The next morning, I was feeling slightly better since recently I’ve been feeling light headed and sick. I honestly thought it was because I was travelling but turns out your girl is carrying a wee baby.
Well not a baby yet its way early to be that confident.
I smiled when I felt his arm wrapped around my waist. When I began to move he quickly tightened his hold and started to run his fingers up and down my stomach.
Ever since we arrived from our trip away Renzo has been so careful with me.
I have to keep convincing him that I am completely fine and there is nothing to worry about but he isn’t having any of it.
“stop moving and go back to sleep you need your rest” he mumbles to me. Hang on here since when was he awake.
I rolled my eyes, I’ve barely got a bump right now I’m about as healthy as I was a month ago.
“I need to pee, you know pregnancy makes you pee more, “I say waiting for his reaction. It was only after a few agonising seconds before he finally let me go.
I loved that he was so protective of me and the baby growing inside me however he needed to know that he can relax for the next few months.
Walking out from the bathroom, Renzo was already up and finishing getting ready. Today he is back to work getting ready for his upcoming race and there is a lot of shoots and interviews he has to do.
“I can go by myself you know,” I told him as I pulled on a jacket since it was a bit cold today. Renzo thought that he needed to delay his first shoot this morning so he could come with me to the doctors.
He’s being ridiculous though.
He glared at me shaking his head “absolutely not, I’m not risking you using that as leverage over me” he was serious but I could sense the humour in his words.
“can’t have you running off to my mother telling her I wasn’t supporting you enough can I” he walked closer to me gently holding my face in his fingers.
Did he really think I would do that? I honestly never thought about it but now that he is saying it.
No, I really would never use that against him.
“fine you can come to this one but next time if you’re busy I’ll get Rachel to come with me” I said to him before walking off to grab my phone.
I watched him glare at me for the next few minutes as I prepared everything for today. He can glare all he wants but I’m sticking to what I said.
We took his car and drove to the hospital to have our first ever check-up with my doctor. We didn’t want to tell anyone at all until we knew for sure that I was pregnant.
Renzo was ignoring me, ever since we left the house he’s been having this constant frown obviously hating the idea of me going alone to these appointments.
But he does have to realise that I’m going to be having a lot more of these appointments and he has a championship to win.
I really don’t want to be the reason he misses his practices or important meetings.
After informing them I was here I was surprised that I was instantly guided to a toilet where I had to take a quick test with their reliable tests.
When I was finished I was called in by one of the female doctors. Renzo followed me inside and sat himself on the guest chairs as I was guided over to the bed so that this woman could give me a body check-up.
As I sat on the bed and the doctor did a quick check she was happy with not finding any abnormal signs that could indicate any problems during pregnancy. Thank god for that, I didn’t really have any bad side affects only the exception of some itching.
Nothing a few pills can’t sort out.
“good news Kristina you’re going to be having a baby and you’re 1 month pregnant.”
My eyes dropped to my stomach in surprise.
I smiled from ear to ear when I heard the news. I looked over to Renzo to hopefully share this joy but instead, his head was inside a leaflet that talked about babies in more depth.
My smile immediately dropped and I quickly turned to the doctor before he could see.
She gave me a sympathetic smile before making me fill out some things. My mind kept going back to him and his pathetic reaction to me simply not letting him come to the other appointments.
She continued to go on and tell me more about the pregnancy and what I should expect. As she was talking I suddenly felt his hand reaching for mine on the bed. I looked over and he was staring at me with those beautiful eyes.
I must be already feeling emotional already because a tear instantly fell down my cheeks. This made me realise that maybe I do want his support through this whole process.
Well now feel like an idiot.
I grasped his hand in mine wanting him closer. The woman’s voice was more like background noise as I had this special moment with him.
“Okay you two, I’ll grab some more information and give you a moment,” she said before sneaking out and leaving us in the room together.
I wasn’t surprised when Renzo got up and walked between my legs kneeling down. “I’m sorry baby,” he said his hands placed at my waist.
He didn’t have to be sorry at all, he was right all along. It’s me who needs to be sorry for being wrong and being selfish because even though I am pregnant this is our baby together.
“no no I should be sorry. I do want you to come with me to these appointments because its our journey and want us to experience it together” I’d be stupid not to want too.
I took hold of his hands ” were having a baby together let’s do this all together as a team” I said with my eyes shining with excitement.
I was overcome with joy when his hands slid over to my belly.
“Together” he whispered gently before the doctor came back in.
Ever since we left the hospital we’ve been smiling from ear to ear. The car was instantly graced with joy and genuine excitement.
We decided that we would probably need to tell his parents sooner than later because Loretta would have our head if she knew we were keeping this from her.
Renzo did have business to take care of so we agreed to go over there tonight for a meal.
Renzo dropped me off at The house where Rachel would probably be lounging Around.
I was suddenly becoming very nervous since I had no idea how she would take it.
Stepping Into the house I found her on the sofa in front of her laptop probably watching some Netflix show.
“Oh god you’re back, fucking finally I thought you’d never come back ” she said standing up from the sofa and coming to me.
I opened my arms and welcomed her into them.
” oh Rachel it was amazing but I would always come back to my girl you know that” she smiled clearly appreciating what I said.
She dragged me over to the sofa
“You have to tell me everything I want all the juicy shit ” she clapped as she bounced on the sofa.
I laughed, god I missed this girl.
“Well he kind of gave me the most amazing gift ever. He reunited me with my family ” I start off by saying.
Her eyes widen clearly shocked at the news.
“Wait what, give me more I need more ”
I breathed ” we went to a villa in Italy and I met my uncle and my grandmother there. They were from my dad’s side and although it was emotional it was just great that I could spend quality time with them”
I was suddenly tackled as Rachel jumped on me wrapping her arms around me.
“Holy shit Tina that’s fucking crazy and amazing ” I could only agree. Lorenzo really did treat me.
” who knew the guy could pull that off ” I laughed at that, even I was surprised frankly. Lorenzo is a gifted man in many areas but keeping secrets tends to me hard for him.
” you have to take me and Tasha sometime and have a first holiday it would be amazing ” she says very excited. I can practically hear her making the plans already.
Honestly I love that idea it’s been a long time since us three have taken a break just as girls.
” we need to celebrate this now, I ordered a brand new bottle of rose that we need to try lemme get it ” she springing from her seat and running over to the kitchen to look for this bottle of rose.
After I was done with my initial reaction I widened my eyes realising I can’t drink.
Fuck, Well maybe this will be the way of telling her.
“No wait we have to bring Tasha into this celebration, let’s go have lunch with her c’mon ” Rachel says jumping around in the kitchen.
Phew, That at least saves me some time to plan this announcement.
I agree to her suggestion and head upstairs to change my clothes since I’m dressed quite casual at the minute.
After getting ready we left the house and met Tasha at a nearby restaurant.
” oh god you look great girls” Tasha says standing up to hug us. She was only round the corner so she arrived here earlier than us.
” says you miss Gucci” I said noticing her Gucci bag and shoes. I was happy that she was using her skills to her own advantage. Her rich boyfriend probably had something to do with it.
Not a bad thing at all.
She lightly shoved me before sitting down at the corner table we were given.
” you have a villa are you for real” she asked me shocked when I told her about my trip to Italy.
” it’s my families, my parents loved there before they died and apparently they wanted me to have it” I explained to them.
I still can’t believe it really. Feels way too dreamy and not a reality.
” good afternoon ladies what can I get for you a drink perhaps?” A young waiter said coming over with an iPad.
Before I could say a thing Rachel beat me to it.
” could we get a bottle of your best rose please we’re celebrating and also could we have 3 orders of the days special” she graced the waiter with our order.
Probably the politest way she’s ever done it before. I quickly turned to him and asked for one glass of water.
When I turned to the girls again I caught there stares.
Well it’s either now or never.
” why aren’t you going to celebrate with us are you on some special diet again ” Tasha says slightly annoyed since I wasn’t joining them.
The last time I went on some diet I got way too skinny and Tasha basically gave me the ultimatum of either get it together or she’s never talking to me again.
She despises most diets that’s why. Doesn’t agree on them.
” no no I’m not I just can’t drink especially when I’m pregnant that’s all” I said way too quickly for any normal person to comprehend.
But, These two aren’t just random people they are my best friends who know me well enough to understand what I just said.
I braved it and looked at both of them waiting for their reactions.
” you’re what now” Rachel was the first one to vocally respond.
I laughed nervously.
” girls I’m pregnant ” I repeated to them much slower this time.
I counted to three before they were both out their seats and were wrapped around me.
” holy fuck Tina you’re preggers”
“I’m going to be an aunt”
They both said at the same time their hands holding onto me gently. With such love and compassion.
This is how I knew I was making the right decision. This is what I needed in my life more than ever.
