A man as exceptional as Osvaldo must never make his wife sad in the future. He is gentle and understanding and will undoubtedly give his beloved girl a grand and romantic wedding. Selena smiled at the thought, but her heart felt a touch of strangeness. The idea of Osvaldo belonging to another woman, marrying that girl, and giving her the most romantic grand wedding made her upset. She pinched her brow, pushing away the hint of annoyance. That man was not meant for her. No matter what, she had to go home. Relationships were not on her mind. In her life, responsibility always outweighed everything else. Especially now, with so many of her deceased companions waiting for her to return and avenge their deaths. She had not yet avenged her betrayer, so how could she ask for things she shouldn’t?
Selena suppressed the slightest ripple in her heart. When she raised her eyelids again, only a gentle calmness remained in her eyes. Leia sensed Selena’s mood had soured, wisely refraining from speaking, and drove back to the castle.
In the castle, Selena looked at the empty table, eating alone again tonight. Osvaldo had been busy, and Selena rarely saw him. Usually, she didn’t mind, but tonight, surprisingly, she missed him. Selena went upstairs, changed, washed her hands, and sat down at the table. She took a spoon, putting it down after two bites.
The butler, seeing her silence, explained, “There is a problem in business these days, and the young master is rather busy. Later, he’ll be free and will keep you company.” It was indeed a dereliction of duty, leaving such a beautiful wife alone. Recently, there had been a lot going on, with forces in turmoil, and Osvaldo judging a perfume competition, working crazy overtime to free up time.
Selena smiled, “It’s alright, Noah. I’ll be leaving Creephia soon and want to say goodbye to him.” The domestic perfume competition finals were in M City. Selena had to leave for a week, and she didn’t want to miss saying goodbye to Osvaldo.
The butler reassured her, “Don’t worry, the young master will not miss it.” Maybe he’d even give her a big surprise. Selena smiled, finished dinner, read for a while, and went upstairs to bed.
In the middle of the night, Selena was awakened. She opened her eyes and saw Osvaldo, who had just appeared in her dream, sitting on her bed. His good-looking face had a gentle look. His long fingers brushed her forehead, “What did you dream about? Why are you so flushed?”
Selena remembered the dream, flushing even more. She dreamed that he was kissing her. She changed the subject, “Why are you back at this time?” Osvaldo, pinching her nose, said, “Noah said you missed me.” Selena denied it, “I didn’t. I just have to leave, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to say goodbye to you in time.”
Osvaldo gave a warm smile, “Then tell me in advance wherever you go, and I’ll come back and wait for you to say ‘goodbye’ to me, okay?” Selena, meeting his black pupils, agreed meekly.
Osvaldo kissed her brow, saying good night. Selena, under his gentle coaxing, soon fell asleep again. After she slept, Osvaldo silently walked out. Selena was surprisingly awake, aware of what he had done, thinking it was a dream. Leia, in a corner, rolled her eyes.
Selena woke up with a vague memory but didn’t mention it. At the dining table, she was surprised to see Osvaldo. She had spent two days preparing for the perfume competition, and the engagement party between the Walson and Riddle families had taken place. There was no media coverage, just the families getting together, and Dominic and Leah had become an unmarried couple in name only.
