Jefferson’s POV
It was two weeks after the incident with Xia and I still think that she was really something. How can she think that I am going to let Celina divorce me? Although she made me happy at one point when she told me that Celina didn’t want me to leave three years ago. Maybe she was just too shy so she decided to leave our bedroom. I am such an id***, I should have talked to her before I left and everything would have been clearer.
Thinking about what Celina did in the restaurant, I had to thank Xia for that as well. If she had not come that day, she wouldn’t be able to do that and I wouldn’t be able to know that side of her either. I have decided to make her mine and take care of her. It was just so sad that I had let the years pass without calling her.
As for Xia, I will let her slide for now. But the next time she acts that way, I will see to it that I am going to make everything worse for her. In the meantime, I am going to make our marriage like our honeymoon stage. We didn’t actually do that, so I guess it was better late than never.
The company has been working really well, so having dates with my wife would be tolerable. Another thing is, I had reliable people working for me. “Come in,” I said when I heard someone knocking on the door.
Daria came and handed me an invitation. “What’s this?” I asked.
“It was for the anniversary party of the Distellera Sunji,” she answered. “It is one of the bank’s biggest clients and the owner is one of our biggest customers at JS Hotel, Resorts and Casino.” she added.
“I know that, Daria.” I told her and she smiled at me, “What I want to know is, why are you giving me this? You know that I don’t usually attend parties like this,” I informed her.
“I know that, Sir, but I thought that it was a good opportunity for you to bring Ma’am Celina and introduce her to your friends and other businessmen and women,” she replied. I thought for a while and she had a point.
“Then confirm my attendance and plus one.” I told her and she nodded, smiling. What I like about Daria is, she was very dedicated and knows her job really well. She has connections that businessmen like me don’t have. Every time there were difficult situations and needed to finish a project in a rush, she always had a way to settle everything. That’s why I always respect her point of view. Even with Wendy, the fact that I saw her make a face that day, I still didn’t take it against her because I already know her.
“When is the party?” I remembered to ask. I am not the type to look into details like that because I let her inform me and reminded me if necessary.
“It’s in three days from now at 5 pm.” she replied.
“Then schedule an appointment at Allaine’s,” I told her and she nodded. I knew that she understood what I wanted to do and left my office. I took my phone after and called my beautiful wife.
“What is it?” she asked, annoyed, and I chuckled.
“When your husband called, shouldn’t you ask him how he was at work?” I asked, teasing.
“Why would I want to know how my husband is doing now?” she asked in return.
“Of course, you might be afraid that your very handsome husband was playing with fire with other sexy and alluring women.” I replied.
“I won’t be afraid of that because I can play fire with any hottie I want.” she replied, and I didn’t like that.
“Just don’t get caught by me because I’m sure to break your neck,” I warned.
“Stop teasing if you don’t know how to accept one,” she replied, and ended the call. I got mad and what she had said came to mind, so I called her again.
“What is it!” she asked angrily.
“I am going to get you at 2. Be ready but wear casually. We’re going somewhere.”
“I am busy,” she replied.
“Be ready at 2 Celina, otherwise, you are gonna get a hard f*** later.” I warned her. I would love it if she disobeyed me though. I would just schedule another day at Allaine’s. I didn’t hear anything until she ended our call. I chuckled thinking how pissed she was. I continued working after I informed Daria about my plan on getting Celina.
When I arrived, Celina was ready, waiting in the living room. She stood up as soon as she saw me. “You look perfect.” I told her, which made her roll her eyes at me and I chuckled.
“I was only wearing a skirt and a crop top,” she told me.
“Exactly, that’s why you look perfect.” I replied. “I can finger f*** you even when I am driving and play your ni****s as well.” I added and her face turned red.
“I am going to change,” she said, and was about to rush to the stairs, but I stopped her.
“I was only kidding.” I told her and she glared at me, then we started walking back to my car. I opened the passenger seat door for her and went to the driver’s seat after she settled down. I started the car and looked at her,
“What?” she asked.
“Because you forgot to do it, I will do the honors.” I said and pulled her head as I closed my face to her, then kissed her until I was satisfied and that’s when we were almost out of breath.
“Where are we going?” she asked instead. I didn’t answer her and started driving. I’m pretty sure that she was already pissed because of that. She’s not the type to repeat what she said and I liked that about her because she was confident.
I parked my car when we reached the boutique and she asked me, “What are we going to do here?” she asked, confused, until I got out of the car and opened the door for her.
“We will be attending an anniversary party of one of our clients.” I told her and led her inside the boutique.
“Mr. Scott.” Allaine greeted me when she saw me. I nodded my head at her and pointed to Celina, saying, “She needed a dress for the anniversary party of Distellera Sunji.” she looked at my wife and she said,
“No problem.” Celina looked at me with her creased forehead,
“Just follow her.” I told her and she did it. I was shocked for a moment, but I felt happy because she didn’t argue with me anymore.
I waited for them in the waiting area and I was sure that they would take a long time, so I decided to take my phone and realize that I had left it in the car, so I got up and went back to the parking lot. It was ringing exactly when I got it and found Daria’s name. I stayed in the car for a while and talked to her because she was asking about the advertising agency that we had a contract with we who does all of our advertisement and promotional campaigns.
“Just tell them to make a draft and present it to me,” I told her.
“Alright Sir.” she replied and I hung up. I put my phone in my pocket as I went back inside the boutique, only to be surprised to see Celina fighting with Wendy. She was about to slap Wendy but I stopped her. Then I took Wendy’s hand and pulled her out of the boutique. I don’t know what she was doing here because, as far as I know, she was broke and there’s no way that she could afford all the dresses and gowns here unless she already had a man who provided for her.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked her with a stoic face.
“Your wife started it,” she replied. I don’t believe her as Celina would never start a fight with anyone unless she was provoked.
“I know my wife, do you think that I am going to believe your lies?” I asked her and her eyes widened.
“We have been together for so long and yet you choose to believe her over me?” she asked, looking hurt. I already know what kind of woman she was and there’s no way that I am going to believe her for sure.
“Yes, I know my wife and I know that if I don’t come back in time, you will be borrowing a face from a dog. So don’t provoke her. I didn’t want to cross paths with you, so you had better stay away from places that I was in and never do what you had done earlier, whatever it is.” I warned her and went back inside the boutique and found Celina sitting on the couch.
“Let’s go home,” she said and got up.
“Are you done choosing your dress?” I asked her and then I looked at Allaine, who couldn’t look at me either. Just what had happened when I was out?
“You should have told me that we are going to buy a dress for me because I know somewhere and someone credible. You just took me to a knockoff designer,” she said, and headed out. I looked at Allaine before I followed her. She was a designer herself, so I believed her, of course, and just as she wanted, we went home and I got a little curious about what had happened.
