Chapter 60: The Meeting

Once Claude’s birthday was here and conducted a banquet party for selected guests, he and I decided to entertain the guests until we managed to speak about the matters that concerned the offspring of the Moon Goddess.
“We are pleased that all of you wish to discuss this matter,” Claude said as we all sat down at a circular table where we could see each other.
“This is an opportunity we would like to seize as this matter hasn’t been discussed properly.” It was Kennedy Strofe XIV, Alpha King of the Estasia Eglaria Kingdom. He was with his Luna Queen named Lydia Reilly III.
“Indeed. I have been wanting to discuss the prophecy, too. It is a good thing you thought of this, Claudian,” said Azarius Kingston de Carteret, Alpha King of the Sowinski Kingdom. He hasn’t found his mate yet so there was no Luna Queen yet in their kingdom.
“We must settle this at once and share the knowledge we know. I thank you as well for letting me present my presence here, Alpha King Claudian,” Henricus la Chandelier, Crown Prince of the Yuanzhong Kingdom, said. He was with his sister named Eustacia la Chandelier. The Alpha King of the Yuanzhong Kingdom and his father named Helio la Chandelier weren’t present due to the expedition he set forth this week. So the representative of their kingdom was Crown Prince Henricus.
As for his sister, Eustacia, she knew about what we were going to speak about. Every generation of the royal lycan family must know about the prophecy. It was important that they were aware because only the royalties could be the only ones who knew about this matter first.
“We can call each other’s names since we all have the same wavelength of the royal title, Henricus,” Claude stated. The other Alpha Kings and Luna Queen nodded in agreement.
“You will soon be crowned as the Alpha King of the Yuanzhong Kingdom so there is no need for formality,” Kennedy said as he chuckled.
“I agree to that,” Azarius agreed.
Henricus smiled, nodding. “Thank you for welcoming me.” He had a gentle smile looking at us. “You can call me Henry or Henricus, whichever you prefer.”
Claude, Kennedy, Henry, and Azarius had started sharing their knowledge about what they knew while Lydia, Eustacia, and I remained silent as we all listened to them. I silently observed these four Alpha Kings which I included Henricus since he would be turned to an Alpha King soon.
Basically, when they shared the information, they all found out that no one from them had ever bestowed information that the offspring of the Moon Goddess had shown up.
“Is that only their purpose? To be the witnesses to the mundane world Moon Goddess created?” I asked after a moment when they finished exchanging information.
The four men nodded in agreement.
“They are also bound to have difficulties and challenges as well.”
We both turned our heads when Princess Eustacia spoke abruptly. By looking at her, it seemed she also knew full well about the purposes of the daughters of the Moon Goddess.
Since she got our attention, she smiled sweetly after speaking earnestly. “I mean, that is how it must be supposed to be, right? I do not think that just by witnessing the Moon Goddess’s creation is their sole purpose.”
I stared at her, feeling something bizarre at her. One moment she looked like she was angry but then the next thing was she looked like an angel.
“Eustace…” Henricus probably called her nickname from Eustacia.
Eustacia smiled more at him. “I am alright, brother.”
I glanced at Claude who was looking at me and offering his hand at me. Smiling, I gladly obliged to take his hand under the table and intertwined our hands together.
“Princess Eustacia might be right. If being born to our mundane world to just be the witnesses, then it is implied that the offsprings of the Moon Goddess are bound to face the difficulties, racial discrimination, challenges, and being born in a lowly rank. It can be Omega or a peasant,” said Kennedy.
“Don’t you think it is a bit cruel?” Lydia asked after a moment. “To think that they are bound to this…” she paused.
“I feel like I understand now,” I butted in. “If by witnessing this world, then what we also experience here living as a human and a werewolf, they are also bound to experience the same thing. Perhaps, our Moon Goddess is trying to understand the emotions of a human by having her daughters going here in our world,” I added.
Now, I have come to think of it. I was surprised that I came to understand how the Moon Goddess’s mind works. How did I be able to understand her true intentions for her daughters?
“Right. They weren’t born to be stone-hearted goddesses,” Azarius said with a nod. “Their true intention is this. This is their mission.”
Claude agreed. “Remember that the prophecy said that once the Moon Goddess’s daughters have fulfilled their missions, they will come back to the celestial palace of the Moon Goddess to aide her by her side.”
“Indeed.” Azarius nodded. “You are correct, Claudian. They are somewhat called spirit goddesses.”
Kennedy drank his tea. “Didn’t they have their own specific deity title? Just like our Moon Goddess being titled as the Goddess of Creation since she is the one who created our world.”
“I agree with Kennedy,” Henricus said. “I believe they have their own deity title serving what should be their purpose,” he said meaningfully.
“What could it be?” Lydia asked.
“No idea. The divine priest didn’t reveal anything.” It was Azarius who spoke.
“That’s troublesome…” Claude said. “How are we supposed to know that they are already here and wandering around? How are we supposed to gather them so our subjects would know their existence?”
That’s right. It must remain a secret first to the royal lycan family until the daughters have gathered and completed. The announcement of their arrival must be welcoming or else the Moon Goddess would punish them.
That was what Claude told me.
“We don’t even know how many they are and where they could be,” Kennedy said with a sigh.
“Soon.” We all turned our heads to Princess Eustacia when she spoke. Her earnest expression was there again. “The first daughter of the Moon Goddess will come forth and must be the one who should find her sisters,” she said meaningfully.
“Are you associating with the Moon Goddess?” I asked.
The way she sounded right now was like she knew something. It felt like something was going on and she was just being secretive but there was something off about her.
As far as I know, Princess Eustacia is a kindhearted princess that the Yuanzhong Kingdom has been talking about. But how come I am seeing otherwise? She screamed that something was wrong with her.
I do not know why but I am feeling a little uneasy in her presence.
Eustacia glanced at me and smiled sweetly. “Only one time, Your Majesty. Just as you managed to associate with her before.”
Right… I told them that I was associated with her. I even told these people around me here why the Moon Goddess spoke to me.
“That is what the Moon Goddess told you?” Kennedy asked suspiciously.
Eustacia nodded. “Indeed, you are correct, Your Majesty.” She politely bowed her head.
“We should have invited our fathers who once communicated with the Moon Goddess,” Claude suggested.
Henricus chuckled. “My father hasn’t talked to the Moon Goddess but my grandfather can manage to help us somehow.”
Azarius spoke, “I don’t think they will help us. They did this alone without needing the presence of our grandfathers during our fathers’ reigning their respective kingdom. If we can handle this somehow, we do not need the suggestion or any words coming from them,” he pointed out.
“You are right, Azarius.” Claude nodded his head.
In the end, the discussion ended well. But I still wanted to speak with Princess Eustacia but she started avoiding me but clinging to her older brother.
I expressed my thoughts to Claude when I stayed at the Alpha King’s chamber. Before we could sleep, I bestowed him with a bracelet as a gift.
“That is an incantation of protection I asked from the divine priest,” I explained as I had gone to the temple after I bought that when I had the day off and went to the capital without Claude knowing. But he eventually found out and he was arching his eyebrow.
I shrugged it off and kissed him on his lips to ease the fact that he was annoyed with me that I didn’t tell him I was going out.
It was my escapade after all. I do things according to my own will and even pretend and disguise myself as someone. I even had to do that when I was looking for fun.
But as always, Claude knew me very well even though I hid my scent from him. He could be able to identify whenever I am in disguise, that is why I always keep my guard up.
“Ah, so this is what you did back in the capital then, you stubborn woman.” Claude pinched my cheek. He smiled afterward and looked at the bracelet by raising his hand in the air. “But thank you, love. I love your gift to me. I will treasure it. I am not really expecting gifts but you give me what you think would be suited for me.” He instantly hugged me. “Thank you for coming to the conference with the other Alpha Kings and Luna Queens, Rachelle.”
I showered him some kisses on his jaw just as he was doing to me before. “I am here for the better or for the worse, Claude. The state affairs you are dealing with is also part of it.” I laid to my side and gathered Claude to my arms, allowing him to bury his face to the crook of my neck. “I am quite nervous that I got to meet them. Their auras are unexpected, too. Also about Princess Eustacia…”
“She knows something but she didn’t want to say anything,” Claude concluded and tightened his hold to my waist. “Azarius, Kennedy, and I are aware of it. We didn’t tell this to Henricus because we suspected that they were conspiring with important information.”
“What do you mean?” I made him look at him so that I could see his hazel orbs that were being bathed by the moonlight. I was confused by his words.
Claude took a deep breath. “We believe that Princess Eustacia is one of the daughters of the Moon Goddess.”
