Stupid meeting

Book:Exclusively The CEO's Published:2024-6-2

They knew they must be on the top floor, already waiting for the CEO, before he gets there.
As soon as the elevator dinged when it arrived at the top floor and slid open, they all scampered on their feet towards the front of the elevator the CEO was going to step out of, once the elevator reached the top floor.
They were all sweating profusely but they had no choice since they didn’t want to get their ‘stinking asses’, as the CEO had called it, fired.
But come to think of it, maybe their asses stank…
They were going to check once they all arrived at their various homes later in the evening.
The elevator the CEO rode dinged as it reached the top floor.
Its doors slid open, revealing the ever-gracious CEO, with his ever scary aura all over him.
The middle management bowed their heads and hastily paved the way for him and his personal assistant.
As the CEO walked briskly to his brother’s office, the managers trailed closely behind him, like meek cats.
He stopped in his tracks when he reached the door that led straight into his brother’s office.
He turned back and faced the middle management.
They bowed their heads quickly.
He stared at them expressionlessly. “You can go on with your meeting. My personal assistant will attend in my stead.”
‘Eynn??’ Noah couldn’t believe his ears.
So, his boss came all the way to EWEI, only to make him, Noah, represent him…
‘Who in the world does that?’ he shook his head miserably.
Now, he’d have to listen to boring entertainment gibberish. Ewww!
‘Sir, please don’t do this to me. This is the worst punishment ever. Please…’ Noah cried inwardly.
Joel twitched up his lips and added, “my brother won’t be coming too.”
“Yes Sir.” The middle management bowed their heads.
Joel nodded his head curtly. He turned the doorknob and took long strides into his brother’s office.
His cold aura disappeared immediately he closed the door behind him.
Michael was busy, working on his computer.
He didn’t even notice when his brother stepped into his office. Joel watched his hard-working brother, silently, for a while, and sat in the armchair.
“Annyeong, Hyung*” Joel smiled and waved his hand at his brother.
(A/N: Hello, brother)*
“Wow! The CEO is here.” Michael teased, looking up immediately he heard Joel’s voice.
“What brings you here?” He asked, resting his back on his office chair, and rocking it, slowly. “You are not here for the meeting, are you?” He added.
“Stupid meeting.” Joel sneered.
“I know you’ll never attend the meeting. So… why are you here?” He raised his brows.
Joel grinned at his brother. “I came to say hi to you.”
Michael scoffed and shook his head. Joel never visited the industry without a reason.
He glanced at the wall clock in his office and saw that time was far spent.
He had buried his head in the files on the table that he hadn’t noticed time had gone.
He brought out the lunchbox Emily had given to him, ready to eat. He was really hungry.
Something flashed through Joel’s eyes immediately he set his eyes in the lunchbox. He stretched his neck from where he was seated.
Michael opened the lunchbox.
He grinned, savoring the pleasant aroma of the egg roll-ups that beheld his eyes.
He bit on his lower lip happily and took the chopsticks.
He put a roll-up in his mouth and munched on it, closing his eyes in satisfaction.
It had been long since he last ate homemade egg rolls, and Joel too.
Ever since their mum died, they never got to eat them.
But tasting the roll-ups today, Michael was reminded of his late mother.
Emily’s egg rolls tasted just like their mother’s.
Michael looked up at his brother and pouted.
He was obnoxious to the fact that Joel was staring hungrily at the lunchbox.
“We saw each other last night…” He stated, chewing on another roll-up.
His brother still hadn’t told him why he was there.
“The office was boring, so I came,” Joel replied absentmindedly, his eyes fixated on the lunchbox.
“Hmn… Okay.” He nodded his head and munched on another roll-up.
“Hyung…” Joel swallowed the saliva in his mouth as he watched his brother eat the roll-ups.
“Uhn?” Michael looked up at him.
“What are you eating?” He asked, stupidly.
It was obvious his brother was eating egg roll-ups.
Well, he didn’t know what else to say…
“Egg roll-ups,” Michael replied to him, still.
“Oh, it’s nice?” Joel asked, yet again, stupidly.
If it wasn’t nice, would his brother be eating it?
“Uhn. It’s nice.” Michael nodded his head.
Joel watched silently but wearily as his brother ate the roll-ups.
After a while, Michael noticed his brother’s eyes were boring holes into his body.
“Errrr, do you care for some?” He muttered silently.
Without giving him a reply, Joel jumped on his feet and rushed towards his brother’s desk. He dipped his hand in the lunchbox and took out a roll-up and threw it in his mouth.
He smiled as he munched on it, “ummmm..”
The roll-ups were indeed delicious.
Before Michael would know it, Joel already ate five roll-ups.
He shook his head and took the chopsticks he had dropped.
He made to pick a roll-up with the sticks when Joel pushed the chopsticks away with his hand.
Michael tried again a second time but the same thing happened.
He stared agape at his brother, “hey!.”
“What? Bro, you’ve eaten enough already.” Joel sneered puffily at his brother and carried the lunchbox from the desk, walking towards the armchair.
“Yah!” Michael stood up on his feet and trailed him.
Joel trotted around the office, with the lunchbox in his hands.
“Hey!.. It’s mine, you know.” Michael frowned at the thief of a brother and ran after him.
“Ande!.. Cheolte!!” Joel quickly ran towards his brother’s office chair, hastily eating the roll-ups.
(A/N: ande means no, cheolte means never)
The duo ran after each other.
Who would have thought the two brothers were playful.

Emily scratched her hair frustratedly as she searched around for her bag. “Where did I put it?”
“Aishhh! I didn’t carry it from the car.” She muttered, slapping her palm on her forehead.
Now, she wasn’t going to take her bath till the handsome god is back.
She didn’t even have a phone to call him…
“Aishhh!” she ruffled her hair in frustration.
She went back to her room and slept off.
???
The honking of a car’s horn woke Emily up from her sleep.
Her eyes darted to the wall clock and she rushed out of the room at once.
Her darling was back.
She stretched her hands widely as she ran out of the lounge. “My darling.”
Little Pumpkin got out of the car and ran hurriedly towards the beautiful noona.
“Ahhh” Emily wrapped her hands around him.
She carried him in her arms and headed for the door. “How was school today? You did well right?”
“Yes.” He nodded his head in affirmation.
“Wow. I trust you, Little Pumpkin.” She grinned widely, ruffling his hair playfully as they walked through the door.
She carried him straight to his room and undressed him. She bathed him, dressed him up in comfortable house wear, and carried him to the dining room for lunch.
Emily smiled quietly as she watched Little Pumpkin eat. “Eat all you want okay, Little Pumpkin?”
“Okay, noona.” He squeaked happily and ate to his satisfaction.
Emily was hungry too, but she was scared to eat before the handsome god got back. Who knew what he might do to her.
But come to think of it, she still didn’t know who the man was or what he did.
She only knew he and his brother usually leaves the villa for work. But then, which work…
“Errrm, Little Pumpkin…” She called softly.
The little boy stopped eating and looked up at the beautiful noona. “Uhn?…”
“What does your…” She began.
But she was cut short by Joel who walked in through the front door. “Kiddo! I’m back.”
Little Pumpkin climbed down from the chair and ran swiftly towards his uncle. “Huh? Uncle J-J is back.”
“Helloooo,” Joel grinned, sweeping his little nephew off his feet.
“Have you eaten?” He asked, helping himself to one of the sofas as he placed Little Pumpkin on his lap.
Little Pumpkin grinned. “I was eating when you came in.”
“Hmm… run along then,” Joel replied, ruffling his hair.
“Hey!” Michael rolled his eyes as he watched the duo.
“I’m back too, didn’t you see me?” He asked, sneering.
Little Pumpkin shrugged his shoulders and jumped down from his uncle’s lap, scampering towards the dining.
“This child…” Michael mused
“Hyungnim, leave the boy alone.” Joel stood up on his feet and headed for the stairs.
He took a side glance at the girl as he headed for the stairs.
“Little Pumpkin, eat well huh?..” Michael groaned and strolled to his room.
The brothers took their showers and headed to the dining room, where Emily was impatiently waiting for them. She was seriously starving.
As soon as Little Pumpkin finished eating, he had slept off and Emily had carried him to his room before heading back to the dining room.
Michael smiled, getting himself seated on one of the dining chairs. “Emily, how are you?”
“I’m fine.” Her mouth curled up in a cute smile.
“Thank you for the roll-ups.” He smiled at her.
“Ahhhh, it’s nothing.” She replied, blushing.
“Kumawo, I’m grateful. Although I didn’t get to eat the roll-ups to my satisfaction, thanks to a certain person.” Michael twitched up his mouth and sneered, looking in Joel’s direction.
“Hmn.” Joel cleared his throat.
“Ahh, Oppa, it’s nothing.” Emily, who wasn’t aware of what happened, giggled.
‘Oppa!? she has never called me Oppa since I met her.’ Joel rolled his eyes.
