The moment she finished off the contents on her plate and her coffee, she shoved the chair back and sighed heavily with a groan as she stood up, feeling her drowsy eyes get the best of her this time. She was really running low on her energy this time and needed some rest, even just a little.
“Are you going training?” Harley asked as he stood up as well, leaving the table with Hope whose eyes were nearly closed at this point. “Hope?”
“I’m tired okay!?” She hissed, forcedly hitting his chest to which he didn’t react to. Instead, he smiled and watched as she yawned again, letting out some tears of fatigue just sitting on the edges of her eyelids. “I want to sleep.”
“We have a schedule today, as new alpha and beta. Mr. Roderick gave me this morning, just as a trail since it’s our first time given this responsibility.” Harley said, getting Hope to frown deeply as he grabbed her shoulders and began to push her towards the doors leading out of the mansion. “I’ve memorized the entire schedule, it’s according to time, but if we finish the timeless ones quick enough this morning, you can get to bed in time.” He whispered into her ear just so she could get intrigued at the idea of being back in bed.
“Really!?” Hope asked in joy as she sharply turned to face him, getting him to gasp as she was just too close to his face. He took a step back just so they weren’t breathing into each other’s faces. He stared down into her wide brown eyes that stared back at him with excitement, under thick curtains of black lashes, only enhancing her feminine charm.
He cleared his throat as he glanced towards the wall beside him instead, feeling his cheeks warm up at the thought of how beautiful Hope really was.
“Yeah. You could be in bed. But after noon there are things we need to do according to time.” He said as Hope grinned out and clasped her hands together, excited at the thought of sleeping.
“So what’s the first thing we need to do!?” She asked, grabbing his wrist and pulling him towards the door. “Check the army training!?”
“Wow there,” Harley sighed at how painful her grip was beginning to feel on his wrist whilst they made it out of the mansion and into the open where the sun poured its honey rays onto them with a warm embrace. “Let go, you’re going to snap my wrist in half damn it!” He hissed as he struggled to yank her arm away from him, only to get her to chuckle as she finally let him go.
“Fine. Come on, what is it?” She asked as he growled under his breath and patted his wrist to rid of the pain. “Spit it out! I need to sleep!”
“Shut up!” Harley hissed as he rolled his eyes. “The first thing we need to do is go to the throne room, there, the pack villagers will be waiting for you.” He said as he began to walk towards the throne room just across the mansion. Not very far.
“Why?” She asked as she raised her brows.
“Aren’t you an alpha’s daughter?” Harley asked with irritation in his voice when she stared up at him in curiosity. “Your dad talks to anyone with problems every single morning.”
“Every morning!?” Hope gasped in terror. “I have to listen to people complaining every morning!?”
“Let me be alpha then.” Harley smirked down at her, only to have her laugh out.
“Like I would give it to you that easily. Unless you can beat me down, you’re remaining by my side as my number two for the rest of your miserable like, Harley.” She chuckled out as guards at the doors of the throne room pushed open the doors for them to enter.
“I don’t mind.” Harley shrugged his shoulders, getting Hope to furrow her brows in confusion. She opened her mouth to say something, when she was suddenly cut short as a hand reached out and grabbed her shoulder, pulling her from Harley. She instantly felt her head cushioned between two large breasts as the woman’s arms wrapped around her head defensively.
“No! I came here first! I’ll be the first one she talks to!” The woman yelled as she tightened her hold on Hope’s head, refusing the other villagers around them from getting their hands on Hope. “Back off!”
“I came here at five in the morning!” Another woman yelled out from within the crowd.
“Oh yeah! I came here at four!” A man hissed out as he grabbed onto Hope’s wrist, trying to prey her from the woman currently possessing her.
“Well I never left since yesterday!” A man, engulfed by the crowd somewhere screamed out.
“H-Hey-” Harley was cut short when a woman grabbed his arm instead.
“Beta, will you listen to us?” The woman asked sweetly as a crowd slowly began to gather around him as well. “Hope seems busy, we really are many. Please listen to us as well….”
“Well…. I…” He stammered only to have a man grab his arm and pull him towards him.
“If he’s listening then he’ll start with me!’ The man yelled as they began to pull onto Harley’s limbs.
“I asked him first!” The woman hissed out, tugging onto Harley’s arm.
“Well good for you!” The man yelled out. “I never left since the feast!”
“That’s not my problem!” The two kept on struggling for Harley as she others began to grab his shoulders and shirt, all pulling from different directions.
Harley glanced over to Hope who was now sitting on the shoulders of a man who refused to give her up to the rest of the villagers that wanted to get their hands on her. Instead of looking panicked like Harley was at the moment, she was laughing out, throwing her head back in laughter as she couldn’t stand but find it funny.
The man that out her on her shoulders wasn’t trying to protect her, no. He just wanted to be first and stop the others from getting her. So she found it hilarious.
She glanced over to Harley as she tried to muffle her laughter, only to notice his shocked expression change from panic to laughter as well. Soon enough, they were both laughing at the situation they were in.
