Celina’s POV
With everything that the board said about me, there’s no way that I am going to stop myself to prove them wrong. I will make sure to slap my performance to their faces. Jefferson was a good teacher, he explained to me everything I needed to learn and I had a feeling that he was amazed at how much I learned fast too.
We were in his office and was telling me about the people that I can consult in the company if there was something I was confused with when Noris knocked and got in. Noris is now the vice president of the company and we will be working together when Jefferson leaves the country.
“Daria handed me this, she said to give this to you when I passed by her table.” He said and handed a folder to Jefferson. He took it and had a look. “Hello Celina, how have you been?” Noris asked me and I smiled at him saying,
“I’m fine.”
“Having trouble so far?”
“No, not at all.” I replied.
“That’s good,” he replied and I knew that he was going to tell me more but Jefferson stopped him.
“What is it that you need?” The smile on Noris face vanished immediately as he turned to see Jefferson.
“Dad told me to come and make sure that I help Celina as well.” He replied.
“There’s nothing that you can do here, you may leave us.” Jefferson said so I looked at him. Why would he say that to Noris who did nothing at all.
“Celina, look into these after you understand that file that you are holding.” He said to me and handed me the folder that Noris brought from Daria.
“Jefferson it was dad who told me to—–”
“I already said you’ve nothing to do here. What Celina is learning now is management. When I left and she needed you to do something or ask you something related to work then you could assist her. For now, there’s nothing that you can teach her that I didn’t know.” Jefferson dismissed Noris who left without saying a word.
We were left in his office and I was glaring at him which didn’t go unnoticed to him. “What, you didn’t want him to leave?” He asked angrily as though I was the one who had been harsh to his brother.
“Is that how you talk to your brother?” I asked.
“As far as I know, I am an only child. So I don’t know who’s brother you are talking about.” He replied, which made Celina roll her eyes at him.
“Whatever, but we are in the office so act civil with each other.” I told him. I will be left with Noris when he leaves so I need to be good to him. He was also my friend so talking to him and asking something I didn’t know when the time came would be very easy.
He will be going to be my ally because I know that those old board directors will target me everywhere just so they could remove me from my position. I will never let them do that, I am going to fight for my right. I married Jefferson so it was natural that the president position is mine to take. Another thing is, I am smart.
The days pass really fast and tomorrow Jefferson will be leaving for Kenom and will be gone for three years. Just what is he going to do there for that long? Doesn’t he have anyone he could trust to manage everything there or he just wanted to leave because of me? Because he didn’t want to stay in the same house with me.
I was busy with studying the last part of my training when Jefferson talked to me, “I am going to go out with my friends. I will be leaving the driver so he will be able to drive for you.” he said and I nodded and went back to what I was doing. I didn’t want to bother him so instead of spending his time with me before he left, he chose to stay with his friends. I wonder if it was his friends really or his girlfriend.
Jefferson left the office and when I was sure that he was out, I looked at the door where he left. It was already closed and I know that even if I try to stop him, he will never listen to me. I give my full attention to the files in front of me and try my hardest to understand everything. Tomorrow, Jefferson will no longer be here so I should do what I needed to do. And that is to focus on my work.
“Come in,” I said when I heard a knock on the door, then I looked there and saw Noris emerging, smiling. I had to smile back at him even if my thoughts were with Jefferson.
“Still busy?” he asked and I nodded.
“I needed to learn this because I didn’t want to disappoint John.” I replied and he smiled at me.
“Just don’t overworked yourself. No matter what you do now, it was fine because you are new here and we’re just starting to learn everything about the business in one go.” he said and I appreciate his concern. He wasn’t pressuring me, unlike his brother whom I was sure was having a good time now.
“Where is Jefferson?” he asked after a few minutes.
“He said he will be seeing his friends.” I replied nonchalantly. I didn’t want him to get an idea that I was pissed with his brother.
“I see, then who are you going to be with when you get home?” he asked again. “Do you want me to send you home?” he asked again before I could reply.
“No, Jefferson didn’t bring his car with him and he told me that he already informed the driver to send me home.” I answered. I didn’t want to be close to him other than work related reasons. I didn’t want Jefferson to get any idea about me and his brother or cause humor that may lead Jefferson to misunderstand. He was far away and it would be natural for him to get mad when a news about me getting intimate with his brother spread. No, that is definitely not good.
“OK, as long as you’re safe. I will just wait for you to finish so I will be able to show you where the car is.” he said and then I continued with my studies. I didn’t notice the time and it was already late. I even forgot to have my dinner but I decided to eat at home instead.
“Hi, I’m back.” Norris when he gets in after he knocks. “It’s already late so I assume you’re done.” he said and Daria emerged from behind him.
“Hello Sir Noris,” she greeted him before she look at me,
“The car is ready Ma’am Celina. The driver is waiting for you.” Daria said and then I looked at Noris.
“Thank you for your concern. Daria is very dependable, I guess.” I told him and we laughed together then I followed Jefferson’s assistant. She opened the door for me when we reached the car.
“Take care ma’am Celina and goodnight.” she said and then I smiled at her as well.
“Thank you, you take care on your way home too.” I told her.
At home, I decided to rest in my room for a while after I took a bath and changed my clothes. I decided to eat a little later and close my eyes for a while. I feel so tired and I knew that I needed a rest.
I didn’t notice that I slept and when I opened my eyes, I was hungry. I went to the kitchen and got myself some food to eat. Then I washed my plates and went back to my room.
I was ready to go back to sleep again when I heard a knock on my door. I stood up and opened it only to find Susane with a weary look on her face. “Sir Jefferson is back with his friend,” he said.
“And so?” I asked, confused. Why did she have to tell me that?
“Can you take care of him because he was drunk.” she said. There’s nothing wrong with that so I came with her to Jefferson’s room and there I found him with a man.
“You must be his wife. I’m sorry, I made him like this. Anyway, he will still get up early because he was like that.” he said and then I nodded and then looked at Jefferson who was now lying on his bed. “I will go ahead now. Please take care of my friend.” he added and went to the door followed by Susane.
“I am going back to my room, after I send him out.” she said before she got out of the room and then closed the door. I looked at Jefferson and then I started to untie his necktie and unbuckle his belt. I removed his shoes and then socks. I went back to his long sleeves and started to unbutton it as well. I was pulling it out, being tucked in when his hand stopped me.
I looked at him and found him looking at me as well. “Don’t get any idea, I was just trying to make you feel comfortable in your sleep.” I told him with wide eyes. He didn’t reply so I thought it was fine already. But after I pulled out his long sleeves successfully, he pulled me which made me fall on top of him. I was ready to nag at him but my mouth met his.
He was kissing me!!!
