“Unnie, I’ll be leaving now.” Emily smiled as she walked into her manager’s office.
“Huh? Arasso.” Maria nodded her head.
“Kumawoyo.” Emily bowed.
“Don’t forget about the assignment director gave to you…” Maria reminded.
“Nde.” Emily bowed and walked out of the office.
How would she forget? She was going to send the CEO because of that assignment.
Emily unlocked her car, got in, and drove out of the industry.
Emily’s face wore a reminiscent smile as she thought about what had happened the previous night.
“Go out on a date with me.” Joel had told her.
And before she could talk, she had felt his lips crash against her’s. Forgetting about her worries and everything else, she had closed her eyes and deepened the kiss by opening her mouth slightly and letting Joel’s tongue twirl in her mouth. She had sent her left hand to the back of Joel’s neck and up into his hair and had svcked and nibbled on Joel’s lips.
They’d both gone into the fantasy land and hadn’t noticed Danielle walk into the room.
Steering the car to the left, Emily frowned. She bit her lower lip as she waved to the security officers. She drove into the close and up to the villa.
Honking her horn, the large gates of the villa opened and she drove in without wasting time.
Emily didn’t know what she was going to say to the CEO but she knew she wasn’t going to lose her job.
She parked her car and walked into the lounge.
Emily stopped in her tracks as soon as she entered the lounge. Joel and Danielle were at the foot of the stairway, staring into each other’s eyes. They looked like they were in the middle of a very heated argument.
Joel caught a glimpse of Emily at the corner of his eyes and walked over to the lounge, leaving Danielle all by herself.
“You said you have something to say.” Joel twitched up his lips as he took his sit on the couch.
Emily nodded her head, her eyes on Danielle; who was now staring unfathomably.
“Come sit then.” Joel heaved out a sigh.
Emily took her eyes off Danielle and walked over to the couch.
Danielle swallowed the lump in her throat and walked out of the lounge.
“What’s wrong?..” Emily asked as she sat next to Joel.
“Nothing you need to worry yourself about.” Joel fluttered his eyelashes.
“What is it you want to talk about?” He asked.
“Well, CEO Joel…” Emily bit her lower lip, her voice trailing off.
Joel rolled his eyes. She was calling him CEO Joel, she wanted something.
“What do you want?” Joel clicked his tongue.
“Well… the thing is… I’m about to lose my job.” Emily gritted her teeth and grimaced.
“Which job?” Joel raised his brows.
“Not yet. Actually, if you do me a favor, then I won’t lose my job.” Emily grinned.
Joel narrowed his eyes, “What favor?”
“Well, erm. You-I-erm…” Emily stuttered.
“It’s about…” Emily dried up.
“I was in the middle of an important meeting when you called,” Joel spoke out coldly.
Emily shuddered as she felt the CEO’s cold aura give her a blow on her face.
‘a meeting you were dismissing everyone’ Emily sneered.
“Well…; it’s a documentary.” Emily fondled with her fingers.
“So?…” Joel scratched his nose.
“Your documentary-the documentary is about you -and if I’m unable to get it done, I’ll lose my job.” Emily puckered her lips like she was going to cry.
Joel tilted his head to the side and stared at Emily in silence.
“Who said you’ll lose your job?” Joel arched up his brows.
“The director-the manager of the broadcasting industry.” Emily pouted her lips.
Joel nodded his head slowly but repeatedly.
‘that man is definitely going to lose his job soon.’ he smirked.
Joel pursed his lips as he stared at Emily’s pitiful face.
“Tsk tsk tsk,” he clicked his tongue.
“What do we do now?” He frowned.
“I hate documentaries. I have never done it and I won’t do it.” Joel shrugged his shoulders.
Emily’s face fell.
“But…” Joel paused.
Emily’s face lit up instantly and she looked up at the CEO.
“If-only if-you consider my request, I’ll do the documentary.” Joel smiled.
“And that’s only if you become my woman,” he added.
“Mbo?” Emily’s throat dried up completely.
“Uhn. You see, I’m only trying to negotiate with you.” Joel smirked.
“You ran off last night when Danielle came into the room and I didn’t get your reply.” He smiled.
“When you have a response to my request, you can tell me.” Joel stood up on his feet and strode towards the stairway.
Emily watched Joel’s retreating form in grimace. Why was the man hardheaded. She sneered poutily.
Danielle’s breathing hitched from running. She had been running around the close in frustration.
The previous night, she had caught Joel and that wench kissing. She had thought Joel was going to throw her out of the house but he had kissed her.
Seeing that kiss was like seeing her downfall. The kiss was no ordinary kiss; it carried compassion, love, and care with it.
Was her dream going to shatter-just like that-never!
Danielle breathed in and out through her mouth as she stood before the mansion. It had been a long time since they last saw but she knew his feelings for her were still going to be there.
Danielle smirked as she pressed the doorbell and waited for a response.
“Who is it?” Vincent yawned as he walked towards his sister who was staring at the entrance’s mini-monitor.
“It’s that bitch!” Becky grimaced irritatedly.
“Which bi…” Vincent stopped his statement midway as he stared at the person standing outside the gate in the monitor.
The woman that had his heart. The woman that was his doom-the woman that always made him vulnerable-the woman that could get him to do anything she wanted because she knew he loved her.
That woman was back; she was back with more doom.
Vincent’s eyelashes wavered slightly as he stared at the monitor.
“What does she want now?” Becky sneered poutily.
“Tell them to open the gate.” Vincent signaled to one of the maids around before heading for the stairs.
Danielle smiled sweetly as she walked into the mansion, it was still the same way it used to be. She grinned as the maid held open the door for her.
“Hello, Becky.” She batted her eyelashes.
Becky looked her over and looked away.
Danielle bit deeply into her lower lip, seething with anger. She hastily recovered herself enough to speak calmly.
“Where is Vincent?” She asked sweetly.
Becky folded her hands on her chest and twitched her lips.
‘why is this witch asking me too many questions..’ she rolled her eyes.
“Becky, courtesy!” Vincent snapped as he climbed down the stairs.
“Oooppaaa!” Becky groaned.
She had never liked Danielle for once and because Danielle was the reason her brother and his best friend separated, Becky had hated her even more.
She didn’t know what Danielle did to tear the two friends apart but she was sure Danielle did something.
To Becky, Danielle was a snake in the grass that needed to be exposed. Becky didn’t even know why her brother had fallen for the witch. Like, of all people, why the sassy witch?
“Ahhh, it’s nothing, Vincent.” Danielle let out her sweetest smile as she stared at Vincent.
Becky scoffed and walked away.
Vincent breathed out as he stared at Danielle, he didn’t know why he had fallen for her.
“Vincent.” Danielle’s voice cracked as she stared at Vincent.
“Hey.” Vincent let out a small smile.
Danielle let the tears that had welled up in her eyes roll down her cheeks. She trembled slightly as she walked slowly towards Vincent and hugged him. Her left hand shook as she raised it to his face.
“I missed you.” Danielle wrapped her arms around Vincent, her head on his chest.
“I missed you too, Elle.” Vincent smiled as wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
After a while, he gently pulled away from the hug and stared into Danielle’s eyes.
“So when did you get back?” Vincent asked as they both settled in armchairs.
“Hmm… Like three to four days ago.” Danielle smiled.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming back…” Vincent frowned.
“Ah, mianhae. I didn’t know I would be back earlier than expected too.” Danielle shrugged her shoulders.
“So where are you staying?” Vincent asked.
“Well…” Danielle dried up.
She didn’t know whether to tell Vincent the truth or not. If she told him she was with Joel, he might get jealous and her plan might fail.
But Vincent loved her anyway, he wouldn’t be so angry right? Besides, she had already lied to him that she was with Joel.
“I’m staying with Joel.” Danielle breathed out.
Vincent’s shoulders tensed up at the mention of JOEL-why was she staying with him?-he swallowed uneasily and looked away.
“It’s okay.” He shrugged his shoulders after a while.
“Oppa, I need you to help me with something.” Danielle’s face fell.
Vincent furrowed his brows as he stared at Danielle, “what’s wrong?”
“It’s Joel.” Danielle sniffed.
“What did he do to you?” Vincent’s voice was beginning to rise.
“He’s fallen in love with another girl.” Danielle pouted her lips as she fondled with her fingers.
“That bastard,” Vincent cursed under his breath.
Of course, he knew Joel had fallen in love with Emily, but he had totally forgotten Danielle told him some years back that she and Joel were in love with each other.
Vincent bit his lower lip in annoyance. That guy was a beast! He had stolen Danielle from him and was now dumping her?
Why was Joel hurting Danielle? Wae?
He closed his eyes shut as he thought about the past-he could still remember the bitter memory, vividly.
