He swallowed as he stared at her. He wanted to tell her how he felt about her but he just couldn’t bring himself to say anything about it to her. He clenched his fists, what was wrong with him? He was a man, how could he be so scared to tell a woman how he felt for her.
He stared at her making food downstairs and he smiled at how beautiful she looked while doing it. Hs took in a deep inhale, maybe this was the right time to go tell her.
He cleared his throat as he walked to her. “Good morning.” He greeted with a smile, and she walked to him as she gave him a peck on the cheek.
“Good morning, how are you doing?” She asked him, and he nodded.
“I’m great. I’m doing great, thank you.” He told her, and she smiled.
She went to continue cooking while he stood there, staring at her. He clenched his fists, they were alone, this had to be the best time to ask her out, and here he was, getting scared.
“Be a man, Daniel. Be a man.” He tried to tell himself, but it wasn’t working for him in any way.
He took in a deep inhale as he moved closer to her. “Kathryn, I…” before he even got the chance to start speaking, she turned to him, and with those wonderful eyes of hers on him, he found himself unable to say anything.
She smiled at him, “tell me, what is it? Do you want to say something to me?” She asked him, and he shook his head, smiling nervously.
“No, I just felt like calling out to you.” He told her, and with that, rushed out of the kitchen.
She stared at him as he walked away, and she smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. What was wrong with her? why was she always so nervous whenever she was around him? She took in a deep inhale, perhaps it could be love? But she had never experienced this before so how could she be sure it was actually love?
She sighed, she was only here for a job, she couldn’t be thinking about this, she had to stop thinking about these things, they weren’t the reason she was here in the first place . She managed to assure herself that this would only come in the way of her friendship with Daniel so she closed her eyes, taking deep breaths, and even though she kept seeing his face everytime she closed her eyes, she decided to let it be.
Daniel ran his fingers through his hair as he looked into the mirror. “What is wrong with you, Daniel? What’s so hard about going up to her and then telling her how you feel?” He asked himself as he banged his hand against the table.
He smiled as he stared at himself in the mirror. He wanted to try out a little trick, he wanted to imagine the mirror as Kathryn, and then confess how he felt to her. “Kathryn, I know, I’ve not being the best to you, I’ve being a jerk, and..” he hadn’t even finished speaking when he banged his hand hard.
How could he even think of confessing love like that? What a ridiculous way was that to confess love? His ran his fingers through his hair, she was one of the best things that could have ever happened to him so if he was going to make her feel like that, he needed to make it unique.
Flowers! She had a special liking for those, maybe that would be the best way to get her attention. He smiled to himself, and placed an order for flowers to be brought to his house.
He didn’t know a lot about her, and as such, he didn’t know her favorite flower so he just ordered for every single flower to be delivered to him. He swallowed nervously, this was a great way to confess love.
As they ate, she could see him staring at the door nervously and she was worried about him. “What’s wrong? Why do you keep staring at the door like you’re waiting for someone to show up? Are you expecting anybody?” She asked him, and he chuckled.
“Oh no, eat your food. Thanks for the food, it was delicious. Please excuse me, I’ve got to go.” He told her, and she nodded as she watched him get up and then leave.
After some time of him leaving, there was suddenly someone at the door and she called for him. Perhaps it was the reason he had being staring at the door so nervously the whole time. The moment he heard that there was someone at the door, he realized it was the flower vendor.
What If she went to the door herself? He shook his head, that would be a disaster. He rushed straight to the door, and unfortunately, it wasn’t the flower man.
“Daniel Lopez?” The man asked, and on staring at him, Daniel realized he was a delivery man.
“Yes, what’s wrong?” He asked, and Kathryn walked to them. He handed Daniel an evelope, and Daniel signed before he left.
“What’s that?” Kathryn asked as Daniel stared at the envelope and before she knew it, he started to jump in joy.
“Thank you, Kathryn, thanks.” He told her as he grabbed her, carrying her around as he jumped for joy, and she stared at him.
“What happened?” She asked him with a smile, and he showed it to her
“One of the legal tenders I submitted was actually approved. It was approved and it got the highest amount.” He told her, and she jumped for joy.
“I told you it would pay to be good, and..”. Before she could complete her statement, the flower vendor walked in, and Daniel took the flowers after paying for them.
“Congratulations, Daniel.” She told him with a smile on her face as she stared at the file. “Didn’t I tell you? I told you that if you decided to be good, it would work out well for you. Now look, it’s working out well.” She told him happily, and he handed her the flower.
“For you, I’ll be anything.” He told her, and she took the flower.
She didn’t know how to feel at that moment, but one thing was certain, and that was the fact she felt really awkward and had butterflies in her stomach at that moment.
