The doorknob yanked open and Lindsey ran into the hotel suite sweating furiously, she had run up to her room from Williams’ suite. Keith stared at her for a while taking notice of her nightwear before shifting his gaze to Audrey as if asking her what next to do after a while he shifted the gaze at Lindsey “Where did you sleep last night?” Keith asked staring deeply at her.
“I… I” Lindsey stuttered thinking, she didn’t know anyone in Paris so she can’t possibly tell Keith she went to a friend’s suite. Even if she were to use Williams, Keith would raise a suspicious brow at her and that won’t be good for her, especially in front of Audrey.
She inhaled deeply before lifting her chin confidently “And what about you Mr. Winslow, where were you last night?” Lindsey asked, her arms crossed beneath her boobs. Audrey snickered staring at her and Keith couldn’t take his surprised gaze out of her. “What did you say?” He asked still staring at her. “You didn’t sleep in this room last night so I ask again, where did you sleep?” Lindsey asked more confidently. Keith glanced at Audrey and then back at Lindsey. “I was at the nightclub bar with Audrey and I came up before midnight but didn’t see you,” Keith said and Lindsey scoffed staring at him. “The same bar she had gone to look for him but couldn’t find him,” Lindsey thought sparing a look which was enough to access her. “The bar huh?” She asked staring at Audrey. “Do you think we are lying, you can ask the bar attendant if you have any doubts?” Audrey said with a smile plastered on her face. Lindsey smiled back at her nodding her head “I don’t need to do that because I trust my husband” Lindsey said walking towards Keith. She touched his chest before placing a kiss on his lips, if they were going to play this stupid card with her then she has no option but to playback and she was definitely going to win. “I trust him so much so I don’t need to verify anything that comes out of his mouth” Lindsey repeated staring into Keith’s eyes. She could see the insincerity in his eyes which proved that he was lying and up to something bad. “I meet an old friend of mine from grade school, we use to be best of friends back then so we were in her room doing some catching up but then I slept in, I ran here immediately I woke up and saw your missed calls,” Lindsey said showing Keith her phone which had his numerous missed calls.
“A friend from grade school, what was she doing here?” Audrey asked staring at Lindsey, she was happy when she and Keith walked into the room just an hour ago and meet the room empty, she saw it as a perfect time to frame Lindsey for cheating which would be enough grounds for divorce if it gets out to the public. Georgina hated bad public scandals. “Should I give you her room number, you can ask her that your self” Lindsey said looking at her. “Really? so where is your wedding ring? you went to see a friend from grade school without your_”
“Shut up Audrey” Lindsey snapped cutting her words short which made Audrey raise a brow at her surprised. “I’m speaking to my husband and it’s rude to interrupt a married couple” Lindsey smirked at her. “What did you say?” Audrey couldn’t believe her ears, she had thought Lindsey was a pushover so it won’t be hard for her to intimidate her.
“Just in case you don’t know or must have forgotten, Marriage is a union between two people who love each other” Lindsey paused and looked at Audrey while crossing her arm around Keith’s neck. “It said two, not three so you should leave, we can’t argue in front of you” Lindsey added still staring at Audrey.
Audrey scoffed shifting her stare to Keith “Love are you kidding me” She thought, she stared back at Lindsey flashing her a smile. “I’m sorry if I overstepped my boundaries, I was just looking out for you and Keith’s marriage, it would be bad if the paparazzi finds out that you don’t wear your wedding_”. “You should look out for your own marriage Audrey, or aren’t you married Mrs. Audrey Roberts, and let me look out for mine” Lindsey fired at her cutting her short. Audrey made to speak again but Lindsey didn’t allow her to do so “I’m not done yet” Lindsey snapped at her making Audrey glance at her. After a couple of minutes, Lindsey shoved her shoulder said. “Okay you can now speak”
Audrey fixed at gaze on her as her lips spread in a smile, that was just the outside facial seen expression because deep down in Audrey’s heart, she felt like landing a hot slap on Lindsey’s cheek, that way she would know her place. She clenched her fist for a while before releasing it. “I will take my leave now, see you guys later” Audrey manage to say and walked out of the room. Lindsey smiled looking at her back figure, the door slammed shut behind Audrey and Lindsey closed her eyes thanking God for the movie she had watched a few days ago, every line she had said to Audrey were lines she picked up from the movie. “Are you crazy?” Keith spoke snapping her out of her imagination. Lindsey glanced at him and scoffed “I’m not as you can see, I’m not in a psychiatric hospital” Lindsey fired walking towards the side table to pick up her wedding ring. She didn’t care about what Keith thought about her but she can’t bear to watch Audrey disrespect her just because of her useless title as Keith’s best friend. Even if she was in a contract marriage with Keith but she should at least respect her as his wife. “You spoke to my best friend disrespectfully and you are trying to do that with me?” Keith asked. “Maybe you should tell your best friend to mind her business and stop questioning me, I am not her slave and would never be” Lindsey fired panting heavily.
Keith stared at her for a while, before stomping out of the room to look for Audrey leaving Lindsey all alone. Lindsey closed her eyes briefly and opened them almost immediately and stared at the closed door that Keith walked out of.
“Audrey stop please I’m sorry” Keith apologize stopping Audrey from closing her car door. Audrey looked up at her with tears in her eyes and smiled “You said it yourself Keith, I shouldn’t have come here and now that I think about it, it’s true, maybe we should stop this since it’s now very obvious that you love Lindsey, I lost you to her so you should go be with her and leave me alone” Audrey cried. Keith inhaled deeply squatting down to look into her eyes “Don’t say that, I love you and not her, If it were in my powers we wouldn’t have gotten married in the first place not to talk of this dumb honeymoon” Keith said and placed a kiss on her forehead.
“Then make her quit this dumb marriage, make her quit it and come to me Keith, my divorce procedures would be finalized soon once I get his signature. We have to get married immediately after I divorce” Audrey said and kissed Keith deeply, A few minutes later, she broke out of the kiss and stare into his eyes “Do you promise to do that?” Audrey asked. Keith stared back into her eyes and nodded his head “Anything for you my darling” Keith said and they went into another round of kissing but were interrupted by a young man who was no other person than Williams.
“Sorry to interrupt your little romance but I need to drive out and your car is blocking mine,” Williams said politely, he had a warm smile on his face. Audrey stared at him and then at his car. “Sorry about that” Audrey muttered closing her car door while Keith stood outside and watched her as she drove to another corner giving way for Williams to drive out. “Thank your wife for me and have a good morning,” Williams said and got into his car, he drove off even before Keith could walk towards Audrey.
“Are you really leaving?” Keith asked looking at Audrey, she was still seated in her car. “Yes, I have to. I told Lindsey I came for a meeting and it’s not a convincing lie like you said so it would be suspicious if I stay longer” Audrey said. Keith bent his head sadly “I should come with you” he said lifting his head. “Come with me, what about your honeymoon, you still have about two to three weeks left,” Audrey said looking at him. “I don’t care about any of those, you don’t know how much fun I had last night and I can’t keep staying with Lindsey, she’s a thorn in my flesh,” Keith said and Audrey smiled, she was happy that Keith had zero feeling for Lindsey so for all she cared, Lindsey can continue dwelling in her delusional love fantasy. “What are you going to tell your Lindsey, grandfather and mother,” Audrey asked.
Keith thought for a while before smiling at her You don’t have to worry about that, I would take care of it” Keith said. Audrey tried talking but Keith was fast enough to speak up first. “Let me get my bag and meet you here,” Keith said and walked out heading back to the room to handle his wife Lindsey.
