Jefferson’s POV
This friend of Celina is really testing my patience. Does she really think that I am going to let go of my wife just like that and jump at her after? She must be delirious to think that way. Because she’s not going to stop at all, I will have to deal with her first.
“Hello, continue the plan for Xia.” I said and ended our call. Xia’s life was pitiful, but I guess she was full of hatred and jealousy. That’s why she was doing this to my wife. Having a miserable life, she wanted Celina to have that as well. But I am not going to let that happen. For sure, even if I am not aware, Celina definitely won’t be like her. She managed to take care of herself when she was living with Nicholson and I think she was really smart to be able to protect herself. She managed to finish her studies with flying colors.
Xia, on the other hand, had so much self-pity and engulfed herself with jealousy over Celina’s achievement. She could have tried to get away from the life that she was in because, if she really wanted to, she could do it. Now, she wanted Celina’s life. She wanted everything that my wife had accomplished and I am not going to let that happen.
Based on the investigation report, her biological parents took her back from the orphanage. Maybe she was very happy that time, being able to live with her real parents. But because her parents were both doing illegal acts and had been consumed with drugs, they didn’t care about her anymore. Instead, they used her to earn a profit. She had been sold to different gamblers in their house and I don’t think that she will be able to change. Because if she did, she should have done that after meeting Celina again, but she didn’t.
I waited in my office for the result of the raid on Xia’s parent’s house which I planned with the investigator. In this way, I can still help her to start over again and, hopefully, she will really change.
“Hello,” dad answered. I decided to call him and ask about Celina’s adoptive parents.
“Dad, I want to know more about the Nicholson couple.” I said,
“Are they behind the attack on Celina on the internet?” he asked.
“Yes and two more,” I replied.
“I am going to send you everything I found out about them. I should have dealt with them after your wedding but I thought they will just let Celina go just as they agreed.” he told me,
“As in agreement?” I asked.
“Yes, Celina agreed to marry you on the condition that they would not approach her or talk to her in the future. That Celina had no more obligations to them and that she was free from them forever,” Dad replied.
“I see, then I am going to be the one who will make them pay for what they just did.” I told him,
“Who are the other two?” he asked. I know that he was curious because he was concerned and worried for Celina.
“Xia, her friend from the orphanage and Wendy.”
“So, your ex has started to make a move?” he asked and I sighed. I didn’t want him to say anything anymore.
“Don’t worry, I will make sure to stop her.”
“I’m sure that you will,” he replied and hung up. I didn’t think that Wendy was this desperate as well. Does she think that I am going to come back to her? Then she’s dreaming, I only want to f*** and make love with my Celina and no one else. I don’t know what in her p**** but I only want her and no one else. Maybe because I took her innocence. I am not that shallow and even if Wendy was no longer a virgin when I had her, I still liked her.
Now, I consider marrying Celina as the best thing that ever happened to me, so I am going to protect her and our marriage life. When we have children, I will make sure to protect and love them as well.
“Daria,” I called over the intercom,
“Yes Sir,” she said as she entered my office.
“tell the IT department to take down all of the comments about my wife. The person responsible for those comments has been found by the investigator I hired and I have already sent to your email the result of the investigation. Give those to them as it will help them do their job.” I informed her and she nodded.
I was about to leave my office when the investigator called me. “It is done Sir, you can watch the news online and live.” he said,
“Thank you, we will go for the Nicholson’s next,” I replied, and ended our call. Satisfied with the result of everything, I got up from my chair and went out of my office. I still saw Daria on her desk. “Good bye Sir,” she said when she saw me. I nodded my head and went to the elevator and got in. I am excited about seeing Celina now and was thinking of the reward that I am going to ask her to do later.
The key was in the keyhole and I was about to start my car when I received a call from Wendy. I was thinking whether I should answer it or not and decided to hear what she had to say. “What is it?” I asked, annoyed.
“Can we meet? I need to tell you something,” she answered.
“About what?”
“About your wife.”
“What about her?”
“Can we just see each other for a moment and discuss it?”
“You can discuss it over the phone.”
“I have to show you something,” she insisted, “I am in a café near your company. The usual place I go to every time I wait for you,” she added. There’s nothing she can say to make me come back to her, but still, I will try to listen to what she has to say.
“Fine,” I replied and drove to the café. She was there sitting, waiting for me and her smile widened after she saw me coming.
“You’re here,” she said and sat down. I sat opposite her because I didn’t want anyone who would see us to think that we were back together. “Wait, I will just get my order,” she said and got up from her seat. She needs to pass through me to be able to go to the counter.
The café was a little crowded and I had to move a little so she could pass. I don’t know if she really lost her balance or not, but she landed on my lap and I caught her out of good will. Then she looked at me and before I could react, she kissed me. I almost threw her when I stood up. I guess everyone was shocked because they were looking at us.
She was grinning from ear to ear and I don’t know why, but I had a bad feeling about it. She had better make sure not to do anything stu*** because I am not going to hold back when I make her pay. “I’m sorry, I was out of balance. My heels got tripped.” she said, but the mischievous grin was still on her face.
“I don’t think we still need to talk.” I said and left her and went home after, looking forward to the reward from my Celina.
