Jefferson’s POV
“Daria, what happened?” I asked. I was furious because of the issues at the bank. I never thought that I was going to face a problem such as this. JS Bank is the number one bank in the country. The clients were either a JS Bank or a non-JS Bank. It’s just either of the two. Now our clients are declining. I ignored it in the first month because I knew how the economy was. But the decline in three consecutive months is unacceptable.
There must be something going on to make this happen. We have the best service among other banks and I know that first hand. We have bank accounts in competitor banks, so I know. I made sure to be updated with all their services so we wouldn’t be late just in case they think of something really good.
“I already asked every branch to make a detailed report on the issues that may cause this and they will be submitting it at the end of the day.” she replied, but that doesn’t answer my question. I’m pretty sure that the board will probably call for a meeting and will surely take this chance to oust me.
“Tell them I needed it before lunch. As much as possible, I wanted to deal with the problem today. You know how those greedy old men are waiting for something like this to happen.” I replied and she nodded before she went out of my office to do her thing.
Purchasing a share in the Arts and Crafts will probably be included in the meeting if they ask for it. That was different from the Scott Group, but I didn’t want to disturb Celina’s happiness and worry, so I had to deal with this at the soonest possible time.
It has been three months since she started working and I can see that she enjoys doing it. I was sure that she really liked doing designs and everything she did was fantastic. In just three months, a lot of clients were contacting Dennis in the hope that they would be able to do a job for them. I shouldn’t let my company get in.
I go to the internet and look for something that may lead me to anything. All the social media are flooded with everything anyone would want to know. It could build or destroy someone’s career if it wants to. I browsed on the bank’s social media account and found some complaints. The customer service responded well, so I think everything was settled.
I continued browsing and most of the complaints were the same. It was because someone withdrew their money without them knowing. That’s very disturbing and should have been reported to me, so why the hell am I not informed? I called Daria and she came in immediately.
“Sit,”
“Tell the customer service head to give me a detailed report of all the complaints they received including their status. I needed that before lunch as well” I said, then she rushed out of my office. Now I had to wait for them, and while doing so, I decided to browse other Scott Group businesses.
There was nothing to worry about if I was not the one looking. But because it was me, I can see that there were complaints even in the JS Hotel, Resort and Casino. Again, the customer service responded really well. We didn’t receive such a massive number of complaints before and if I were to put myself in clients and customers’ shoes, I would think that the service is not good.
“They have a lot of complaints like that, even if it was answered, it will still leave a negative impact on the company no matter how fast we resolve the issue. I thought for a while about what I should do. Then it hit me, I had to check the legitimacy of the complaints. If they were actually our clients and customers or not? I called Daria again. This time, I told her to find someone she knew who would be able to help us trace all the complaints that we had online.
I had a feeling that this was all but a move by someone who wanted me out of the company. There’s no way that I am going to make that happen because the Scott Group is mine. That was the same reason that it was named after our family. I am not going to let others or outside my family take it away from me, Celina and our future children.
The company itself was my mom and dad’s legacy that they passed to me. Even if Norris was my half brother, he still didn’t have a tiny bit of the right to be its owner as well. And whoever tries to take this from me will have to face consequences and suffer.
All morning, my eyes were on my laptop and I forgot about Celina for the first time. I will just make it up to her when we get home. I just hope that by the end of today, I already have an answer to all my questions and a solution to my problems, even if it was just wishful thinking.
I even forgot about lunch and didn’t notice the time, I was so engrossed with what I was doing and totally forgot about everything and didn’t notice that Celina was already in front of me. “Eat this,” she said, so I looked up to her. She was glaring at me, so I looked into my watch and looked back at her. “Is this how you work? Forget about your lunch after you forget about me?” she asked,
“Nothing like that, I was just busy and didn’t notice the time. Have you had your lunch?” I asked, while I got up from my seat and reached for her. She took my hand as she walked closer until I had her sit on my lap, when I sat back.
“Of course, do you think that I am going to wait for you?” she asked, raising a brow. I chuckled because I knew that she didn’t mean it. I know how much she likes to eat with me and so do I.
“Make sure that you have already eaten because I am going to blame myself for not taking care of you properly.” I replied, which earned me a kiss from her.
“No matter how busy you are, see to it that you will be able to have your meal. You won’t be on your wits if you’re hungry,” she said after. I nodded, smiling at her. I’m so lucky to have her. “Now, what’s our problem?” she asked, and I chuckled.
“Nothing for you to worry about and I can’t handle,” I replied,
“But enough for you to forget your lunch, and me?” She’s really persistent.
“Some complaints to the company,” I replied,
“As in the Scott Group itself?”
“Every Scott group’s company.”
“Well, receiving complaints was natural. You know there’s nothing perfect and no matter how much we try to please and give our clients and customers satisfaction, they will always find something to complain about. It’s human nature.” she said, “But, if it happened to every business at the same time, I think there’s something odd. What do you think?”
She think fast. She’s really a genius. “You already look into competitors’ social media accounts as well, I presume,” he said, and I nodded. “And they are not facing the same problems as yours, even if we have the best services, right?” I nodded again,
“Consider it settled, my Celina. I know what to do.” I told her, smiling.
“Then why the hell didn’t you eat your lunch and call me if you already know what to do?” she asked angrily. I sighed and she didn’t like it because she creased her forehead,
“You already have an answer and a solution, why do you have to do everything?” she asked again, then capped my face and had her face closer to mine. I just looked at her and when our lips almost touched, she said,
“You had to give me a hell of a fu** later as your punishment.” a smile formed on my lips and I said,
“You’re getting bolder and bolder my Celina.”
“It’s because you took my shame away when you insisted on making love with me relentlessly when I reek of sweat and foul odor.” she replied,
“And I never regret that,” I replied and claimed her lips. She responded to me with the same intensity that we almost fu** with our clothes on. I didn’t want to, but she stopped me and made me eat my lunch. I think I need to sort everything out in the company soon.
