Chapter 1677 Riskier

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Michael was a man of his word, so he really took Azalea to dinner that night.
Azalea was extremely happy. She ignored the fact that there were still wounds on her face and frantically rubbed ointment on it. She covered the scars on her face with concealer and changed into her most beautiful clothes. Then, she repeatedly scrutinized herself in the mirror to make sure that she looked flawless before rushing to the restaurant where Michael had reserved for dinner.
Michael was different from usual and he actually arrived in advance. His attitude towards Azalea changed a lot. He even gently talked to her and asked her what she wanted to eat.
Azalea was overwhelmed when Michael showed her such affection. “I can eat anything!”
“Then I’ll order. Let’s have a drink at a bar!” Michael began to order and prepared a bottle of red wine.
This dinner was very pleasant, at least to Azalea.
Michael not only chatted with her, but he also served her some food and she drank two glasses of red wine.
She was so drunk on his affection that she felt tipsy at the end of the dinner.
Michael took the initiative to say thoughtfully, “I prepared a private room upstairs. Would you have a rest before leaving?”
Of course, Azalea would not refuse, so she immediately nodded and said, “Okay!”
Michael got up with Azalea staggering beside him. She always felt that she had a high tolerance at alcohol, so it was strange for her to feel so dizzy that she couldn’t walk properly.
Michael reached out to hold her when he saw her like this.
Azalea leaned her whole body against Michael. Just as they walked out of the restaurant, Anna and Abbie came over hand in hand.
Anna chatted with Abbie as she walked. “This restauran’s grilled fish is very delicious. I’ve eaten it several times.”
“Really?” Abbie naturally knew that the dishes in this restaurant were delicious, but she didn’t expect that Anna liked it as well.
“We won’t be eating alone today because I called one of my friends.”
“You have friends? Who is it?”
“You’ll… You’ll know later.” A shy expression flashed across Anna’s face.
However, Anna stopped talking suddenly and said disdainfully when she saw Azalea leaning against Michael’s body, “B*tch! Scum!”
Abbie was expressionless and she didn’t even spare a glance at Michael before brushing past them.
Abbie’s disregard made Michael pause for a moment. His eyes suddenly fell on Azalea, who was leaning on him, and he strode straight to the elevator with a sneer.
Meanwhile, Anna scolded Michael and Azalea while she ordered in the restaurant. “I really want to kill those two b*stards! Michael is such a jerk. I dealt with him before and he actually sent me to the police station. William was the one who saved me after that.”
“Did that really happen?” It was impossible for Abbie to feel nothing when she saw Azalea and Michael being lovey dovey, but her heart felt even colder after hearing Anna’s words.
“Michael is not a useless b*stard, but Leonard is no better than him. You must be careful and you must never date Leonard!”
Abbie didn’t comment on this. Just then, Raymond came in and Anna waved excitedly when she saw him. “We’re here!”
Raymond walked over with a smile and sat down beside Anna. Then, he looked at Abbie and said, “Hello!”
“Nice to meet you!” Abbie replied.
Anna introduced Raymond. “Abbie, he’s Valeria’s brother.”
Of course, Abbie knew that Raymond was Valeria’s brother. As Anna looked at him with a shy expression, Abbie wondered if Anna had a crush on him.
She blurted out, “What’s your relationship with him?”
“He’s my boyfriend.” Anna answered shyly.
“What!? You and him?” Abbie was dumbfounded.
Anna immediately said when she saw Abbie’s stunned look, “Yes, I have been with him for some time.”
“Do my parents and my brother know? Why didn’t I hear them talk about it?”
“Abbie, Auntie doesn’t know about this. You are the first person that knows, so you have to keep it a secret for us!”
Abbie was very surprised because she didn’t expect that someone as hard-headed as Anna would like Raymond.
“When are you going to tell your family?”
Raymond said, “I don’t have a problem with it and I can make it public at any time, but Anna has her own concerns.”
Anna smiled and said, “Let’s talk about it later. We feel that we’re enjoying each other’s company now, but whether we can get married or not would depend on fate. I think it’s better if we only tell our family once we agree on getting married.”
“Is that so? It’s up to you to decide.” Abbie knew that Raymond was a good person, so it would be a good thing if Anna and Raymond really got married.
Anna and Raymond served each other some food and soup while they ate. It was as if they only had eyes for each other. As Abbie watched the two of them being so loving to each other, she felt more uncomfortable by the minute.
After dinner, Anna and Raymond held hands as they went to the movie theatre while Abbie went home alone.
However, she unexpectedly saw Michael when she arrived at the parking lot. His car was parked next to hers, and he was standing beside his car with a cigarette in his hand.
Didn’t Michael leave with Azalea in his embrace? Why was he here alone?”
Just as Abbie was confused, she saw Michael walking quickly towards her.
There were no outsiders in the parking lot, and Abbie looked at Michael coldly as he approached her.
Michael’s eyes were sparkling. “Abbie!”
Abbie looked at Michael silently. Just as he closed the distance between them and reached out to touch her, Abbie lifted her foot and stepped heavily on Michael’s foot.
Abbie was wearing high heels, but she didn’t want to show mercy at all. Michael grimaced and his face was distorted with pain.
Abbie paid no attention to Michael at all and got into her car after stepping on him.
Michael also tried to stop the car. However, he had no choice but to get out of the way when Abbie stepped on the accelerator and drove towards him directly.
As Abbie’s car left the parking lot, Michael squatted on the ground and sent a message to William with his mobile phone. “She just hurt me again.”
After a while, William replied and asked, “Who? Is it Abbie?”
“Who else would dare to do this to me besides her? William, her eyes are full of hatred for me. I don’t believe that she doesn’t remember me. If that’s true, then she wouldn’t hate me so much!”
William knew that Abbie did not lose her memory, but he could only comfort Michael. “Now is not the time for you to look for Abbie, and you should win Azalea’s heart first.”
Michael said hatefully, “Don’t worry. That b*tch is upstairs with another man now!”
William warned him, “Don’t go too far and be careful not to arouse Azalea’s suspicion. I think it’s enough for you to do this once, since it’ll be riskier the more you do it.”
