At five o’clock in the afternoon, Ella got dressed for dinner with James. She chose the mulberry lace sheath dress by Adrianna Papell. It has softly pleated cap sleeves and an alluring back cut-out. Its neckline is square so she will look modest. And her long hair is loose so that the cut-out on the back is not noticeable. She paired it with a black Jimmy Choo Lace pump. She applied a little make-up so that she wouldn’t look ugly next to James. But even though he was even better than Damian, she still wanted Damian. Carrying the silver pouch, she went downstairs. She smiled at James.
“You look splendid, Ella.” James intentionally raised his voice because he knew Damian was just nearby and listening to them.
“I’m really making an effort because I don’t want to look sluggish when you’re with me. Why is it that your cousins are so handsome, tsk tsk.” She did not scold the man when he took her hand and kissed him as if he were an avid lover. “You know, the luck of your future girlfriend.” Ella blames James for being sweet to her.
James came over and whispered to Ella. “Thank you,” he said.
Ella scolded James because he didn’t have to whisper but she laughed at what he did. “I don’t know about you,” he said and then pointed out its elegance. James was wearing only casual, white t-shirt topped with cotton jacket and low-rise slim fit Levis jeans. If her heart hadn’t been dedicated to Damian, she would surely have fallen in love with the young man next to her. Damian’s black car was parked outside the house which they were going to use. “But you look even harder now in my eyes,” Ella added.
“I know. But let’s go,” said James because he saw Damian who could no longer paint his face.
“Okay, let’s go.” Ella said and clung to James’s arm and at the same time they left the house.
The Peacock Garden has lush green surroundings and overlooked the beaches and several small island in the distance. Its view was really breathtaking. Upon entering the restaurant, they immediately went to the table reserved by James.
The set-up inside the restaurant is grandioso and the staffs are super friendly. When the two of them sat down, they looked at the menu and the chef’s pick for the day. A few minutes later James asked him if he had chosen anything. He nodded and they called the waiter to order Chef’s Salad with sautéed chicken strips, tomato cream soup, grilled beef fillet steak with bacon and baked potatoes, grilled salmons, beef tenderloins, apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. He also ordered green tea and coke for James.
“We’ve already ordered a lot, can we eat all of them?” he asked the man when the waiter had left to prepare their ordered food.
“Of course, we’ll eat all that later. And don’t worry about ruining your figure, we won’t go home right away. There’s a bar and disco here and there’s even a spa if you want.” James replied.
“Hmm, I seem to like that.” She thought she had never been to a disco bar because she was excited by what the young man said.
“Good. After we eat, let’s go to the bar. They also have a spa here if you want,” he gave Ella the option because she might not like the bar.
Ella just stared at the man for a moment and shook her head in amazement. “Why do you look like you’re from here? You know more about me, eh.” He was not unaware that he rarely visited them.
James examined the woman to see if she really knew anything about her work. “Part of the job, Ella.” His short answer to this.
“That’s right, Damian mentioned to me that you have your own detective agency. But as far as I know, you only set up your agency lately. So what was your job before?” Ella innocent question.
“I’d rather not discuss it but to set the record straight, I’m not the only one who owns the agency. It’s a corporation,” James said but he couldn’t tell the woman that Damian was among the incorporators of the agency he managed.
“I see. I heard there are a lot of handsome people in your agency. Do you have no hiring? Even an office cleaner? ” She jokingly asked James.
“Don’t ever think about it, Ella. Damian might become a criminal. Opps, our food is coming, “he secretly thanked the waiter who brought their food because he lied to the woman. “Let’s eat, I’ve been hungry before.” He says.
“Okay,” he only replied because he was also hungry.
In the meantime James and Ella forget about Damian because they are busy appreciating delicious food. “We should go out often,” James suggested.
“No way! How can I have a boyfriend if you are always with me, “he did not agree with James’s statement that they often eat out.
“Ella, you’re still young, are you sure that Damian is really what you want? You might just get hurt,” James warned Ella because he knew Damian and he already knew that even if he liked Ella, he didn’t the engagement to Monique will be canceled.
Her mind was already set on having Damian as a husband. But how to accomplish what he wants he does not yet know. “Yes, he’s the only one I want.” Ella replied.
James dropped his cutlery. He had always known that the woman was stubborn, but he did not expect it to be super stubborn. “What if he can’t love you?” James asked the woman.
Ella bit her lip hard and looked up at the ceiling while thinking of a good answer for James’s question. There’s a possibility that Damian can’t afford to love her as a woman, but she can’t despair. “I’ll still try, but I feel like he likes me too, eh.” Ella was positive that Damian was attracted to her.
