Joel hastily withdrew his head and looked away. He sucked in his lips and looked out through the window.
After a few seconds, he looked back at Emily and cleared his throat awkwardly.
“Yah, why did you wear an exposing dress in this cold. It’s winter, you know?” He frowned.
He took off his coat and drapped it on Emily’s shoulders.
He took Emily’s hands in his and breathed on them, rubbing his hands on her’s.
Emily’s lips curled up in a cute smile as she watched her boyfriend do what he did.
Oh! How she loved the man.
Joel looked up at Emily and planted kisses on her hands.
“Saranghae.” He muttered silently.
“Nado saranghae.” Emily replied.
(A/N: nado saranghae means I love you too.)
Joel smiled.
He stared at Emily’s lips for a few seconds and without saying anything else, he took Emily’s lips in his mouth.
Slowly, he dropped her hands in her laps and cupped her jawlines with his hands as he deepened the kiss, nibbling and sucking on Emily’s lower lip.
With her eyes closed, Emily savoured The CEO’s minty breath as they kissed intensely.
“We are here, Boss.” The chauffeur’s voice brought the duo out of their fantasy.
Emily opened her eyes to meet Joel’s passion filled ones.
He pulled her into himself and wrapped his arms around her, stroking her hair lightly as her breath feathered the crook of his neck.
“Sit on my laps.” He breathed out huskily.
And as if being remotely controlled, Emily did as she was told.
Joel cradled her in his arms and stroked her hair, kissing all over her face from time to time. He wasn’t getting enough of her, and he never would.
“Vincent…” Elder Master Choi called silently as the Chois ate dinner.
Vincent looked up at his grandpa, “nde hal-aboeji..”
“You are going for the anniversary tomorrow right?” Elder Master Choi asked softly as he chewed the food in his mouth.
Nancy dropped the fork in her hand and turned to face her brother. “Uhn… right oppa? We are certainly going.”
“Animnida.” Vincent replied his grandfather.
“Mbo?! Wae?.. huh wae?” Elder Master Choi asked solemnly.
“Don’t tell me you are not yet on good terms with that boy. It’s been so many years now, don’t you think about the future of Choi Entertainment?!” Elder Master Choi thundered angrily.
“All because of a woman you insolent fool!” He slammed his left hand on the dining table and stood up on his feet.
Elder Madam Choi, Nancy and Vincent also stood up on their feet.
“You must attend that party!” Elder Master Choi spoke up again and marched out of the dining room.
Elder Madam Choi stared at Vincent hesitantly before going after her husband.
Nancy pouted her lips and folded her hands as she watched her brother in silence.
It had indeed been years and he still hadn’t let go of his grudges against his best friend. Yuck!
“Oppa you need to forgive and forget.” Nancy advised.
She stood on her toes and kissed Vincent on his cheek, “Annyeon”
She wasn’t going to her bedroom to sleep, of course she was going to test the gown she was wearing to the anniversary.
Even if her brother wasn’t going, she had determined to go alone as Choi Entertainment’s representative.
But since her brother was now going, they would definitely go together. It had been long she last saw the cute oppa Joel, and her cousin. Yeah, her cousin.
Nancy grinned as she stared at her reflexion in the mirror.
E C S T A S Y
Joel creaked open Emily’s door as silently as he could, thinking she was asleep. He entered the room and closed the door behind him.
“Where are you coming from?” Emily who was standing by the light switch asked and immediately switched on the light.
For the first time in his life, the CEO of EMPIRE WORLD CORPORATIONS felt chills down his spine as he stopped in his tracks.
He had always said it, the woman standing before her was the devil. She-devil.
Emily folded her hands on her chest as she looked daggers at Joel.
“Ahem…” Joel cleared his throat and gulped.
With the devil throwing daggers at him, it looked like that night was the night he was going to say farewell to the world.
But why was she like that? He had told her he was going to work.
“… I told you, I was going to work.” Joel managed to speak after a while.
“Mbo? You have been working since then? Check the time-it’s almost one in the morning and I have been waiting for you.” Emily scowled as she wanted in her tiny voice.
“Ahh…” Joel looked up at the wall clock in her room.
Shit! It wasn’t even twelve yet, just eleven thirty. Joel facepalmed himself innerly, the devil was surely going to be the end of him.
“It’s just 11:31pm” Joel replied calmly.
Emily shot her eyes up to the wall clock and…
It was actually true.
“Hurgh hurgh…” She coughed awkwardly.
“Hajiman, I saw you coming out of Rachel’s room.” Emily didn’t want to admit defeat and so, found something else to say.
Joel stared at her, eyes widened. What was the devil saying, that she saw him step out of Danielle’s room?
He almost choked on his spit.
“Milly, I…” His voice trailed off.
The poor guy didn’t even know what to say.
“I didn’t go near Danielle’s room.” He managed to reply.
Emily shrugged her shoulders, “well, I saw you.”
“Ande. i
It wasn’t me you saw-” Joel waved his hands in the air.
With lips pouted, Emily frowned and headed towards the bed.
Joel rubbed his palms against each other as he stood still on the spot he had been since he entered the room.
He was already a confused soul, he didn’t know whether to approach her, go back or just stand there.
“Milly…” He called silently.
“Don’t call me!” Emily snapped as she adjusted her pillow and laid on the bed.
Joel swallowed the lump in his throat. Well, since the devil wasn’t going to let his stay, maybe he should just go back to his room.
Joel turned around but before his hand could reach out to the doorknob, the devil’s voice stopped him.
Emily scowled. “So you are going back to meet her right? Huh?- You want to go and meet her again… no problem, go.”
Joel turned around and stared at the woman who was about to drive him crazy.
She was just confusing him. What was he to do?
“Go, you are free to go.” Emily stood up on her feet and walked towards Joel.
She turned the doorknob and opened the door.
“Go.” She said, holding the door open for Joel.
“Wait, are you jealous?” Joel asked, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Emily stared at him silently for a while and shut the door. She walked back to her bed and laid on it.
“So you are jealous!” Joel chuckled as he walked towards her.
He laid next to her on the bed and watched her silently as she turned her back to him. He made to touch her arm but Emily hastily slapped it off.
“Ahhh” Joel stared at his hand.
“I’m sorry.” And for the first time in his life, the CEO apologized.
“Milly…” he called silently.
“Mianhae.” He apologized again in their language.
“You know what, since we are both feeling insecure, why don’t we marry?” Joel suggested.
At the mention of “marry” Emily turned to face Joel.
“What do you mean?” She asked in a small voice.
“Yeah, let’s marry tomorrow morning.” Joel smiled.
“Mbo? but how?” Emily furrowed her brows.
“We’ll get a marriage license and marriage certificates.” Joel replied, stroking her face lightly.
“Jinjja?…” Emily grinned.
“Uhn.” Joel nodded his head.
“I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine.” He kissed her forehead.
“You’ll finally become Mrs Manchester, the lady of Empire World Corporation.” Joel spoke softly.
“Awwn” Emily smiled and wrapped her hands around Joel’s waist.
THE FOLLOWING DAY
Emily patted Little Pumpkin lightly on his back as she woke him up. “Little Pumpkin…”
It was morning already and she was going to go shopping with him.
She had checked the previous night but the little guy had no nice suits in his wardrobe.
Emily had decided they were going to go shopping together before she and her ‘hubby to be’ go for their marriage certificate.
Emily smiled as she watched her darling stir awake. “Little Pumpkin come and take your bath.”
“Good morning” Little Pumpkin yawned sleepily as he rubbed his cute eyes.
“Morning my darling.” Emily ruffled his hair and carried him up from the bed.
She bathed him, dressed him up and helped him to the dining table.
“Have your breakfast, let me go get dressed and we’ll get going okay?” Emily stated as she placed Little Pumpkin on one of the dining chairs.
“Okay.” Little Pumpkin replied obediently.
