I drove Dominic to our private beach after Richard Vera permitted us to be ourselves on his land. Marian agreed to assist me in preparing our meal, and Dominic was surprised to learn that I had used my nanny’s name.
“What made you feel the need to make up your name? Oh, my goodness! Juliana, I felt so humiliated!” he screamed.
“Let’s get on with it, okay? “It has already occurred,” I informed him.
Dominic sighed, but nothing could change what had happened before. We can either linger on it or forget about it and concentrate on the present. “I wish you hadn’t lied about your name because it feels strange, especially when we first made love,” he remarked.
“You’re right, but then we won’t be able to modify it.” I reasoned out, “I already lied.”
“And I don’t think I’ll be able to control your sass, you know, it’s just natural.”
“Don’t try to micromanage me, Dominic,” I advised him because it was not going to work.
“I didn’t say I’d do it. He joked, “I’m only scared about my safety.”
“Are you kidding me? Anyway, do you think he’ll chastise us today for skipping lunch?” I inquired of my companion, but all he did was shrug his shoulders.
“Don’t overthink it, Juliana, but I hope he won’t force me to marry you,” he said as I came to a halt and stared at him.
His words offended me. “Unless I instruct him to force you,” I joked, but deep down, his remarks wounded my pride and me.
I wondered what was wrong with him as he grabbed one of my arms and his eyes fired daggers at me. I jerked his hand away and furrowed my brows, but he persisted and called my name loudly. “Are you sure you don’t want to marry me?” ” he inquired.
“Don’t get me mixed up, Dominic. Is that a proposal or a non-proposal?” I followed up with a new query. Why did he became enraged in the first place? He should be grateful that I didn’t ask my father to force him to marry me in the first place because he despised marrying me!
“I’m sorry, bitch, but I don’t understand you. He stated, “You said you wanted me.”
I reasoned, “Of course I want you, and we’re already happy.”
“So, marriage isn’t required?” He inquired.
“I believe so.”
“You can be pregnant, but I don’t want an illegitimate child.” He made an announcement, which only made me feel worse.
“You know what, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I went away, scowling at him.
“Wait, Julia! He exclaimed, “I said I wanted to marry you!”
“That’s not the kind of proposition I want to hear from you, Dominic,” I remarked as I spun around to face him.
He said, “I need you.”
“I need you as well, but we shouldn’t rush things between us; we’re still young, and we’ve only been lovers for a few days,” I promised him I wouldn’t be gone that I wouldn’t abandon him, but we couldn’t rush into marriage.
“You are correct; let us proceed cautiously.” He caught on to what I was saying, and we strolled towards the main house together, holding one other’s hands.
When we decided to go home, it was now dark, and I wondered why there seemed to be so much bustle inside. “What the hell is going on?” Marian, who had patiently waited for me in the foyer, was the one who inquired.
She said, “You have a visitor.”
Because I didn’t expect anyone to pay me a visit at home, I furrowed my brow and made a face. Apart from that, I don’t have any actual pals outside of work. As a result, I was curious as to who the guest was.
I muttered to Dominic, “I don’t know why, but I feel like something is going on inside.”
“Sshhhh, Juliana, you’re overthinking it again. Relax.” “I promise your father will not harm you.” He reassured me, but I was unconcerned about it at all.
I didn’t think it had anything to do with my personal relationship with Dominic because he was already aware of it. What if it turned out to be my mother who had risen from the dead? No, I suppose that would be shocking.
When I recognized one of his visitors, I gasped for air. Dominic lunged quickly and targeted the other man’s throat before I could respond. To catch their attention, I shouted, and my father yelled like thunder.
“Why did you invite him here, Pa?” I inquired.
“He came with his relatives,” Richard said, and Dominic’s expression fell flat when I looked at him.
“Has something gone wrong?”
He replied, “No, nothing,” but he was frightened, and then he grabbed Keith and dragged him around the corner.
I was concerned that they would collide, but this did not occur. They just sat and spoke for a while, and then some others joined us. When she saw Keith and Dominic, the lady in red, whom I knew as Ethan’s mother, gasped in astonishment.
“Ethan!” exclaims the speaker. “What brings you here?” She inquired, and I pondered who he referred to as Ethan.
I looked around the home to see if my alleged fiancé was present, but aside from Keith and Dominic, Ethan’s parents and my father were the only ones present. When I realized that my fiancé could be either Keith or Dominic, I felt a cold shudder run down my spine.
I sincerely prayed it wasn’t the latter since I’d be devastated!
“Mom,” Dominic addressed his mother, and I nearly fell over.
“Ethan Dominic, could you please clarify what happened? I wasn’t expecting to see you here after sending us a letter to void the engagement formally! What exactly is going on? “What the hell is going on, Richard?” She looked to my father for an explanation, but Richard was unavailable. Vera was likewise taken aback.
Everyone was surprised to learn that I had been living with my fiancé all along. Dominic couldn’t look me in the eyes when I looked at him. “Dom…,” I murmured.
“Baby…,” he began, and then he looked at me with a sad expression on his face.
Could that possibly compare to the disappointment I’m experiencing right now? For the love of God, he recognized me as Juliana Vera! “You’re a tyrant, Dom,” I told him because his nice words made me believe them. I was overjoyed when he said that our status would not be an issue.
“Baby, I’ll tell you what’s going on! He added, “I advised them to cancel it before I met you, but they went on a holiday.”
He tried, but I refused to listen to him any longer. “First and foremost, you’ve never liked me as Richard’s daughter. You even informed me my father was involved in illicit activity,” I reminded him of our previous talk, which astonished everyone in the room.
My father erupted in a thunderous shout, aiming for Dominic’s throat. Keith jumped in to save his pal, and Ethan’s parents were taken aback by the chaos right in front of their eyes!
“What the hell is going on?” Ethan’s mother inquired, but no one was available to answer her question at the time.
I was afraid they’d go for each other’s throats at any moment. It was the first time I saw Dominic and my father acting out of character. Both of them were enraged!
“Keith, it’s all your fault!” You shouldn’t have been here in the first place! You have no right to be so bold!” When I felt Keith was to blame for all of the problems between my father and my boyfriend, I blamed him.
“I promise I had no idea you lived here.” He responded.
“Then why did you come?” says the narrator. I inquired, but as he was going to explain, I interrupted him. “Pa put a stop to it!” Keith assisted me in stopping both men from killing each other when I shouted.
Juliana, please accept my apologies. Dominic remarked this as he moved to the door. I followed him, perplexed, but he cautioned me to stay put.
“Dominic, hold your horses!” I ignored his warning and dashed after him, but my father intervened. “Papa, I adore him!” exclaims the child. I loathed my father’s decision to block the door, and all I could do was cry when I realized I wouldn’t see him again. “Papa, let me go to him.” I pleaded.
“I told you no!” He gave the order.
