She got in her car and drove out of the villa.

“Emily, what about the documentary?” Maria asked.
“Err, well… I haven’t gotten any access to the CEO, but… I will- get it done soon.” Emily stammered.
Maria arched her brows.
“Are you sure?” She mused.
“Nde.” Emily nodded her head and smiled.
“Okay, you are also aware of EW’s anniversary right?” Maria asked.
“Yes.” She nodded her head.
“Good. Every employee working in EW at large is going to be attending that party. Ministers, governors, grandees, and so many other famous people are also going to be in attendance.” Maria stated.
“Ahhh, I’m going to be there too.” Min Ah chortled.
Maria smiled. “We won’t be coming here on Monday, we are going to be meeting in the hotel, at night. of course, for the party.”
“There’s no need to dress corporately, and Emily, since you have a lot of EW’s designers in your wardrobe, getting a dazzling gown won’t be a problem for you, will it?” She winked.
Emily blushed.
“Over to the main point; we won’t be working that day since it’s our party. Reporters from other newspaper companies, magazine companies, and broadcasting companies, will be there.” Maria stated.
“Emily, I know how much you want to get that documentary done, but please, don’t ever try crossing the CEO’s path that night- if he’ll be there. Don’t try it. that man is arrogant, everybody knows that.” She pleaded.
“Ahhh…” Emily nodded her head slowly as if thinking about something.
“There will be a masked ball for him, he’ll choose a lady he wants to dance with. The two of you,” Maria pointed her index finger at Emily and Min Ah “… don’t ever get your hopes up. He won’t dance with either of you. He’ll only dance with Miss Danielle; I heard she’s back.” Maria twitched her lips.
Min Ah and Emily exchanged glances for a few seconds and looked back at Maria.
“Ahhh,” they chorused.
“You guys have to be careful; no clumsiness, please. Emily, okay?” Maria cautioned.
“Nde.” Emily nodded her head.
After talking about a few more things, Maria checked her time.
“Today is really fast. Let’s go get your makeup done. You are airing a live broadcast this evening.” She said, standing up on her feet.

After Emily was done with the broadcast, she walked out of the broadcasting industry and opened her car. She checked the backseat to be sure there was no kidnapper there.
Ever since that incident, she always checked the seats before getting in her car.
She nodded her head when she was sure that there was nothing amiss, and got in her car. She then drove out of EWEI.
“Didn’t you do what I instructed?” Stephanie asked in annoyance as she watched Emily drive out of the industry
“I did. I poured the content in the powder she used this evening.” Nancy broke out in cold sweats.
“How did she come out of the studio, without any reaction to the poison?!” Stephanie thundered angrily.
“I don’t know,” Nancy scrunched up her face.
Stephanie bit her lower lip and smashed her phone on the ground in annoyance.
She had asked her personal assistant to mix a poisonous substance that could irritate the skin, in the powder Emily used before going On-Air. The poison was enough to render Emily ugly for the rest of her life.
She had waited for Emily to scream in pain and itch her face till she peeled off all the flesh on her face but the reverse was the case. The powder had made her look more elegant and beautiful as she broadcasted that evening.
“Impossible,” Stephanie murmured.
She was there when Nancy was mixing the substance in the powder. She saw her do it. Someone must have switched the powder with another. Who was it?
Joel smirked as he swiveled his chair, his phone in his ear.
“Very good Stone.” He acknowledged.
“You recorded them right?” He asked.
“Yes, Boss.” Stone replied over the phone.
“Hmm. Keep the video with you till I ask for it.” He smiled.
“Where is Emily right now, by the way?” He inquired.
“She is on her way to the villa but it seems a car is trailing her.” Stone mused.
Joel furrowed his brows. “A car?”
“Get to work.” He ordered and hung up the call without waiting to hear Stone’s reply.

Rachel steered her car to the right, immediately Emily steered hers.
She decided to trail Emily, so she would know where she lived and with whom she lived. She wanted to get to the root of Emily’s matter; she wanted to destroy her from the root.
She squinted her eyes as she watched Emily slow down to speak with some men. After a while, the men opened the gates and Emily drove past them. They were security men.
Rachel hastily drove her car forward but immediately she got to where the security checkpoint, the gates closed.
“Annyeonghaseyo.” She greeted the men.
“Where is your pass, madam?” One of the security men asked.
“Mbo? Pu-pa-passse?” She scrunched up her face.
“Nde, pass.” He replied.
“… but you didn’t collect any pass from the person that just drove in.” Rachel protested.
“That’s because she lives in the estate.” He replied.
“Ah, where is this place if I may ask?” She furrowed her brows.
“Grand Residential Close(GRC).” The security guard replied.
Rachel couldn’t help but open her mouth ajar. “Mbo!?”
GRC? The richest residential area; the highest social class of people lived there.
That GRC? Emily was living in GRC?
“Unbelievable.” She murmured.
“Please turn your car around; you are causing traffic.” The security guard stated.
“Nde.” She mumbled in embarrassment.
She made a U-turn and drove out of the close. She got to the junction and furrowed her brows, she didn’t even know the way back to her apartment again.

“Good night, Boss.” Noah bowed his head as he stood by his boss’ car.
And of course, just like every other day, the screeching of tires was the CEO’s reply.
He smiled and walked away. He got into his car and drove out of EWC.
He drove for a while and soon got to the junction that led to his house. He drove into the estate, but then, a figure appeared and stood in his path.
Noah furrowed his brows and stopped his car. He scrutinized the figure dressed in a black cloak, a mask on his face, and a baseball cap on his head. He decided the man was an assassin.
He watched the ‘assassin’ wag his middle finger at him, signaling for him to step out of his car. Noah let out a small smile.
Finally, the person sending the letters had sent someone to kill him…
He stepped out of his car and walked towards the person. The ‘assassin’ brought out a knife and rushed at him, at once.
He flew up in midair and sent Noah multiple kicks on his chest before he landed on the ground with his feet. He focused his eyes on Noah.
“Aaargh!” Noah groaned in pain.
He rushed forward, aimed a punch at the ‘assassin’s face. The assassin moved swiftly to the side and dodged the blow. He got hold of Noah’s hand and twisted it aggressively.
“Aaarggghh!” He hissed in pain.
The assassin released his grip on his hand and stabbed him on his lap; with the knife in his other hand.
“Aaarrrrrhhhhhh!” Noah let out a shriek.
Not wanting to give up, he stood up on his feet and rushed at the assassin but expertly, the assassin dodged to a side with lightning speed, twirled Noah around, and twisted his arm.
“Hhmmmn!” He mumbled in pain.
Noah unhooked his hand from the assassin’s grip and made to give him a kick on his chest. Before his foot could hit his chest, with his two hands, the assassin got hold of Noah’s leg and twisted it.
Noah wondered who the assassin was. The man knew his every move, even before he made them.
“Aaarrrrrhhhhhh!!!” He let out a hoarse groan.
The supposed ‘assassin’ pushed Noah away and stood before him, watching him fall to the ground. Noah also watched the assassin as he groaned in pain.
“I see you are no longer training.” The assassin spoke up.
Noah gritted his teeth as blood gushed out of his lap.
He let out a howl of anguish. “Deo, who are you?”
The assassin removed the mask on his face, put down his hood, and threw the knife to Noah.
Noah widened his eyes as he examined the man’s face.
“Boss…” He called hoarsely.
Joel smirked. He reached out his hand to Noah and pulled him up.
Noah thought as much; the only person as perfectly skilled as that was his boss and his guess was right.
