Mikayla was deeply dissatisfied with Jaylah’s attitude.
Pursing her lips, she retorted, “How strange? I’m not a nerd.”
“I just find it fascinating. Don’t you look down on celebrities?” Jaylah replied.
“Then don’t misjudge me like that. I still hold you in high regard as a star,” Mikayla said.
Jaylah was left speechless. She raised her hand and lightly tapped Mikayla’s head, saying, “You’re willing to say anything just for a photo.”
“Can you help me then? I beg you for something like this the very first time after I grow up.” Mikayla looked at Jaylah pitifully, as if she would cry if she didn’t get the photo.
Jaylah was still taken aback and found herself increasingly unable to understand Mikayla.
She was someone who immersed herself in mathematics, rational and seemingly devoid of emotions. It was as if no matter how the outside world changed, it wouldn’t affect her in the slightest.
At that moment, Jaylah deeply realized that Mikayla was still a little girl.
Jaylah immediately responded, “I’ll help you. It’s the first time you’ve asked me to do something, and as your older sister, I’ll naturally do it for you.”
Mikayla immediately perked up upon receiving a satisfactory answer.
However, in the next second, she hopped off Jaylah’s bed, regained her composed demeanor, and said to Jaylah, “Then I won’t bother you. Goodbye.”
With that, Mikayla left Jaylah’s room without looking back.
Jaylah was on the verge of laughing out of frustration. What kind of little girl was she?
Once her objective was achieved, she reverted to her current state, devoid of any display of affection.
However, Jaylah’s anger flared up as she suddenly thought of something.
She didn’t understand what was happening. After the film crew started shooting, apart from the first scene which was mainly her and August, yet, ever since then, she had been filming her scenes with other actors.
Although she and August had the most scenes together, he never showed up on set.
Jaylah couldn’t fathom how Francis had arranged things.
However, she didn’t dare to question Francis. In the past few days, due to her repeated NGs, Francis had already voiced his complaints about her.
Jaylah was certain that if she dared to cause trouble, Francis would definitely put her in her place.
She had heard about Francis’ volatile temper long ago. Even though he handpicked her for the lead role, his attitude towards her didn’t reflect that at all.
During this period, Jaylah had endured a lot while on set.
But she couldn’t voice her grievances and could only endure silently.
Fortunately, she didn’t have any scenes today or tomorrow, so she could rest.

When Matilda brought Kareem to Innisrial, Aimee was in the middle of performing surgery.
She had made prior arrangements for Kareem’s accommodation and had asked Matilda to take him there directly.
When Aimee arrived at the villa after work, she was taken aback.
She had only asked Matilda to bring Kareem here, not the entire research institute staff.
Seeing the bewildered faces of the researchers from three different institutes standing before her, Aimee couldn’t help but feel both amused and exasperated.
She spoke in a chilly tone, “You have quite the audacity. Leaving the institutes without my permission. Seems like you no longer care about your jobs.”
Andy Pugh rushed over to Aimee and clung to her thigh, tears streaming down his face. “Miss Read, I’m your loyal tenth disciple. You can’t let me go.”
Kelvin Prince and Ashton Torres couldn’t help but be speechless as they witnessed Andy’s desperate plea.
Andy had secretly followed them and even managed to sneak onto the plane. It wasn’t until they arrived at Innisrial that they discovered Andy’s presence.
Aimee took a step back, freeing her leg from Andy’s grasp.
She stated, “Consider yourself lucky to still be one of my disciples.”
Otherwise, she would have expelled him from the institute long ago.
Andy froze on the spot, too afraid to utter a word.
Although he was a disciple, he had the least interaction with Aimee.
He had learned about her expertise in various projects and her colleagues’ opinions within the institute, but he never truly understood her temperament.
He had always had the illusion that she was a beautiful and sweet girl with a gentle and adorable demeanor, allowing him to behave affectionately towards her.
However, at this moment, his teacher taught him a harsh lesson.
Her words were few, but they revealed her indifference.
Andy stepped aside, refraining from speaking further.
Ashton and Kelvin looked at him and remarked, “We warned you not to follow, but you didn’t listen. Now you’ve angered your teacher.”
Andy seethed with anger at their taunting behavior. However, he couldn’t voice his grievances or even give them a stern look.
He realized a harsh reality.
He was truly the weakest among all those present.
Aimee lifted her gaze to meet the eyes of Kelvin and Ashton. Her half-smile made their hearts skip a beat, and they involuntarily gasped.
She inquired, “Did I ask the two of you to come? What are you doing here?”
“To assist you,” Kelvin promptly responded.
Aimee snorted and retorted, “The project report hasn’t been handed to me yet. What use can you be to me?”
Kelvin felt a pang in his heart at Aimee’s undisguised disdain. It throbbed painfully like an arrow.
Seeing Kelvin retreat to his side, Andy couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Indeed, his teacher was the most formidable one.
Even if a veteran researcher were present, his teacher could scold them at will.
Ashton rubbed his nose and explained, “Aimee, you still have work and Mr. Hayden to take care of. We’re here to help you look after Kareem, so you won’t get too distracted.”
Aimee glanced at him, and while Andy and Kelvin eagerly anticipated Ashton’s downfall, Aimee smiled and replied, “Very well. I’ll leave Kareem in your care.”
Andy and Kelvin glared at Ashton, secretly scolding him.
He was a cunning villain. Why was he acting so benevolently in front of Aimee?
