It’s not that I don’t want the guy to come with me, but I was worried about his condition. I know he’s not totally healed yet, and he used his strength during our encounter. Rhea and the other two HR staff went ahead yesterday to prepare the area for the job fair.
“Are you sure about this?” I asked him while the Khalifa Hotel service hasn’t left yet.
“Of course, you really have no faith in me,” he said, but I noticed him wincing in pain occasionally.
“Wrong. Your theory is not true. I just don’t want you to suffer,” I said.
“Thanks for the concern, Jamie, but I’m really fine, I promise. Besides, we’re going to a hotel, and if I get tired, I can rest upstairs,” he said.
“I’m glad the kids didn’t insist on coming,” I replied, but the truth is, I really don’t want Khaleel and Ameerah to come along. I’m sure Kate will join if they come, and that will just make things more complicated.
“Are you okay?” Samer asked.
“Yes, why do you ask?”
“I’ve noticed that you seem to be thinking deeply about something,” he said.
“Deeply? Can’t my mind just be overloaded right now?” I asked him, but he just furrowed his brow.
But in fairness to Samer, even with his furrowed brow or even when he’s frowning, he still looks handsome. It’s not tiring to look at him!
“Why are you so handsome?”
“You know, you’ve been saying that since earlier. I can’t keep up with you,” he finally complained.
“Hey, that’s mean! How can you even say that? Rhea is an angel,” I told him.
“An angel with a big appetite,” he commented.
“Hmmm, actually, there’s something I wanted to ask you the other day, but I forgot. Why were you holding a camera in the painting in my office?” My eyes narrowed as I waited for his answer.
I feel like my suspicion was correct, and I hope he won’t lie because I’ll remove the painting the next day to find out what secret it hides.
“The camera suits me,” Samer reasoned.
“Lies,” I said. “Tell me, just don’t lie because I already know the right answer to my question,” I warned him. Of course, it’s normal for us women to know the answer when we ask something.
“Do you know?” he asked as he ran his fingers through his hair. “How did you find out?”
“So, my suspicion was correct that there really is a camera in the painting, and it was pointed at me,” I said. “Why?” I asked him.
He didn’t answer immediately. He just looked at me, then said, “I just want to see you every day.”
“And why is that?” I was suspicious because that painting has been there for a long time.
“I’ve had a crush on you for a long time, and I want to see you every day even when I’m not in the Claybourne,” the man confessed.
“Seriously? Oh well, Sam, I almost believed you, but I also know how much you love Kate. Isn’t that why you came back to the Claybourne?” I asked him.
“I didn’t come back for Kate; I came back for you.”
“Wow! You’re really good at lying. Come on, admit it!” I pestered him until he finally admitted, but he seemed to have a different plan for me.
I noticed how he turned off the mic in the backseat and lowered the limo divider so the driver in front wouldn’t see us and what we were going to do at the back.
“You really don’t want to believe me?” he whispered.
I shook my head. Of course, I couldn’t believe what he said about suddenly making me the reason he came back to the Claybourne. I still remember our conversation when I greeted them at the airport.
“Convince me some more,” I challenged him, but instead of answering my question, he bit my earlobe. “Are you a dog? You love to bite,” I complained.
“This is just the only way I know how to stop you from talking so much,” he replied, but I knew he had other plans for me.
He slid his hand under my clothes. I almost don’t want to wear clothes anymore because I’m always enticed by Samer. When his hand reached between my thighs, I bit my lip. He only made a light touch as if teasing me.
He tried to separate my legs to have more access to my femininity. I felt like I was going crazy with his teasing, and I knew he also couldn’t resist the fire of desire. So, I touched his manhood over his pants, and he let out a soft moan.
“Say it, Jamie,” he said in a husky voice, and I knew what he wanted to hear from me.
But I also knew that he was burning with desire, so I rubbed his manhood over his pants, making him moan softly.
“Say it, Sam!” I threw back the words he said earlier.
“I want you…” he seemed to struggle to speak.
“I want you too,” I said, and I didn’t wait long. I voluntarily lowered his pants and boxer shorts. Then, I simply removed my underwear and straddled him.
However, he wasn’t satisfied, and he lifted my top and immediately cupped my breasts after unhooking my bra. While he had my breast in his mouth, I teasingly rubbed the Bataan flag against his hardness.
He let out a soft moan as my body rubbed against him. And when I couldn’t resist the desire any longer, I sat on his manhood. When we arrived at Stonewick, people were staring at the Khalifa Group’s limousine service. If they were surprised by the passing limousine, they were even more surprised when a provincial girl stepped out, someone they used to look down upon.
I didn’t want to brag, but it felt good to be looked up to as if I were an important person. I just smiled as I followed Samer into the hotel. Luckily, I had brought spare clothes because it wouldn’t be good if the applicants found out about the miracle I performed during the journey.
“You look like a vegetable after a calamity,” I teased Samer while he was lying down in the room we took.
“It’s all your fault,” he blamed me.
“And now, I’m the one to blame? Next time, you should be ready before challenging me to a duel of wit,” I said.
“Wait, I’ve been hearing that word since earlier. Please explain, what is that?” He was confused by what I said.
“Never mind, you might get triggered again. Anyway, I’m going to take a quick shower because the job fair starts in thirty minutes,” I told him.
“Why do you need to shower?” Samer asked.
“Well, I need to freshen up because I smell like a man,” I replied. “Do you want them to find out about what we did during the trip?” I asked him.
“Alright, go ahead and shower,” Samer said.
When I went down to the lobby where the job fair was held, I felt like everyone’s eyes were on me. Maybe it was just my imagination because most of the applicants were fresh graduates. There were only a few with previous experience in the industry.
“What is it?” I asked Rhea as she approached me, hesitating to speak.
“He’s here,” Rhea said.
I furrowed my brow and was a bit annoyed with the woman because she was trying to be dramatic. Just spill the news, no need to prolong it.
“Who?” I asked.
“Brent,” Rhea said.
“What?” I was taken aback by Rhea’s news. “Why is he here?” I asked.
“He’s an applicant,” Rhea said.
“An applicant for what?” I was confused by how things were unfolding.
“As a manager,” she said.
“A manager? Is he qualified?” Brent didn’t mention having any hotel experience before he came back to the Claybourne.
“Here’s his resume,” Rhea handed me Brent’s resume, and after reading it, I couldn’t say anything. Brent’s previous employer before he came back to the Claybourne was no easy feat.
“Are there other applicants for the position Brent applied for?” I asked Rhea because I didn’t want to hire that guy.
“Unfortunately, no one else is applying for that position,” Rhea replied. “The LGU screened the applicants to avoid wasting our time,” she added.
“I see. Let me talk to Samer about this first,” I told Rhea. I needed to inform Samer about Brent’s visit to Khalifa. I didn’t want it to cause any trouble between us.
As I made my way to the room Samer was occupying, I was quite nervous. I had this fear in my heart that Brent might trigger Samer again, and his injuries might worsen.
Samer was still sleeping when I entered. I smiled as I watched him sleep. Even his snores seemed endearing to me. I shook my head and stood up to adjust the room’s thermostat.
“Stay here for a while,” he said, and I was surprised that he was already awake. He didn’t speak earlier when I entered and pretended to be asleep.
“So, you were just pretending to sleep?” I asked him, and when he nodded, I immediately pinched his side. Samer yelped like a child, but he couldn’t do anything about it. “You’re so mean!” I pretended to be angry, but, of course, I wasn’t really mad at him. When we love someone, it’s not easy for us to get angry or annoyed with them. Sometimes, we pretend to be upset just to be loved.
“Do you miss me that you came back?” Samer asked, smiling, while I couldn’t seem to calm down because I didn’t know how to start.
“Hmmm, you see, Brent is in the lobby,” I said to him, and my suspicion was right that he wouldn’t like Brent coming to Khalifa. His forehead immediately creased, and he glared at me.
“Did you agree to meet him here?” He squinted his eyes as he asked me, and, of course, I was offended by the way he looked at me.
I felt like he was thinking that I contacted Brent to come here. “Do you think I deliberately contacted him to come here?” I asked him. “Anyway, don’t bother answering because I might find out that you don’t really trust me. He applied as a manager,” I informed him about what I learned from Rhea.
His forehead creased even more, adding to the wrinkles on his forehead. “What position?” he asked about the job Brent applied for.
“Manager,” I said.
“That man is really up to something! Does he know that you’re connected to HR?”
I nodded as an answer to his question. “Yes,” I said.
“I see. That’s why. He wants to get into Khalifa just to see you all the time! I’ll just change my clothes, and we’ll go down together,” he said to me.
“No! Do you want to get hurt again? Just stay here, and I’ll handle him,” I refused to let him go down because I was afraid things might get messy downstairs, especially since there was already tension between the two men.
“I’ll help you with the final interview,” he said.
“Really?” I asked him, and when he didn’t answer immediately, I started to doubt if Samer Khalifa had other plans. “Never mind, don’t continue whatever you’re planning right now,” I reminded him. Of course, Brent is quite well-known in the city of Stonewick.
“Are you afraid that I might punch your ex?”
I blinked my eyes several times upon hearing that. “Is that a joke?” I asked him because he might have forgotten that we just came from the hospital, and his injuries haven’t fully healed from his last confrontation with Brent.
“I was just off-balance before,” Samer tried to brush it off.
I know that Samer is not clumsy, but when it comes to Brent, he’s at a disadvantage. So, I hope he realizes that he shouldn’t provoke Brent too much, or we might end up back in the hospital. Such a hassle! “Alright, but just stay here. If you really want to help, just sit beside me so I’ll be inspired all the time,” I said.
“You’re so bad, Jamie. Are you planning to turn me into a teddy bear?” he complained.
“Just don’t think too much about Brent. If he applied for a job, maybe he needs income,” I explained to Brent. “Here’s a copy of his resume,” and I handed Brent’s resume to him. When his forehead creased again, I wasn’t surprised anymore.
“So, he came from Kate’s hotel?” Samer said.
“Kate’s hotel? Where? In the US?” I was shocked because I had no idea that my ex was that wealthy!
“Yes,” was Samer’s short answer.
