Chapter 18 Hayden family pampers her

Elsie found herself being inexplicably dragged by Casey, unable to bear the strain of the high heels on her feet. Several times, she almost sprained her ankle during the ordeal.
Finally, after being dragged out of Patrick’s yard, Elsie managed to shake off Casey’s hand and confronted her with anger. “Casey, what’s gotten into you? Didn’t you agree to bring me to see Pat? Why are you dragging me outside now? Did you not notice that I’m wearing high heels? Are you trying to kill me?”
Casey was bombarded by Elsie’s outburst. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Elsie.
Elsie, who had always been gentle and considerate in front of her, had suddenly become angry and confrontational.
Casey felt like she might be dreaming. How could everything change so suddenly?
She glanced at Elsie’s 12-centimeter high heels, furrowing her brows involuntarily, and her thoughts immediately turned to the woman in Patrick’s room.
Her name was Aimee, right? Casey recalled that Aimee was wearing a pair of plain beige flat shoes. They didn’t look like branded products, without any logos or decorations. They were just ordinary shoes.
In comparison, Elsie appeared perfectly dressed and sophisticated. However, wearing those 12-centimeter high heels, Elsie seemed less strong-willed compared to Aimee.
Furthermore, Elsie’s meticulously made-up face concealed every imperfection, making her look flawless.
Casey found it all very strange, a sense of unease creeping in.
Especially now, with Elsie glaring at her in anger, she appeared almost grotesque.
Only then did Casey realize the extent of Elsie’s resentment towards her.
Frowning, Casey’s voice involuntarily softened. “Elsie, are you really angry with me?”
Unaware of Casey’s changing perception, Elsie continued, “I’m asking you, Casey. We agreed that you would bring me to see Pat. What’s with dragging me out like this? I haven’t even seen him yet, and now you’re ruining my chance. Are you trying to make my trip for nothing?”
Casey suddenly felt that Elsie had lost her grip on reality.
Didn’t she understand Patrick’s temperament? There was no guarantee she would see him even when she came here before.
And now, Elsie was losing her temper simply because she hadn’t seen him. Where was all this newfound courage coming from?
Straightening up, Casey crossed her arms over her chest and said, “You ran here for nothing. I thought you would be used to it by now. Why? Are you blaming me? Elsie, are you messing with me?”
Elsie dared to attack her when she wouldn’t have been able to set foot in the Hayden Mansion without Casey’s help?
Who did she think she was?
Or perhaps Casey’s low-key nature had made people forget that she was the only lady in the Hayden family. Everyone in the family spoiled her. How dare Elsie bully her? Was she getting impatient?
Oh, no, Patrick didn’t spoil her anymore.
He was now siding with outsiders to mistreat her.
Hmph, Casey would go find her older brother soon, and she would never be good to Pat again.
The more Casey thought about it, the angrier she became, inadvertently directing her anger at Elsie.
“Listen, Elsie. Your infatuation with Pat is your business. I have no obligation to help you. If you think you’re destined to be my sister-in-law, let me advise you to give up. Even if you were to become my sister-in-law, you’d still have to support me. And let’s not forget, you’re not worthy of Pat in the first place. You simply don’t deserve him.”
Casey yelled at Elsie, disregarding her completely. She called over a bodyguard from the Hayden family, instructing him to escort Elsie out, and then stormed back to her room without looking back.
Hmph, if she couldn’t teach Aimee a lesson, she would do it to Elsie instead.
From now on, she would never help this foolish woman in her pursuit of Patrick again.
Only now did Elsie realize the extent to which she had angered Casey.
She rushed forward, attempting to grab Casey and explain that it wasn’t what she thought, but Casey didn’t give her a chance.
Elsie was so angry that her nails dug into her flesh.
She couldn’t understand what had happened. Casey was fine until she entered the room, but when she came out, everything had changed.
