Brent touched his cheek after I slapped him left and right.
“As you can see, the rain has stopped. You can now go back to Stonewick!”
“But my shirt hasn’t dried yet.”
“Well, that’s not my problem if you have to go back to the province in your house dress!”
I didn’t care if it looked funny with the flowery home clothes. I was about to say something when my phone suddenly rang. I picked it up from the table and answered the call.
“Yes, Mr. Khalifa? What? Why did you come here? You should have just ask me to go back to the hotel. Okay, hold on.”
“Who came?” Brent asked as I put the phone down.
“Samer, my boss. Hmm, you should stay inside for a while. I don’t want you to run into each other again. Go up to my room quickly!”
“Oh, the boss is visiting his employee, and I guess you two have a relationship.” Brent said before going upstairs.
Let him think whatever he wants! I went out of the house and ran to the gate to let Samer in.
“You should’ve just asked me to pick you up. Is that taxi clean? Oh, by the way, why are you here?” I asked him as we walked into the house.
“I don’t know. I just suddenly missed your cooking. Do you have stocks here, or should we buy from the market?” Samer asked as we entered the house.
“What do you want to eat?” I asked because my refrigerator only had vegetables and beef. It was easier to prepare vegetables, and I would just use the beef as a topping.
“Beef Steak?”
“Are you sure?” Well, I had everything to prepare a delicious beef steak.
“Okie, dokie. You go watch TV there while I cook.” I pointed to where the home theater was. “Where are the kids? Why didn’t you bring them?”
“They’re bonding with their mom.”
“And? I thought you were afraid that Kate might take the kids, so why did you leave them in her care?”
“She’s still their mother, and I don’t want to deprive her of her rights to the kids.”
“You’re a good father, Samer. The twins are so lucky to have you as their dad.” I said as I put the beef in the microwave to defrost. Then I got everything I needed from the pantry for cooking. “Anything else?” Samer didn’t ask me to cook for him every day, and besides, cooking was a small favor compared to the kindness he showed me.
“Hmm, oysters?”
“Cravings granted! Now, why don’t you go to the cellar and choose some wine?”
I could cook better when no one was watching. Knowing Samer, he would have a hard time choosing the perfect wine for our dinner. Although I wasn’t fond of hosting parties at home, I had a lot of drinks stocked, courtesy of my boss who insisted on it.
“Fine. I know you don’t want me to watch you, so I’ll take my time.”
When the man left, I started preparing the ingredients. In just five minutes, I began cooking. My cooking skills were on display as I prepared a meal for my boss.
“So, am I going to eat here later?”
“Brent! I told you to hide, why did you come downstairs?” If the man was impossible way back then, he was even more so now.
“I’m not a criminal to hide, besides, I won’t let the two of you to be by yourselves! Never!”
“If it’s just about food, don’t worry because I’m cooking for four people. So please, go back upstairs and maybe you’ll avoid Samer here.”
“How much do you love that guy?” He asked me repeatedly, and it was annoying, to be honest.
“Let’s talk about our love later, okay? As you can see, I’m busy!”
“But not busy enough to stop me from doing this!”
He suddenly kissed me, and to my surprise, I couldn’t stop him. It had been too long since the last time we kissed each other, and the next thing I knew, I kissed him back.
I felt his hand touch my chest, but I didn’t resist; I let him feel that part of my body. When Brent inserted his hand under my clothing, I moaned and writhed, especially when his lips focused on one of my breasts.
“No..” I said, but I didn’t do anything to stop him.
“Jamie..” the man’s voice was hoarse as he called my name in the middle of it all.
“Brent… wait!”
He turned off the stove and carried me upstairs to my room. When we got upstairs, he kicked the door closed with his foot.
“Let me make love to you, sweetheart,” he said as he tried to remove my underwear.
When I felt his hand near my womanhood, I suddenly woke up as if doused with cold water.
“I said, No!” I emphasized every word to make him understand that I didn’t want things to go this way. I saw confusion in his eyes before he snapped out of it.
“I’m sorry, I was just surprised, Jamie.” He held his forehead as if scolding himself.
“You keep saying sorry, and I’m tired of that word. If you’re truly sorry, then behave yourself! I have a guest in case you forgot.”
Speaking of my guest, I made myself presentable as fast as I can. Then I left Brent and went downstairs again. I almost fell into his trap, ah!
“Where have you been?” Samer was sitting on a wooden chair near the kitchen island. A bottle of Merlot was in front of him.
“Hmm, I just went upstairs to get something.”
“Really? By the way, what happened to your lips?” He noticed that my lips were slightly swollen.
“Why?” I got nervous with his question.
“It looks like they were bitten, they’re swollen. Look in the mirror, it seems like there’s a wound at the bottom.”
I took my phone and opened the camera, and there I saw my reflection. I looked like a woman who was thoroughly loved all night long! Brent was truly something!
