Chapter 50

When I made it back to the room, Darius was awake and not happy. “Where were you?” He’s standing in the middle of the room, looking like I just left him for good.
“I went to see Markus. Then your mother. I have a plan. I need you to trust me. It is the only way that we can all be happy.” He has this anger that has me a little worried, but I am going to keep calm and sweet, that way he won’t flip out. I know that tumor is the thing that makes him flip. I have to work against it.
He comes up to me, pushing me against the door. “I can smell him all over you. How is that supposed to make me happy?” His growl rumbles up through his chest.
“I know it doesn’t. Trust me Darius.” I keep my voice soft and even.
“Let me remove his scent.” He growls.
“Yes, please.” I leaned my neck towards him to show him that I am submitting to him. His lips attack my neck. Nibbling and kissing. I feel his tongue lap at my skin.
“You shouldn’t let him touch you.” He continues to growl.
“I know.” I moan into his touch. I can’t help it. I feel so much now. The tingles I felt before with Markus are all Darius. Everything with him is heightened. “Remove his scent, please.” My voice comes out needy and wanton. I need my mate.
He grabs me up, moving me to the bed. “You are my mate.” He growls.
“Yes.” I shout out, probably a little louder than I should. His body attacks every inch of mine, making sure that I only bear his scent. I bend my body more towards his to collect as much of his scent as possible.
Once he is done ravenging my body as savagely as he can, he pulls my body to his. “I love you Sophia.”
I cup his cheek. “I love you too Darius.”
He smiles. “I love hearing you say that.”
“Get used to it.” I returned his smile.
“Does that mean that you are staying with me?” He nips at my lip as he asks.
I think for a moment. I want to tell him, put his mind at ease. “If I tell you something, do you promise not to tell your brother?”
He nods enthusiastically. “I won’t betray your trust.”
“You are my forever mate. I will never have another.” I look him right in the eye to make sure that he knows I mean every word I just said.
His grip tightens. “You mean it?”
“Every word.” I can’t help but be happy. “I know that you are going to need to trust me a little here, but I wanted you to know that I mean every word of what I just said. You will be my mate for the rest of my life.” I push my body into his, making sure he knows I mean it wholeheartedly.
“What exactly does that mean?”
“It means I have to deal with your brother and his mate’s claim. I am meeting him tonight at eight.”
“Can’t you just reject him now?” His growl has returned, I knew he wouldn’t be happy about me meeting his brother.
“It’s not that easy. I wish it was. You’ll understand after tonight. Just trust me.”
He pulls me to his chest. “I do. I trust you, little mate.”
“Good. Now love me.”
He pulls my head back lightly by my hair. “Gladly.”
His lips press to mine and I love it. Never again will I feel repulsed when Darius kisses me. He is my mate, my forever.
