Audrey turned hearing the gasps from the guests, she froze at the spot staring at Keith and Lindsey. She sniffed trying to hide the tears clustered in her eyes but she couldn’t as a tear dropped. She quickly wiped it off. She looked around making sure that no one saw her before she stomped out of the wedding hall.
Keith finally broke out of the kiss and stared at him Lindsey’s flushed face. She looked surprised and was wondering why he had kissed her. The guests all clapped and cheered as they walked back to their seats.
Hours later, the wedding reception came to an end as each guest congratulated them giving them a wedding gift before leaving. The Winslow family were no exception, Georgina bought a brown new car for Lindsey and Chairman Winslow gave them a one-month luxurious honeymoon in Paris. The wedding was an eventful one and was the talk of the town, the reporter uploaded all details on the internet including the scandal Chace and Mrs. Hales created.
Keith and Winslow arrived at Luch hotel, one of the top hotels in New York City. Entering the executive suits, Georgina had prepared for them, they were welcomed by a sweet rose fragrance and some rose petals scattered on the floor. Lindsey looked around the room and following the rose petals, she entered the room which was beautifully decorated.
On top of the bed was a love-shaped rose petal, and a sexy linger, and then there was a bouquet and a bottle of red wine on the side table beside the bed, it was a perfect decoration for a romantic couple. Looking at the decorations, Lindsey’s face flushed as she began to think of the things that might happen between her and Keith. She had always dreamt of a perfect wedding and a romantic first couple’s night. She smiled touching her cheeks and giggling.
Keith walked into the room and seeing all decorations and items on the bed he scoffed glancing at Lindsey, his facial expression changed as he fixed his eyes on her “Don’t be faster than your shadow, that’s never going to happen” Keith said hoarse. He walked towards the bed destroying the decorations. “What’s not going to happen?, I wasn’t thinking of anything stupid” Lindsey said defending herself.
Keith paused turning to look at her, he said “It’s written all over you” Keith fixed his eyes on her. Lindsey kept mute gulping hard. “You can sleep here while I sleep at the lounge,” Keith said walking out of the room. “We can sleep together, the bed looks big enough,” Lindsey said stopping him. “I don’t like sharing my bed, we won’t be sleeping on the same bed so you should better get used to it,” Keith said and left the room. Lindsey stared at the door for a while a muttered rolling her eyes.
She slumped into the bed closing her eyes but then her stomach grumbled causing her to open her eyes. She frowned getting up. She made her way into the bathroom to have a quick shower.
A few minutes later, she walked into the lounge putting on the red lingerie but then she meet Keith putting on his sweatpants and a matching top. “Are you going somewhere?” Lindsey asked wondering why he wasn’t in his sleeping wear. Keith looked up at her, ogling at her transparent lingerie which exposed her inner body. “I couldn’t find any other thing to wear,” Lindsey said clearing the air. “I never asked” Keith snapped at her. He picked up his car key and left the room.
Lindsey stared at the slammed door feeling indifferently “That’s weird” She commented sitting at the dining table. She opened the food and closed her eyes inhaling the sweet aroma of the food as a smile spread across her lips “Smells delicious” she said and made to dig into the food but then her phone beeped. She reached for it and saw a text message from Georgina which read “I know quite well this is all a contract but thinking about it, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a baby, four years is a long year to stay married without a child and it would also be a plus to your own end” Lindsey rolled her eyes dropping her phone. “Thanks but no thanks, your son has more important things to deal with,” Lindsey said to herself in between mouthfuls of food.
Keith drive into the compound and parked carefully beside Audrey’s car before making his way to her doorstep. He pressed the doorbell for the fifth time but he didn’t get any reply from Audrey, he had tried calling her but her number wasn’t connecting, Audrey must have added him to her blacklist. He pressed the doorbell again and luckily for him the door knob cracked open revealing Audrey. “What?” Her face looked pale and her eyes were red. “Have you been crying?” Keith asked staring at her.
“Do you care?, I think you should go back to your wife, Don’t keep her waiting” Audrey said and tried locking the door but Keith was fast enough to stop her, focusing his way into the house. “Please, just go and spend the night with your new wife” Audrey snapped still standing at the door. “Don’t say that, you know it’s you that I love_” Audrey walked towards him and landed a hot slap on his checks shutting him up. “Spare me that, Love my foot. Do you seriously think I didn’t see how you kissed her huh?” Audrey asked.
Keith closed his eyes and opened them almost immediately “I did that to avoid more scandals, we already had enough with Sophia’s mum showing up and Lindsey’s ex and I can’t afford another scandal” Keith said defending himself but Audrey landed another slap on his cheeks. “You started this by introducing that girl to the public” Audrey yelled. “If I didn’t, my mother would have found another girl for me, besides you were okay with Sophia,” Keith said.
“Sure I was okay with Sophia but that was because she loved another and you two weren’t medically compatible as a couple but Lindsey is different and I have a bad feeling she might take you away from me, I know nothing about her” Audrey cried. Keith dragged her to himself and kissed her on the forehead before walking her to the couch where he sat her down allowing her to cry on his chest. Slowly Audrey’s sob faded and she fall asleep. Keith gradually carried her to the bedroom and laid her down, laying beside her, he slept off.
Lindsey woke up the next morning feeling energetic, she had never slept on a soft king-size bed before and it really felt good. She slid into her flip-flop and walked to the lounge only to see Keith fully dressed in a fine green suit. “Oh, when did you come back?” Lindsey asked, she had stayed up till 2am waiting for him and when he didn’t show up she gave up and slept off. “Last night” Keith simply said. Lindsey gave him a suspicious look, she was about to ask him the time he did come when Keith snapped at her “For the records Ms. Roach I never left this hotel last night so when my other or anybody ask, make sure you feed them with the romantic stories of couples first night understand” Keith snarled and Lindsey nodded almost immediately after he spoke. “You don’t have to be mean about it” she muttered.
“Here, wear this we need to go back to the Winslow villa,” Keith said handing her over a silver gown. Lindsey mouthed a thank you taking the cloth from him, she walked back into the room to dress up.
A few minutes later, the couple walked out of the elevator holding hands in a couple’s style, everyone that saw them admired them and clicked pictures of them tagging them the most romantic couple in the world.
Throughout the drive to the Winslow villa, Lindsey was nervous thinking there would be tons of reporters just like the first day she visited but on reaching the villa, she was relieved. There wasn’t, not even a single reporter at the gate waiting to get gossip about them. Georgina made sure of that.
“How was your first night?” Lindsey was ushered into the lounge with Angela’s question. “Mum!, what are you doing here?” Lindsey asked ignoring her questions. “That wasn’t the answer to my question and why would you ask me what I’m doing at my in-law’s villa?” Angela snapped sitting down. Lindsey and Keith stared at her as she dramatically crossed her leg before she sipped her juice.
“You both came earlier than I expected,” Georgina said walking down the stairs. Keith and Lindsey turned towards her direction and bowed respectfully at her greeting her. “I’m sorry I had to shift your honeymoon flight to tomorrow afternoon, something very urgent came up,” Georgina said sitting down likewise Keith and Lindsey. “Something urgent, at the company?” Keith asked and Georgina shook her head negatively. “Far from that, I received a call from the police. Chace has confessed the name of whom let her into the party” Georgina said.
“Who?” Keith and Lindsey asked in unison. “Leen” Georgina said looking at Lindsey. There was silence for a while before Lindsey finally spoke. “Leen, my best friend Leen?” Lindsey asked surprised. “I already asked for her arrest and she is being interrogated as we speak,” Georgina said. “No, I think you are mistaken, Leen is my best friend, She’s literally the only friend I have and we have known each other for a very long time, she isn’t someone that can hurt me,” Lindsey said standing up. “Mum tell them” She added when she got no response from Georgina.
“Look darling, I was surprised myself when I heard it but it’s true, Chace said it himself and_” “And nothing” Lindsey began snapping at Angela. “Someone is just trying to frame my best friend up here and you believe it, I know Leen she can’t hurt me,” Lindsey said. “That you know her doesn’t mean you know what she can do, it doesn’t mean she can’t hurt you, Lindsey, wake up, you don’t know what’s going on in her mind and she might even be jealous of you,” Georgina said. “She’s my best friend, the only friend I have” Lindsey cried. “And that’s the more reason I’m not charging her, but that doesn’t mean I would let her off the hook that easily, I learnt she’s aware from the contract so she would sign an undertaking not to breathe a word regarding the contract to anyone, after which she would tender a public apology in tomorrow’s press conference,” Georgina said.
“You can’t do that, Leen isn’t a blabbermouth and she didn’t let Chace into the wedding hall,” Lindsey said. “Least I forget, you should stop being friends with her, You are now the young mrs. Winslow and you should live up to that standard even though it’s temporary for now but who knows what might happen and please, try considering the text I sent you, Your mother is in full support of it” Georgina said. “Yes, it’s very important” Angela supported smiling.
Lindsey stared at both of them unable to believe her ears. They were trying to change the topic into something irrelevant. She tried to talk but the tears didn’t let her say a word. She ran out of the lounge slamming the door behind her.
