“How about me?” Hera was the one who inquired.
“How do you feel, sweetheart?” When Dominic inquired, the woman gulped for air. Hera’s eyes flared with rage in my direction, and before Dominic could intervene, she strode over to me and grabbed my hair.
“How dare you!” She screamed angrily.
When Hera attacked me, I was caught off guard. I was speechless and unable to respond! Dom’s voice was the one that jolted me out of my stupor. Then I strained all of my effort to flee Hera, but the woman had gone insane and was clutching my hair fiercely.
“Hera, put an end to it right now!” He spoke up, but Hera ignored him, and all he could do was gasp as her sharp nails scraped my face.
When Hera’s long nails pierced my skin, I felt a sting and knew it would leave a mark afterward. “Do you think you’re crazy?” I yelled at Hera, but she merely laughed hysterically.
I shifted my gaze to Dom, glaring at him since it was his fault. I suffered at the hands of his mistress as a result of him. I frowned at Dom when he finally managed to separate Hera and me.
“Marian, please go to your room right now.” He gave orders while never letting go of Hera’s grip.
Did he worry that as soon as Hera’s hands were free, she’d attack me? Perhaps this was the case because he waited until I had left the dining hall before approaching Hera to speak. Of course, I did not go to my room and overhear their conversation. I hide in one of his house’s corners.
“What was it you were talking about earlier?” Dominic enquired about his favorite women. Hera locked her gaze on the guy she had hoped to marry in the previous months.
“What do you mean by letting us go, Dom?” She inquired.
He let out a heavy sigh before opening his mouth to speak. “I’m not obligated to explain myself to you, sweetheart.” He gave a frigid response. His remark mortified Hera, but she wasn’t the type to back down.
“It’s because of her. You preferred her to me!” She screamed.
“No, it is not correct. “I just grew bored and want to try something new,” he explained.
“But I adore you!” Hera exclaimed and threw herself at him. “Damn, Dom, I adore you!” She repeated herself.
He took a big breath and pushed her away from his body slowly. “What do you love me for? In exchange for my money?”
Hera cringed at his harsh words when he asked. Hera grumbled bitterly when Dom accused her of being a gold-digger, saying, “Just because I’m not affluent doesn’t mean I’m a gold-digger, Dom.”
“Aren’t you Hera?” How can you expect me to believe you when your family is ruined?” He put her on the spot.
Dom’s inquiry into Hera’s origins astounded Hera. “Did you come to check on me?” She inquired further.
“It’s true. It’s the standard operating procedure for everyone who comes here,'” he responded. “You could have asked me!” She screamed angrily.
“Hera, it’s not a huge issue, and I’m not going to use it against you.” He reassured her, but she shook her head and gave him a hard stare.
“You did it before, Dom. Are you aware of how ruthless you are? I hope you meet someone who will confront the beast within you in the future!” Dom should have a bad fate, Hera wished.
I couldn’t blame Hera for being angry with Dominic after being duped, manipulated, and mistreated while listening to them. Even though she was fairly rewarded, the emotional suffering she endured was far greater than she deserved!
I truly felt sorry for her.
He apologized to Hera for leading her to assume they had a future together. “When you signed the contract, I assumed you knew what you were getting yourself into.”
“When did I do that?” He inquired.
“Don’t worry, Dom. I’ll go with the other woman, and I hope we won’t see each other again anytime soon. Because if that happens, I may do something regrettable.”
She had warned him.
Dominic agreed with a nod, but I could tell from his look that he was certain he and Hera would never cross paths again. It’s not going to happen! They went around in different circles, and the woman’s family business had failed.
“Well, then, let’s not meet again in the future.” Dominic declared, and I concluded that he is cold and callous.
I wished I could console Hera for how she had been treated, but the woman had already left, and she was furious with me. For the nth time, I sighed deeply and hoped that Dominic would one day understand his errors.
I walked silently towards my room, not because he told me to, but because I needed to think things over. His demeanor had previously forced me to second-guess my decision to fall for him.
I used to believe that falling in love was more than simply a feeling or emotion; it was difficult to make. Even though I didn’t believe in true love or marriage, I was ready to fall in love with Dominic. He’s the one individual who has swayed my opinion, yet his demeanor is repulsive, and I didn’t want it.
Even though it was eleven o’clock in the evening, I was still fully awake. I let the cold breeze come in through the sliding window in my bedroom. When I looked up, there were no stars in the sky. The bitter breeze warned me that it was about to rain in a few minutes as dark clouds gathered over me. I started a countdown with my phone’s timer and smiled when the first drop of rain fell in less than five minutes.
Houses in Dominic’s area were no longer visible from my location as it poured heavily. On a clear night, I used to gaze and enjoy the magnificent houses from afar, but it appeared I wouldn’t be able to do so tonight. But, at the very least, it was simply pouring; thunder and lightning would have been terrifying.
When I decided to lie down in my bed, I opened the windows to listen to the rain as it fell on the roof. I closed my eyes and was soon lost in black oblivion while listening to the soothing sound of rain.
The gustiness of the wind, however, awoke me as if a storm was approaching! When a powerful breeze swept into my face as I tried to close the window, I shuddered. After that, I went back to my bed and wrapped myself in the heavy quilt.
When I heard a loud knock outside, I stayed under the quilt. My mind began to construct images of creatures in the dark, and it took me a few seconds to convince myself that there were no monsters within Dominic’s home.
I moved slowly towards the door and listened. When the knocking resumed, I almost went deaf. Before turning the doorknob to open, I rolled my eyes into my head.
“It’s getting late, Dom. “What are you looking for?” I enquired after noticing him outside my room. When he was forced to enter my bedroom, he did not answer and shoved me aside.
I called out his name, but perhaps he was exhausted. “Let me sleep here,” he whispered as he climbed into the quilt.
“Wait, what? “Would you like to sleep here?” I stammered as I questioned his decision to sleep in my room.
“I’m a gentleman, Marian,” I say. You don’t have to be afraid of me, common.” He remarked, motioning for me to sleep next to him.
To believe he’s a gentleman is like believing the planet is flat, but I’m not a coward, and I’d follow our deal no matter what.
I inflated the pillows and joined him haughtily. “Are we going to do it right now?” I inquired quietly, but Dom responded with a booming chuckle. With his quick comment, he teased me, “Hmmm, maybe.”
When I heard it, I panicked for no reason since, as I was thinking about my possibilities, Dominic fell asleep and snored near me.
His body could be fatigued from all the bustle within his home… and, of course, from his multiple ladies. I listened to his snoring and quickly developed a smile in the corner of my mouth as I watched him sleep soundly.
I awoke alone in the morning, and I found myself aching for him beside me. Nothing happened on our first night together in a single bedroom.
I couldn’t help but wonder if I wasn’t at all appealing! He was supposed to do the things he usually did with Hera or the other girls, but he was sleeping with me!
It had been several weeks after the harem had been disbanded, and for once, he didn’t try to bed me. While it was advantageous to me, I had anticipated him to assert his right to what was clearly his. I waited for him to claim me as his wife for several days, but he never did.
I was conscious of his presence one evening as we were lying next to one other. I was acutely conscious of his male odor. I wanted to be the first to touch him, but I didn’t know where to start.
When Dom turned to face me, my gaze immediately shifted away from him. I was terrified, to be sure, but I couldn’t deny the fact that my body adored him!
When he softly touched my face, I slowly called his name, “Dom.” He seemed preoccupied with something running through his mind, but I couldn’t figure out what it was.
“Close your eyes and go to sleep, Marian.” He murmured something, then turned around to face me… again! I muttered something about the man’s attitude. He has the audacity to make me believe it will happen once and for all! But why did I feel offended when he turned away from me?
I should be grateful that despite living with a man like Dominic, I could retain my sanity! “Do you think me repulsive and unattractive?”
“Disgusting and unattractive? Certainly not! You are, without a doubt, the gorgeous lady I have ever encountered, but there was something about you that I couldn’t understand.” I wanted to respond, but then I heard him snoring once more!
I was mortified when I suddenly heard him snoring! I wanted to whack his skull for pretending to sleep while I gazed at his broad shoulder! I closed my eyes to sleep, disappointed by the man’s cowardly move, and a few moments later, I was already in dreamland.
When the morning arrived, he was gone again, and I felt lost. Dominic may have returned to his room when I was fast asleep. I secretly prayed that one day I would wake up and see him standing alongside me.
I couldn’t help but sigh in disappointment that another day had been lost because Dominic continued to be obstinate when he was with me. I knew he was used to having a woman every night and that sleeping with them wasn’t the only thing he did.
Dominic, what happened to him? Why did he suddenly change? Before I removed my pajamas, I opened the window to allow fresh air into my bedroom. I walked into the bathroom, barefoot, to take a short shower, and screamed my lungs out when I saw a man inside!
I was so taken aback when I saw Dom inside that I forgot about my nakedness for a moment. He awoke with a bad headache when I screamed and chose to wash his face first before returning to his room.
He pointed to my breast as if it were nothing and remarked, “You should put something on to cover that.”
In the morning, I noticed him surveying the greatest view he could obtain and grumbling when he felt himself getting a hard-on.
“G-good morning, Dominic,” I greeted him, but it was something else that returned my greetings.
