Chapter 1748 The End

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

On the day of Azalea’s recovery, she was escorted out of the hospital by two police officers to wait for her sentence.
She was wearing shackles and handcuffs as she walked through the parking lot. She saw Michael with Abbie, who was holding Emma in her arms. Michael was holding Abbie’s waist, ready to get into their car.
Seeing that Michael had recovered, Azalea was extremely perplexed. She had learned from the police that Leonard’s man had tried to kill her to silence her and knew that Leonard was using her, so she did not regret her vicious behavior.
Azalea stared at the child in Abbie’s arms and Michael as she started to have vicious thoughts. If the one who got injured that day was Abbie, and if Abbie died, everything would be different now, wouldn’t it?
Michael would be living a life worse than death. His child would not have a mother anymore, and no one could have what she couldn’t. She would be satisfied.
However, all of this was just her imagination. She had tried to kill Abbie twice, yet she still managed to escape in the end.
Azalea glared venomously at Michael and Abbie, refusing to move.
The policeman who was escorting her shouted. When they heard the sound, Abbie and Michael turned around. After a quick glance, they turned their heads and got in the car with the child.
The car sped away and disappeared from Azalea’s sight.
Then, she suddenly laughed.
How pathetic!
She had done so much to get Michael, and she had always thought that she had at least existed in Michael’s and Abbie’s hearts. After all, hatred was also a kind of existence.
However, their reaction just now made Azalea feel that she was wrong.
From the beginning, she was nothing to Michael and Abbie. They had always looked down on her from the start. They completely ignored her and didn’t hate her behavior. They regarded her existence like it was nothing.
A month later, the evidence of Azalea’s intentional murder was conclusive, and she was to be executed.
When Azalea was sentenced to death, she did not go to the court, and she also refused the proposal to appeal to her lawyer.
She only made a request to her lawyer, which was wanting to meet Michael before she died.
The lawyer promised to pass the message on behalf of Azalea, but she waited for a long time and still didn’t see Michael until she was taken to the execution ground by the police.
Meanwhile, in the Howard family, Valeria was accompanied by William to the hospital for a check-up. Hayden and the nanny was taking care of Cade and Santhos at home.
Cade didn’t know that William had accompanied Valeria to the hospital for a check-up and thought that William had gone to the company. He looked around before going into Valeria and William’s room with his short legs.
Valeria didn’t take her phone with her and left it on the bedside table. Then, Cade picked up the phone and dialed William’s number.
William had just arrived at the hospital with Valeria when he heard his phone ring. “Hello?”
“Dad, it’s me, Cade!”
“What’s the matter?”
“Mom asked me to call you,” Cade said in a child-like voice.
William glanced at Valeria, who was sitting next to him, and held back his laughter. “Why did mom ask you to call me?”
“Mom likes the toy plane that has bears on it, so she asked you to buy one for her when you come back in the evening.”
William exclaimed, “Doesn’t she hate planes? I remember she likes dolls.”
“She suddenly said she likes planes today. You must remember to buy a plane when you come back, or she will be angry. She has a baby in her belly. Grandpa said that we can’t make her angry. We must make her happy, right?”
“That’s right!”
“Then hurry up and go buy the plane! Mom is waiting for your plane! Bye-bye!”
“What a liar!” Valeria burst into laughter, and William laughed as well.
“That little fool, he thinks he is very clever. I’ll laugh at him when I get home!”
When the car arrived at the hospital, William helped Valeria to the examination room. After the doctor gave Valeria a full-body examination, she went to have an ultrasound.
The baby had been in her belly for almost five months now. After the ultrasound, the doctor told them that everything was normal. This time, William was very concerned about the baby’s gender. The doctor answered with a smile, “It’s a little princess!”
After knowing that it was a girl, William was overjoyed. Later, he held Valeria’s waist as they walked out. Then, he called Hayden excitedly.
“Dad, it’s a princess!”
“That’s great!” Hayden’s laughter was deafening, which made William take his phone a little further away.
“Dad, keep your voice down. You scared me! My ears hurt.”
“Okay, okay, I’ll keep it down! I’m just so happy! I’ll call your father-in-law right now, hahaha!”
In the evening, Archer and his family came over. Hayden prepared an exquisite dinner to entertain the Saunders family.
Cade, who pretended to be Valeria and asked for a toy plane, was laughed at by William, so he was angry and was in the corner alone. He only cheered up later when Archer and Natalie arrived.
His grandfather, grandmother, and uncle brought the toy plane that he liked. He and Santhos each had one, and they took them to the garden to play.
Both of them were covered in sweat at dinner time, so the nanny helped them take a shower. When they went downstairs, Natalie and Archer each held one of them in their arms as they spoke to Hayden.
When Cade and Santhos heard that the baby in Valeria’s belly would be a girl, they were very happy. They asked in their little voices, “She would be very beautiful, would she? As beautiful as Emma?”
“Yes!” Natalie replied.
“That’s great! I will play with her every day. I’ll give her whatever she wants.”
“You don’t want Emma anymore?” Natalie teased him.
“I do! I will take her with me!”
Hearing that, everyone laughed.
Three months later, Abbie and Michael’s wedding was held. The wedding was luxurious and grand, and it was reported by the media. Cade and Santhos were invited to be page boys.
Valeria and William sat below the stage, watching Michael confess to Abbie affectionately before the two of them exchanged rings and kissed each other. A smile appeared on Valeria’s face, and her eyes were full of tears.
Her best friend finally found her happiness, and she was sincerely happy for Abbie.
After Abbie and Michael’s wedding, they went on their honeymoon abroad. After the honeymoon, Abbie had a new life in her belly.
Four months later, Valeria gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in the hospital, and Cade and Santhos now had a lovely baby sister.
The Howard family’s little princess was named Hetti Howard. Ever since she was born, she was loved and doted on by all.
Hayden’s love for his little granddaughter exceeded that of his love for Cade and Santhos. He held a grand banquet and gave out blessings to everyone. He also set up a foundation for the little princess and had customized all kinds of colorful jewelry for her when she was one month old.
As for William, he had become devoted to his little girl. He had even brought his daughter with him at work.
He would even hold her in his arms during meetings, to which Valeria disapproved, but he did not repent at all.
Cade and Santhos’ places in the family were not at the top now, but the two little boys were not angry at all because they liked their sister very much.
The first thing they did after getting up every day was to go to their sister’s room to see her.
They fought about talking to their sister and making her happy. Hetti had replaced Cade and Santhos and become the new head of the Howard family.
In the following year, Raymond and Anna gave birth to a beautiful little princess too. The next spring, Richard and Braelynn’s child was born, while Andrew and Talia’s child came the following autumn.
The birth of the new lives injected these families with new blood and replaced the old generation. From then on, B City would be theirs to conquer.
