He moved slowly as his head ached him badly, he couldn’t seem to recall anything that happened till the memory of those reporters pulling up in front of them, flashing their cameras at them and saying those nasty things to them came to mind.
He could now recall being hit on the head and Kathryn being taken away and that was when his eyes came open immediately and he screamed, “Kathryn!”
He looked around, where was he? He could have sworn that when he lost consciousness, he was outside his office so how was he suddenly here? Holding on to his head, he got off the bed as he walked to the door and seeing a particular mark on the door, he immediately knew where he was. His house!
He frowned, there was only one person who could have done this, Louis.
At the thought of Louis, he clenched his fists hard, he hated that brother of his and for daring to involve Kathryn in their fight, he would make sure Louis paid, dearly. He tried opening the door and got even angrier when he realized the door had being locked from the outside.
“Louis, you bastard, open this door right now!” He yelled as he banged hard on the door, kicking it at intervals to try open it.
Unfortunately, the door were unbreakable. They weren’t on a twenty year warranty for nothing now were they?
“Louis!” He continued to yell as he banged hard on the door but again, like the other times, he didn’t get a response.
He gritted his teeth in fury, the audacity of Louis to even lock him up in a room. He would definitely make Louis pay for this!
He was still looking around the room, thinking of a means of escape when the television came up and he stared in shock at it. “Hey brother”
He clenched his fists even harder, it was Louis. Had he come to mock him? He would definitely make him pay for all this. “I know you’re furious right now and trust me, it’s justified but then brother, don’t you think you should at least calm down and listen to what I have to say?” He asked and Daniel took a glass, about to throw it at the television when Louis spoke.
“Hold on, I might have a way to help you out ” he said and Daniel held on to the glass, now contemplating on whether to actually throw or leave the glass.
“Say what you want to say and stop trying to speak like you’re a good person.” He said as he finally let go of the glass, letting it fall to the ground.
Louis chuckled slightly, “now that’s my brother, you’re really Lopez’s son.” He said with a naughty and annoying smile on his face and before Daniel knew it, the screen was divided into two.
In that video, it was a reporter and some cohosts, they were talking about none other but Kathryn.
“But then, don’t you think it was well thought out?” The first reporter asked.
“Of course, I do. For so long, Daniel Lopez has never being seen around a woman and then suddenly, a woman shows up and then, she is his assistant? They suddenly go out so often and then, spend the night alone in a car because they got stranded? Ok, let’s say that’s acceptable but then, Mr Lopez admitting to them making out, isn’t that enough evidence already?”
Daniel stared at the part where Louis was and he clenched his fists hard as he stared at his brother, those reporters kept on saying filthy things and amidst all these, he noticed something. Whatever it was they said, he wasn’t really dragged, it was Kathryn.
“Louis I swear I’ll kill you and….” Louis chuckled loudly.
“At this point Daniel, you don’t have to threaten me. You’re the one who is locked in a room and me, I have the upper hand” he told him and Daniel went and took the butter knife beside the bed.
“You have the upper hand don’t you? Come on, Louis. If you really think you’re that confident, let me out. Unlock the door to this room and I’ll show you why over you, I got the most shares in the family business ” he said and the moment Daniel mentioned that he had the most shares in the family business, Louis got angry and he could see the anger in his eyes.
Before Daniel knew it, the screen was turned off and then, just a few minutes later, the door came open and Daniel saw Louis standing there, fury written all over him.
Daniel smirked as he walked to Louis, “for the first time, you have decided to come face me” he said as he stared at him, both brothers standing against each other, more like a face off.
Without even waiting for Louis to speak or respond, Daniel pushed him away and was already making to leave the house when Louis spoke, “I think I’ve got a way to save Kathryn” he said and Daniel immediately stopped.
On hearing Louis’ words, he turned. He knew Louis, he would never do anything without a gain and more importantly, when it involved him, louis always wanted it to be a competition.
He scoffed slightly as he stared at Louis who was now walking down the stairs like a prince, one who had many maids waiting for him and it didn’t matter how much it angered Daniel, Louis wouldn’t change.
“Well brother, it seems you’ve fallen for that girl, quite a lot at that” he said with a smirk as he started walking around Daniel and when he got pissed at this, he held on Louis’ collar as he stared at him with anger.
“You don’t want to know what I’ll do to you if you even do as much as hurt Kathryn ” Daniel said and even though Louis was quite scared, he knew he had Daniel where he had always wanted him.
He was older so why was he to be scared of Daniel? He grabbed on to Daniel’s collar too as he stared at him. “Do you want to save her or not?” He asked and Daniel stared at him.
“What’s in it for you?”
“One night.” Louis said and Daniel slowly started to loosen his grip on his collar. “Promise she’ll spend one night with me and trust me, I’ll save her.”
