But they dare not move close to him, they knew they could only watch him from a distance, even the ministers in the room.
Joel unlocked his phone and stared at the screen- Emily had not replied. He bit a part of his lower lip and rang her up but, she rang off.
He puckered his lips thoughtfully and dialed Stone’s number.
Since there was noise in the room, he stood up on his feet and stepped out.
“Where is she?” He asked as soon as he stepped out of the room.
“Boss, she’s with someone, in a hotel.” Stone replied over the phone.
He furrowed his brows, “what?”
Stone chuckled. “No boss, she’s with a lady. And as it is now, she’s drunk.”
“Which hotel?” He asked.
After getting to know that Emily was in the same hotel as him, Joel climbed down the staircase to the cocktail bar where Stone told him Emily was.
He got to the foot of the stairs and reached for the nose mask in his pocket. He put on the mask and walked into the bar.
He sighted Stone from afar and walked towards him. Stone wanted to stand on this feet and bow to his boss but his boss’ dark eyes stopped him.
Joel got to the table Stone was sitting at and took his seat. He looked in front of him and his gaze met Emily’s back. He rolled his eyes twitched his mouth.

“So sis, tell me… who gave you that car you are riding and how were you able to get into EWEI?” Rachel threw a question at Emily after she was sure her gullible sister was now more than drunk.
Emily hiccuped, “Aww, that?” She grinned drunkenly, “It’s Joel.”
“You said?” She asked keenly.
“Joel; the CEO of EMPIRE WORLD CORPORATION,” Emily muttered incoherently.
Rachel furrowed her brows and tilted her head to the left, giving Emily an unfathomable look.
She frowned. “What did you say?”
Emily belched. “J-dg-Joel.”
She furrowed her brows for a few seconds as she watched Emily intently.
“Bitch!” She cursed under her breath.
She knew Emily was only spouting rubbish out of her mouth. The CEO of Empire World Corporation? So funny. The CEO would never have anything to do with a lowlife like Emily. She was so sure.
Maybe she made her drink too much.
She hissed and looked away. She decided she would ask Emily again when she is sober.
She stood up on her feet, carried her bag, and eyed Emily before walking out of the bar.
Joel and Stone exchanged knowing glances as they watched the girl Emily was having a chat with, leave.
Joel stood up on his feet and walked to the table Emily was sitting at. He picked up her shot glass and grimaced. He dropped the cup and watched her.
He removed his nose mask, clicked his tongue, and shook his head, “tsk tsk tsk.”
“Yah, do you really have to drink all the time?” He asked, sneering.
Drunkenly, Emily raised her head from the table and observes him.
She grinned. “Huh? Joel.”
He sneered. “Un, wae?”
Her mouth curled up in a cute smile, “aww, my Joel.”
He chuckled.
He wore his mask back, pulled her up, and carried her bag.
“Kaja,” he muffled.
He handed her car key over to Stone and helped her out of the bar, to his car. He made her sit in the passenger’s side, got in the driver’s seat, and drove out of the hotel.
Emily kept grinning and hiccuping. “My Joel,”
He chuckled and stole a glance at her.
“Just keep quiet.” HE says, fixing his gaze back on the road.
“My one and only CEO Joel.” She singsong.
Joel bit his lower lip as he felt a bulge rise in his lower region.
“Fuck.” He muttered under his breath and stole another glance at Emily.
Even her words turned him on…
“My Joel baby…” Emily muttered incoherently.
He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and looked over at her.
He said it before; she was the devil.
He turned on the indicator and parked the car by the roadside.
He took out a cigarette from a pack, took a lighter, and stepped out of the car. He lighted the cigarette and fixed it between his lips.
Oblivious, drunk Emily stepped out of the car and staggered towards him.
“CEO Joel…” She stammered.
Joel lowered his eyes and watched her.
He removed the cigarette in his mouth, threw it on the ground, and stubbed it out with his left foot. He took her hands and pulled her closer to his body.
He clicked his tongue, “tsk, why are your hands cold.”
He wrapped his hands over hers and breathed on them through his mouth. Emily smiled cutely as she watched him.
He rubbed her hands together vigorously and dropped them to her sides.
Her lips curled up in a cute smile. “Awwn…”
Joel chuckled. “What exactly did you drink?”
He pulled her into a hug, stroking her hair lightly. “I love you, Emily…”
“Kaja.”
They walked around the car and he helped her get in the car.

As usual, the next morning, Emily woke up with a banging headache.
“Here,” Joel walked over to her bed and sat next to her. He was waiting for her to wake up
He fed her chicken soup. After he was done, he handed the empty bowl over to the maid in the room.
“Go take your bath.” He nudged her.
“Ah,” She furrowed her brows, scrutinizing Joel.
Wow! So the CEO was not all cold-blooded after all; he was romantic too.
She nodded her head obediently and got out of bed. She took her bath, dressed up; walked back into the room, and carried her bag. She stood in front of Joel.
He smiled. “Ready?”
She nodded her head. “Uhn.”
“Let’s go.” He stood up on his feet.
“But I have to go to work,” She stuttered.
“It’s been sorted out.” He took her hand and pulled her out of the room.
The duo passed by Danielle, who was standing by the stairway and headed out of the lounge.
“But erm…” Emily’s voice trailed off as they got in the car.
Joel arched his brows, “what?”
“Where are we going?” She asked.
He smirked, “to teach your director a lesson.”
Emily pouted her lips and gaped at him in astonishment. To teach her director a lesson? She frowned.
“Your sister,” Joel stated calmly as he drove out of the villa.
“What about her?”
“Is she your real sister?” Joel asked.
Emily grinned “Hmm, she is my stepsister.”
Joel nodded his head.
“Ahhh, no wonder.” He muttered silently.
“No wonder what?”
“Nothing.”

Danielle couldn’t believe what she saw a while ago. She stood stagnated on a spot.
Maybe she didn’t see rightly. Like, did Joel hold Emily’s hand just now?
And he acually ignored her for that piece of trash?
She opened her mouth ajar. She was finding it hard to believe.
Recovering from the shock, she walked into her room, picked up her phone, and dialed an unsaved number.
“Do it tomorrow.” She spoke into the mouthpiece of her phone and hung up.
She was going to show that wench that no one could snatch Joel from her, she was going to show her that she had her within her grasp; that she can tweak her whenever she wants.

“You should be happy,” Anderson grinned as he barged into the room he had Evelyn locked up in.
Evelyn took a quick look at him and looked away.
“You are going to be having a companion soon.” He laughed evilly.
She landed her gaze back on him and furrowed her brows. Seeing the way he was happy, she knew he had a dirty trick up his sleeves. He is up to no good.

Joel glared at Mr. Clinton from where he sat, on his office chair. “I heard you said that you’re going to fire my girlfriend if she doesn’t get the documentary done.”
“B-bu-CEO, Sir…” Mr. Clinton stuttered.
He broke into cold sweats, “… I don’t kn-know who yu-you are ta-talking about, Sir.”
Joel’s eyes darkened; “really?”
“…” the man’s heart was almost popping out of his chest.
“Joel,” Emily called as she walked out of the hidden lounge in the office.
“Huh?” She was startled at the director’s presence in the office.
“Direc…” Her voice trailed off.
So, Joel was serious about teaching Mr. Clinton a lesson, huh? She opened her mouth ajar.
“That’s who I’m talking about.” Joel’s voice sent chills down the director’s spine.
He looked up, and behold, the newbie. What?… Wait, what?
Who would… Like, who would have thought…?
If he had known, he wouldn’t have… Oh, God!
Perspiration filled his body as he trailed his eyes back and forth, from the CEO and Emily.
