Few more days passed, and I got discharged from the hospital.
I used to sleep in my Angel’s room. I keep her wedding gown on one side of the bed and sleep holding it; it gives me a feeling that she is still with me.
Every night I sleep with the hope that tomorrow I will get some news about my Angel.
It’s been two months, but there was no news of my Angel. I was working in my office when Nina knocked on the door and entered my office.
I didn’t interact directly with her after that incident; I didn’t fire her because of her family’s dependency on her.
I asked her, coldly, “What do you need, Miss Nina?”
She looked at me in some hesitation and said, “President, I want to tell you something very important.”
I replied coldly, “You can update your work to Andrew in future, no need to look for me.”
She looked at me with painful eyes, which didn’t affect me at all, and said, “President, it’s personal.”
I stood up from my chair and growled, “Miss Nina, there can be nothing personal between a boss and an employee and don’t forget your position, I didn’t fire you; that doesn’t mean you can walk up to my office anytime you want.”
Nina said immediately, “President, I am pregnant.”
My pen fell from my hands, the moment the pen hit the floor, and the clacking sound brought me back, I said, “Miss Nina, go and abort your child. I am a married man.”
She replied, looking on the floor, “I can’t abort the child; if I did, I might die, and I don’t want to die because there is no one to look after my mother.”
Marco’s POV
It’s been three fucking years, but there was no news of my Angel, I will not lose the hope I will find her, I know she is not dead, it’s just the matter of time, today or tomorrow I will find her.
I have her Goa photo on my working desk; every morning, I talk to her. I feel a little relaxed; whenever I feel stressed, I look at her photo and soothe myself.
I know how much pain she must have suffered that night because of my harsh words. I want her to come back and punish me. I can bear any punishment to get her back.
Even though she has not been with me for the last three years, she has become my heartbeat.
I was lost in my thoughts when Andrew entered my office after knocking on the door, he came in with a notepad in his hands and said, “President, you must see this” saying that he handed over his pad to me.
It was the news about my Angel’s Dad; his company went bankrupt overnight. It was done because some insider had given very important information to a mysterious company.
And the news also said that Mr. Gilbert is looking for that person, the moment he got that person he might kill them.
I handed over the notepad to Andrew and asked, “Why are you showing this to me?”
Andrew said, “President, don’t you feel it’s weird, because Gilberts is not a small company, and then going bankrupt overnight and that too because of a mysterious company.”
I felt annoyed as I was not interested in Gilbert when they never looked for my Angel. Her Dad never looked for her after that incident.
I asked Andrew to leave it and concentrate on my Angel’s search.
Days are passing, but no news of my Angel has hit me.
It was a normal day when Andrew barged in my office and said, huffing puffing, “President, someone has bought our 35% shares.”
I was shocked, who the hell has the guts to buy my shares without my knowledge and that too 35%, which means that person has equal shares as me.
I said, “What company’s name is and why are we not aware of it?”
Andrew said, “President, it seems it was long-planned, at first the news of Gilbert going bankrupt, and after that, there was always commotion in the market about a mysterious company.”
“This was all done to distract us, and they haven’t bought these shares in one go, they did it slowly in the last six months.”
“Andrew, I am tired of hearing about this mysterious company every time, I want all the details about this company,” I growled.
Andrew replied, “President, I have already investigated the company’s name is Smiths corporation. This company is not very old. It’s just a three-year-old company. People say that this company has a strong backup, but that backup is unknown.”
“And President, there are rumors that this company’s CEO is a female, but no one met her till date.”
“President and one more thing, it seems this company had its own targets first Gilbert and now us, we survived because we noticed the sale of our shares on time; otherwise we would have also been bankrupt by now.”
As Andrew finished Nina barged in my office, I shouted on her, “What the fuck are you doing here? I have told you not to enter my office.”
She immediately looked down, sweating and said in a scared voice, “President, please switch on the TV.”
I had a bad feeling now; I immediately switched on the TV and breaking news was Lucas’s company also went bankrupt overnight.
I was stunned; it seems this was more serious than I thought. Although Lucas’s company went bankrupt, he had too much money from his ancestors to live a luxurious life.
