Abbie didn’t say anything and just looked at Azalea coldly.
Azalea had a smile on her face. “Abbie, it’s so nice to see you! I thought you… I’m glad you’re back. Did you know that I gave birth to Michael’s child? It’s a boy, and we’re living in the Davis family now because I’m going to marry Michael soon.”
Abbie controlled her urge to smash her cup on Azalea’s head and she just looked at Azalea coldly.
Azalea was frightened by her gaze, but she continued to smile. “Well, you know what? Actually, I have a lot to say to you.”
“I see that you still hate me like before. The reason why you don’t like me is because of Michael, right? Although I am an illegitimate daughter, Michael likes me better and he used you to hide the fact that he was dating me. I know that it’s wrong, but we had no choice. I don’t deserve him and I don’t want him to be criticized, so my only choice was to drag you down.”
“Get lost!” Abbie gritted her teeth and said.
“That’s right! I’ve always wanted to apologize to you. Will you forgive me? I don’t want to do this either, but Michael and I love each other. We can’t bear to be apart, so we could only use you to cover up our relationship. Michael and I were very regretful after your accident. We shouldn’t have used you, but the mistake has already been made and there is no way for us to change it. Michael said that he can’t live without me, but I couldn’t enter the Davis family with my lowly status. Michael discussed it with me and decided to make me pregnant. With that, I’ll have the right to enter the Davis family after I give birth.”
Abbie narrowed her eyes and looked at Azalea. What did Azalea mean by blatantly displaying how loving she and Michael were?
Did she want to see Abbie’s reaction? Why would that even be important to Azalea? Since Azalea was the murderer who had pushed her into the sea, logically speaking, Azalea should be terrified of seeing her at this moment.
It was obvious that Azalea dared to provoke her like this because Leonard had disclosed information about her memory loss. What was the reason behind Leonard’s collusion with Azalea?
She didn’t believe that Azalea could bring Leonard any practical benefits, so she could only think of one reason.
Did Leonard ask Azalea to test her because he suspected that she had not completely lost her memory?
Abbie continued to look at Azalea coldly, so the latter sighed and said, “I thought that the Davis family would let me go after I was pregnant, but they still didn’t approve of my status as an illegitimate daughter. They even viciously attacked me, but I was so lucky that Michael found me in time. Because of this matter, Michael became enemies with his grandfather and mother. I thought that I would never be able to marry Michael officially, but I unexpectedly reached a turning point and I turned out to be the daughter of the Gurney family. Although my identity is not very justifiable, it is much better than before.”
“Wayne and Meadow reluctantly accepted me, but what they did before was too much that it broke Michael’s heart. Michael still hated his grandfather and mother, so he reached an agreement with my father, Francis. He gave the shares of the Davis family as a betrothal gift to my father on the condition that he would marry me, so he no longer has any shares left.”
Abbie had already read everything that Azalea told her on the news. Michael was really loving to Azalea, and a sneer appeared on Abbie’s face. “If you and Michael are so close, why did he come to me? He doesn’t love you at all and he even begged me to forgive him.”
Azalea didn’t know that Michael was beaten up after he looked for Abbie, so an embarrassed expression flashed across her face. “Michael probably felt guilty towards you, which is why he went to beg for your forgiveness.”
“Is that so? Do you know what I did to him?” Abbie asked softly. Just then, a waiter brought a few dishes from the neighbouring table. Abbie got up and reached out to take the hot dishes from the waiter before pouring them on Azalea’s head.
The dish had just been cooked, so it was extremely hot. Azalea released a blood-curdling scream, but Abbie smiled as she said, “I smashed his head with a plate back then, but he didn’t scream as miserably as you!”
Leonard had just entered the restaurant after Abbie finished speaking. When he saw Azalea’s miserable state, a faint smile appeared on his lips and he quickly walked up to her. “What’s wrong?”
Abbie turned to look at Leonard indifferently. “This disgusting piece of sh*t just came to provoke me, so I just taught her a lesson. What do you think of this? Should I make her suffer more?”
“Well… she is already very miserable. I think it’s better to stop now.”
“Really?” Abbie looked at Leonard and said, “I heard from Valeria that if someone dares to provoke her, William will make them wish they were dead. Can’t you do the same for me?”
Leonard didn’t expect Abbie to say that, so he was stunned for a moment. “It’s not that I don’t want to protect you, but it’s just that she’s already in a lot of pain.”
“Is she really miserable? Since her voice is still so loud, I’m sure she’s alright.”
“Her skin is already burnt. Abbie, you should learn to be the bigger person!”
“I wanted to spare her as well, but she provoked me first. She completely humiliated me, so why do I have to obey her?” Abbie emphasized. “Leonard, what I need is a man who is completely loyal to me and can protect me. Why should I be with you if you can’t even do this?”
Leonard was stunned by Abbie’s question. He had called Azalea here and promised that he wouldn’t harm her. However, Azalea had been already been scalded by Abbie and he had to teach her a lesson as well.
Abbie would definitely suspect him if he didn’t listen to her. However, he would be breaking his promise to Azalea if he attacked her. If she told Abbie that he was the one who ordered her to do this, he would be in trouble as well.
Leonard was silent for a few seconds before he ordered the bodyguards behind him, “Take her away and punish her!”
If Azalea was dragged out, it would mean that she wouldn’t be punished at all. With this, Abbie sneered and said, “This b*tch dared to provoke me. She’s so annoying, so I want to watch you punish her with my own eyes! Otherwise, I won’t be able to vent my anger at all!”
Abbie stared at Leonard, who was in a dilemma. He had always thought that Abbie was very gentle, but he had never thought that she would be so violent. Leonard knew that he couldn’t make Abbie upset after he pondered about it for a while, so he signalled to the bodyguards.
The bodyguards stepped forward and gave Azalea a few heavy slaps. She was already in great pain from the burns, but she was beaten so hard that she could barely breathe. When she saw Leonard standing next to Abbie and thought about how he had broken his promise to her, pure hatred rose in her heart. She then opened her mouth and scolded, “Leonard, you b*stard…”
Just then, the bodyguard quickly dislocated Azalea’s chin before she could even finish her sentence.
