir. I’m at the restaurant you regularly visit. I’d be waiting for you.”
Arya noticed he didn’t mention her presence. Well, it was for the best. She kept the lunchbox and the bag on the seat she was at. Ken shouldn’t come to the back but stay at the front.
It’d be easier to ignore him when he wasn’t close to her.
