Book:Exclusively The CEO's Published:2024-6-2

Rose was one of the latest designs of Empire World Fashionz and there was just one design out-the original designer label made by Empire World’s designer, Lucas Brown.
Lucas was the highest-paid designer in the country. He was also the best designer in the fashion world. Plus, was the personal designer of the CEO of Empire World Corporation.
Emily shook her head and waved off the thought.
That was impossible, she chose to not believe it. How could she be wearing the original label of Rose…
She huffed as they walked towards the car.
Joel took off his mask as soon as they got in the car. He started the car and drove out of the mall.
Emily looked at her clothes again and sighed. She looked beside her, at the handsome god, and swallowed wearily.
“Huuuuuff” Joel let out a gusty sigh.
There was traffic on the road.
He placed his left hand on the door and rested his cheek on it, tapping on the steering wheel impatiently.
“Hmph.” Emily sighed and looked out the window.
‘Aww… Cute.’ she curled up her lips in a small smile as she looked at the LED digital screen by the roadside.
But how come the guy looked so much like the handsome god…
She arched up her brows as she watched the dazzling man that was walking down the red carpet, waving his hand and fluttering his eyelashes, on the public digital screen.
Emily furrowed her brows and looked down at the caption; JOEL MANCHESTER, CEO OF EMPIRE WORLD CORPORATION.
“Huh?” Emily opened her mouth agape, she hastily rubbed her eyes with her fingers and looked up at the digital screen again, still the same man and the same lower third.
She widened her eyes and quickly looked at the man beside her. Everything came replaying in her head:
‘It’s bank accounts, and you can have all the money..’
‘Why are you such a ding-a-ling…’
‘follow the rules…’
‘i threw it away…’
‘just throw them out…’
‘I own it.’
Emily began to connect the dots one by one.
The man she was living with was the CEO of Empire World Corporation.
No wonder he looked familiar when she set her eyes on him the first time… no wonder he was always so arrogant… no wonder he seemed inhuman.
She almost couldn’t believe it.
And that shopping mall, she had seen it before on TV-Empire World Shopping Mall.
She quickly checked the hem of the shirt she was wearing, it was indeed Rose?. She was wearing the first and only Rose designer label. She was so done for.
She broke into cold sweats when she realized she was living with one of the wealthiest families in the country, and she had no idea all along.
She was indeed a ding-a-ling.
Emily didn’t know when Joel drove into Empire World Entertainment Industry.
He reached for his face mask, after he parked the car, and wore it on. He stepped out of the car and took long strides towards the main building.
He stopped in his tracks when he noticed Emily wasn’t behind him. He furrowed his brows and walked back to the car, he opened the door and stared at the girl who seemed lost in thought.
He kicked her leg with his right foot, “Yah.”
“Huh?…” She drifted out of her thoughts and looked up at him.
She was next to the CEO of Empire World Corporation, she was sitting in HIS car, she was living in HIS house, eating HIS food… and she didn’t know.
She shook her head vigorously, ‘I’m dumb. Really, really dumb. Really, really dumb.’
Joel arched up his brows as he eyed the girl in the car suspiciously, ‘Has she gone nuts?…’
He rolled his eyes at her, “Aren’t you coming out?”
“Sir?” Emily gulped.
A corner of Joel’s mouth tugged up in a smirk, ‘Did she just address me as Sir?’
What had come over her…
He chuckled.
Emily stepped out of the car, silently.
“Follow me.” He took long strides towards the back door of the main building, and she trailed after him, like an obedient cat.
Joel fluttered his eyes as he walked into the building.
He walked to the nearest elevator, with Emily looking around in admiration, as she followed him closely.
He pressed a button on the elevator and it slid open, he walked in with Emily and pressed the Go button. The elevator slid close and rode up to the top floor.
Emily gulped, she was really in Empire World’s entertainment industry…
The elevator slid open and Joel walked out of the elevator towards his brother’s office. Without paying any attention to his brother’s secretary, he opened the door.
“Sorry, please who are…” the secretary’s voice trailed off as soon as she met the gaze of the man that was about to barge into her boss’ office.
She couldn’t see his face because of the mask he wore, but the pair of intimidating eyes… only belonged to one person and she needed no one to tell her that it was the CEO of EWC that standing in front of that door.
She quickly shut her trap and bowed.
Joel creaked open the door and walked into his brother’s office.
Michael looked up and smiled, “You are here.”
“Aisshhhh. Tired.” Joel groaned, removing the mask from his face and settling into one of the chairs.
Michael checked the time and stood up on his feet. He picked a paper and a pen on his table and strode towards the armchair.
Emily blinked her eyes rapidly, the man before her was the famous elder brother of the arrogant CEO-the man in charge of Empire World’s entertainment industry-and she didn’t know all those while…
She shook her head.
“Did you hear me?” Michael’s question brought her out of her team.
She swallowed, “Nde?…”
Michael smiled, “Have your seat.”
“Okay.” She bowed and sat in one of the armchairs.
Michael turned the paper he dropped on the table to Emily. “We don’t have much time left. The thing is this, we are offering you a job as a broadcaster in our industry. If you are in, please sign here.”
“Of course, you’ll be paid and a manager will be assigned to you… you don’t need to be afraid, if you aren’t interested, we won’t chase you out of the house…” He quickly added.
Emily blinked her eyes. “Mbo?”
Michael sighed, “Emily, there’s not much time left. Trust me, you won’t find it problematic.”
Emily picked the contract paper on the table and stared at it.
“You have just one minute to decide.” Joel’s piercing voice pierced through her skin.
“Nde.” She shuddered, and quickly signed the paper.
Michael smiled at her and patted her on her back.
“Welcome on board.” He stood up on his feet and walked over to his office chair.
He picked up the telephone and punched in some numbers.
“Come into my office immediately.” He spoke into the receiver and replaced it.
In no time, a woman who looked like she was in her mid-thirties walked into the office. She bowed her head.
“Yes, Emily this is your new manager.” Michael pointed to the woman and smiled.
Emily choked, “Sorry?…”
Michael smiled. “Uhn, this is Miss Maria, your manager. She’ll be the one taking care of your work from now on.”
“Yeoboseyo.” Miss Maria waved sweetly at Emily.
“Huh…” Emily stuttered, slightly bowing her head to her manager.
“You don’t need to worry Emily, she’s got managerial skills and experiences… She used to be Sandra’s manager but Sandra retired from the industry, you can trust her.” Michael assured her.
Emily’s eyes were almost popping out of their sockets, ‘What!? Sandra!?… The famous broadcaster?… Her manager!?’
Sandra used to be a well-known broadcaster in the country before she got pregnant and decided to retire from the entertainment industry. It was after she retired that Stephanie stepped into the limelight.
Ever since Sandra retired, Maria had refused to manage another person.
Even when Stephanie pleaded with her, she declined to be her manager.
But surprisingly, when the boss, Michael, called her earlier that day and told her about Emily, she gave in easily.
Emily couldn’t close her mouth, she just stared blankly at the woman before her.
Maria smiled at her. “Here darling, we need to get going.”
She took Emily by her left hand and led her out of Michael’s office.
Michael turned on his LED CCTV monitor and watched as Maria took Emily to the studio.
“I need everyone out of this place.” Maria’s voice rang out as soon as they stepped into the studio.
Everyone in the studio turned in her direction. Most of them were shocked to see her… Like what was she doing there?
She only usually came to the industry, she never for once interfered with anything they were doing.
“Sunbae, we are preparing to go on air.” One of the junior managers managed to speak up after a while.
(A/N: sunbae means senior)
“You don’t need to. She’ll be the one going on air.” Maria replied and gently shuffled Emily into one of the chairs.
“What?… Sunbae…” Another manager groaned.
Maria stared angrily at them, “Why?… You want to go against your senior?”
“Ahhh, ani.” The managers quickly packed their things and apologized.
