Miguel dropped her at the hostel before leaving to get the drugs he promised. A few minutes later, he came back and meet Lindsey already sleeping. He sighed and dropped the drug close to her with a note before leaving the room.
Immediately the door slammed shut, Lindsey opened her eyes, she had faked her sleeping so Miguel could go back to his hotel. With the way her subconscious was tricking her, she wouldn’t want to stay in the same room with him.
She picked up the note a read it, a smile spread across her lips. If only she was still single, she would have considered dating Miguel, he was such a perfect guy and the ideal kind of boyfriend she had wanted for herself. She inhaled deeply, too bad he already married Keith before she meet him. She grabbed the pain relief medicine and tossed it inside her bag, she wasn’t on her menstrual period and there was no need for it.
Lindsey walked towards the bathroom to take a shower but stopped as she remembered something “Menstrual period, Williams” Lindsey gasped. If she doesn’t get her menstruation then she was truly carrying Williams’ baby. “Shit” she ran towards the wardrobe searching for her bags and looking for her diary. Seconds later she found it and opened it flipping through the pages. She stopped immediately she found the date she was looking for “Oh my G_” she stared deeply at the date praying she had made a mistake while doing the calculations well but no, she didn’t, she never makes any mistakes and would never.
Lindsey closed the book trying to catch her breath, she was already a day past her menstruation date something that has never happened to her before. “Does this mean_” she paused shaking her head vigorously. “No, no, this can’t be, she can’t even pin it on Keith since they haven’t spent a night together. Lindsey burst into tears thinking about how her life is going to turn into a perfect mess. “I should have just stayed back in my Villa” Lindsey said regretting ever leaving the villa but it was already too late.
Her phone rang and she coiled up from the ground to answer it. “Hi” she didn’t even bother to check the caller ID. “I thought you were sleeping” Lindsey paused hearing Miguel’s voice. “I got up to have a change of cloth and also to take the drugs she bought,” Lindsey said. “Oh, call me if you need anything at all okay” Miguel said. “I will, I’m getting a call now, bye,” Lindsey said and quickly ended the call to answer Georgina’s call.
“How are you doing my dear?” Georgina asked. “Fine, I’m fine ma’am,” Lindsey said wishing she could open up to the woman and tell her what she’s passing through. “That’s good, I bordered you, a first-class flight back to New York City tomorrow morning by 7:00 am, since Keith is no longer there with you, there is no point in continuing the honeymoon. Maybe sometime in the future, you both can reschedule a vacation together” Georgina said.
“Yeah, I was already thinking of coming back, guess I should better start packing my bags,” Lindsey said looking around the room. “Yes dear, you should do that, a chauffeur would pick you up from the airport once you land. You should come home and assume your position and also get to know the rest of the family members well” Georgina said. Lindsey closed her eyes after listening to Georgina’s words, she had totally forgotten there was a life after her wedding and honeymoon with Keith and she has to Live as his wife for four years. “I will do just that, also about Leen, I have been calling her but she isn’t answering her calls, voice mail or text messages, I just want to make sure she is fine,” Lindsey said.
“Trust me, you have more important things to worry about other than Leen, and I’m sure she’s doing great. Just get enough sleep and prepare for your journey back home” Georgina said. “Okay, I_”
“I need to hang up now dear, will talk to you once you come back bye,” Georgina said and the call disconnected. “Great, just great. My life is just something else” Lindsey said dropping her phone. She looked at her messy suitcases and inhaled before making her way towards them to arrange them and get them back in order.
Hours later, she slumped into the couch exhausted. She had spent the last couple of hours arranging her bag and getting ready for her journey. “Gosh I’m so tired” Lindsey whined. She reached for her phone and before she could click on her call icon she got a text from Miguel. “Hi dear, hope you are okay and the pain already subsided” Lindsey read the text with mixed feelings “Is he into me or just a nice guy” Lindsey asked. She remembered when Leen had told her about a guy that was so nice to him, she had mistaken it to be love but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case because he was just nice to everyone.
Lindsey nodded her head, “maybe he’s just the nicest guy in the world, who knows” she said and replied to his text. “Yeah I’m good, thanks for the drugs, they really helped” Lindsey pressed the send button before calling Leen’s number again but she was directed to voicemail again. “Hi Leen, I’m just wondering, don’t you get any of this voicemail? Did I do something wrong? Why are you shutting me out? You know what I would be coming back tomorrow, maybe we could sit down and talk things out please” Lindsey said and ended the call for the voicemail to send. A message popped up almost immediately, it was from Miguel. “I guess you would be free tomorrow, I have a lot of places for us to go to since it’s your first time in Paris” Lindsey smiled after reading the message. She would have loved to tour around but unfortunately, she can’t. “That would have been great, I would have loved to do so but I’m sorry I can’t, I would be returning to New York City tomorrow morning, my husband is no longer in Paris so there is no point in this honeymoon thing” Lindsey pressed the send button and dropped her phone. Getting up to help herself with a glass of juice.
Georgina looked up to her secretary after she ended the call with Lindsey, “Set up a meeting with the board for Friday morning, it’s strictly mandatory and everyone must be present” Georgina said. “Okay, I would do that” Bianca said bowing slightly. “What should I tell them the meeting is for?” She asked. She knew all board meetings had a reason for it. “The meeting starts by 10:00 am and don’t worry about the reason, just make sure you add the mandatory notice,” Georgina said. “Okay ma’am,” Bianca said and walked out of her office.
Georgina inhaled deeply and glanced at Lindsey’s number “Why isn’t she as smart as her mother?” She asked. After she found out that Keith left Lindsey in Paris, she investigated the matter and found out that Audrey came to Paris and eventually left with Keith. Georgina made up her mind to deal with Audrey but first, she would have to make Lindsey a strong and fearless woman so no one would be able to intimidate her.
Her office door jerked open and Cynthia walked in. “Did you forget your manners at home?” Georgina questioned her regarding the way she opened her door. Cynthia folded her hands looking at her mother-in-law. She was the wife of Francis Winslow, Georgina’s first son who would have been the heir but Georgina passed everything to Keith. “I just received a mail from your secretary about a Friday mandatory board meeting,” Cynthia said.
“Oh Bianca already sent out the mail, gosh she’s such a competent secretary, don’t you agree with me?” Georgina asked. “What is it about, whenever you call for board meetings like this you always have something up your sleeve” Cynthia snapped making Georgina scoff.
“I don’t know what made you think you can barge into my office and vomit such trash but let me warn you, that you are married to my son doesn’t mean I would take it easy on you when I’m dealing with you so you better trade with caution,” Georgina said staring deeply at Cynthia.
Cynthia stared back at her and for a while, the two of them didn’t say a word to each other “Get out of my office, I’m going to have to talk to Francis about you and if you don’t take care, I would kick you out of the board” Georgina threatened. “Haven’t you wanted to do that a long time ago, I’m sure you are going to kick us out once the grandfather dies so you can as well do it now, you have always hated me, my husband Vanessa and Harry, it has been just Keith and you two girls and I’m sure you must love Lindsey” Cynthia snapped angrily.
“Don’t make me repeat myself, I’m glad you know the chairman is keeping me from kicking you all out so you should better lay low and enjoy the title while it lasts?” Georgina said staring deeply at her. Cynthia was stunned, she was right after all. Georgina loves everything that has to do with Keith and Thaila, Tiana was barely living under Thaila’s shadow and Mercy and that same love and special attention were transferred to Lindsey Keith’s wife. Cynthia was sure the love and attention would be transferred to Thalia’s husband as well and he might end up having more right over the conglomerates than Francis the first son or even Harry the second son.
She scoffed imagining how Georgina would make sure everything plays out in her favour and the favour of those she loves “I would love to see you try to kick me out of the board of directors, and good luck on that,” Cynthia snapped and walked out of the office leaving Georgina to digest her last statement.
