Leonard thought that Richard would ask for countless conditions, but he didn’t expect that he just had to cut ties with other women.
Leonard immediately agreed. “I can do it!”
“Mr. Floyd, I’m not joking with you and I’m serious. Are you sure you can do it?”
“I’m very sure!”
Richard stared at Leonard, but the latter didn’t avoid his gaze either. “Mr. Clark, I sincerely want to marry Abbie and I won’t play any tricks under your watch. If I break my promise, you can deal with me however you like!”
Leonard’s words sounded sincere, so Richard looked at Abbie and asked, “Are you sure you want to be with him?”
Abbie nodded. “Yes!”
Richard nodded and said, “Okay, since you can fulfil my request and you’re determined to marry Abbie, I won’t object to your marriage.”
“Richard!” Helen was reluctant to let her beloved daughter marry a man who already had a child. “She has lost her memory and she doesn’t know what she is doing. I think we should discuss this more instead of being so hasty!”
Donald also said, “We don’t know what kind of person Mr. Floyd is, so we’d better think about it first.”
When Richard saw that both Donald and Helen were opposed to it, he thought for a moment and said, “How about this? Mr. Floyd and Abbie have already dated for quite some time. If they don’t change their feelings for each other, we can let them engaged first and decide on the marriage later!”
Donald and Helen stopped talking after they heard Richard’s words. Of course, Leonard wouldn’t refuse either, so the matter was resolved just like that.
Valeria thought that Richard would strongly object to this matter, but she didn’t expect that Richard would agree to it. She was extremely unhappy, so she glared at Richard and said, “I’ll kill you if Abbie is miserable in the future!”
When Valeria left angrily after that, Richard smiled and followed her out. Leonard heard Valeria’s voice coming from outside. “Get lost! Don’t explain anything to me, I won’t listen to you! Richard, I hate you and I want my husband to cut ties with you!”
After a while, the sound of a car could be heard from outside when Valeria left furiously.
Valeria left the Clark family in a fit of anger and went back to the Howard family’s mansion. William wasn’t at the company, but he was playing in the garden with Cade and Santhos.
Valeria saw William sitting on the sand while the twins each held a small bucket filled with sand and poured it over him.
Cade kept calling, “Papa! Papa!”
Santhos couldn’t speak, so he just looked at how William’s face was covered in sand and laughed happily.
Valeria was speechless when she saw this, “What’s wrong with you? Are you a child?”
“Nope, I’m a toddler.” William sat on the sand and answered cheekily.
“Don’t you hate being dirty?”
“The sand is very clean. Why don’t you join us?”
Valeria shook her head in disgust. “It’s enough for their Dad to be insane. I’d better keep my sanity.”
While she was talking, Cade came over to pull her. “Mama! Mama!”
As he shouted, he gestured for Valeria to sit down because he wanted to pour sand on her body.
Valeria’s face darkened. “Pour it on your father. He likes it!”
Cade wouldn’t let her go and forced her to sit down, but she refused. William then reached out and pulled her into his arms. As he held her in his arms, Cade and Santhos began to pour sand on her body. When she looked at the sand on her new clothes, she glared at William and said, “This is the first time I’m wearing these clothes!”
“Aren’t they just clothes? I’ll buy you a new set later.”
“You’re so wasteful!” Valeria gritted her teeth. “Look at both of them! They’re covered in sand, and it’ll be troublesome when they take a shower later.”
“It’s not a big deal. Since it’s just a bath, I can take them to the swimming pool to clean them up.”
“How can you call yourself a father?!” Valeria glared at William, who smiled and said, “Are you in a bad mood? Did Abbie make you upset?”
“Don’t mention it. That b*stard actually went to the Clark family to discuss his marriage with Abbie. Helen and Donald weren’t very happy about this, but that jerk, Richard, agreed to it when he came back. What on earth is he thinking? Is he crazy?”
“I don’t care if Richard has gone mad. Let’s talk about another thing first. What did Abbie say when you mentioned Leonard’s girlfriend?”
“She knew everything from the start. I forced Leonard to admit that the child is still alive, but she still wants to be the child’s stepmother. I’m so angry!”
“Is that so? You’re pretty awesome to have dug out the truth.” William praised her.
“What’s the big deal? The point is that Leonard admitted that he has an illegitimate child, but Abbie still likes him. Instead, she wants to be the stepmother to his illegitimate child. Do you think Leonard brainwashed her? What did he even do to her!?”
William smiled and said, “Maybe Abbie’s feelings for his child are real, and she really loves his child very much that she wants to be the kid’s mother.”
“Why would it turn out like this?” Valeria couldn’t figure it out.
“It’s the glory of a mother’s love!”
“It won’t be surprising if it was her own child, but I can’t figure out why she would care about an outsider’s child!”
“You’ll figure it out in the future!” William had an unfathomable smile on his face.
“What do you know about this? Tell me now!”
“I don’t know anything!” William smiled and let go of Valeria. Then, he stood up while he held his sons’ hands. “Let’s go. I’ll shower both of you!”
Leonard was in a good mood because his plan was successful and he stayed at the Clark family’s mansion for lunch.
Abbie felt disgusted every time she saw Leonard, but she could only endure it for Emma.
Abbie and Leonard went for a walk in the garden after lunch, where he made another promise to her. “Abbie, I’ll be good to you. I’ll love and cherish you forever!”
Of course, Abbie did not believe Leonard’s words and she said lightly, “What are you going to do about the child?”
“You can visit Emma any time.”
“Am I just allowed to look at her? Can’t I take care of her since I’m her mother?” Abbie asked.
“Abbie, I’ll let you take care of your child, but it’s not the right time now. I’ve already told your parents that the child is mine. What will they think of me if I let you take care of my child now?”
“My parents’ opinions are not important. I will tell them that I want to treat your child as my own to get closer to her.”
“Your parents are both smart people, and they’ll definitely be suspicious of it if we aren’t married. You will be Emma’s legitimate mother after we get married, so you can take care of her all the time.”
This meant that Leonard would keep her child captive if she refused to get married. Abbie understood immediately and said. “I will persuade my parents to let us get married as soon as possible!”
