Chapter 10

There is a knock on the door and we both turn our attention to the door. The Alpha comes in. “Morning Ladies. I just wanted to let you know that Markus is here, we have enough time to meet him at the door.”
The Luna jumps up and rushes out the door, with me following close behind. “What about Darius?”
He comes around the corner taking me into his arms. “I’m right here.” He kisses my neck. He rushes with his family and me in tow. Which is interesting, because he doesn’t seem to really like his brother.
We make it to the porch as an SUV pulls forward. Darius keeps his arms around me as the doors open on the SUV. A few men exit but when the last man comes out of the back the Luna lets out a gasp and puts her hand over her mouth. “He has gotten so big.” She whispers out. If I wasn’t standing right next to her I would have missed it. Even with Darius pinning me to his body I still take the Luna’s hand and give it a squeeze. She smiles at me gratefully.
The guy rushes to his mom and scoops her up in a hug, thus pulling her hand out of mine. With the Alpha laughing. He spins her around. “I am so happy to be home.” He laughs as he spins his mom. After a minute he sets her down. He turns to his dad. “Hey dad.” The Alpha scoops him up into a bear hug. They are both pretty big so it is like two bears hugging. They look alike too.
Then the guy turns his attention to Darius. “Long time no see.” His voice sounds indifferent, but then a smile spreads on his face and he hugs Darius too, who only now lets me go to hug his brother.
Darius claps his back. “These two have been impossible without you. They have been going on and on for days about you coming back.”
The guy laughs. “I am sure you are happy to see your brother too.” He pulls back and looks at me. “Who is this?”
Darius pulls me back to him. “This is my mate, Sophia.”
I extend a hand to shake. I am not on a hugging basis with this guy. He stares in my eyes intently while taking my hand. What is this feeling? I shouldn’t have it. I feel sparks jumping up my arm. I gasp. I shouldn’t feel that. I chuckle a little, pulling my hand back. “Static shock.”
He keeps staring at me. “Yeah, right.” He chuckles a little, but I can feel Darius stiffen. He knows something is up.
Markus cocks his head to the side. Then his face lights up. “Oh, my goddess. It’s you.”
Darius looks between the two of us. “Who?”
He finally looks away from me. “The girl I was looking for. The girl I was telling you all about.” He turns back to me. “The girl I found hiding in the mountains ten years ago.”
I look away and blush. “I’m not sure about that.”
He shakes his head. “No it is you. You were hiding in a field on that mountain.” He points to the very mountain that I found refuge in. He isn’t going to drop it. I think he needs to make space between us. I am mated to his brother.
I nod. “Yeah, that was me.” There is no use denying it at this point. He knows who I am.
He steps back and makes a grand bow, “Well, lady Sophia. I kept my promise I am back and I found you.” I can’t help but chuckle. Darius growls. I quickly seal my lips.
Markus chuckles. “Oh, settle down brother. Worried I would steal her away.”
Darius growls again. “Did you miss the part where I said Mate?”
Markus doesn’t lose his smile. “No, I didn’t miss it.” Yet his eyes don’t miss mine. “Well, lady Sophia, I made one more promise to you. When do you want to start your training?”
The Alpha smiles. “That is an excellent idea. Sophia really hasn’t been trained at all. This would be great. She could get the one-on-one attention that she would need to get caught up with the rest of the wolves.”
Darius growls. “I can train her, thanks.”
