Chapter 1654 This Isn’t Going Well

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Wayne brought his men to the hospital ward to visit Michael. When he walked along the corridor, he could hear the sound of a child crying from inside.
He and the butler then took a few quick steps and pushed the door open. He was completely shocked when he saw the situation inside the room. “Hurry! Pull Michael away!”
It took the butler and Wayne a lot of effort to break Michael’s grip on Azalea’s neck.
Azalea was already in a coma by the time the nurse and doctor rushed over when they heard the news.
Azalea was sent to the emergency room while her child was still wailing on the ground. On the other side, Michael leaned against the bed as he laughed wildly.
When Wayne saw the crazed look in Michael’s eyes, he picked up the crying child from the ground and went outside with the housekeeper fearfully.
The butler looked at Michael with a terrified expression. “Sir, what’s wrong with Michael?”
“He must have been agitated by something. We’ll have to let the doctor deal with him, and it’s best to give him a tranquillizer shot.”
Michael fell asleep after the doctor gave him an injection. After that, Wayne handed the child to the nanny and asked the doctor with a worried look, “Doctor, is he all right?”
“It’s hard to say, we’ll have to give him a check-up first.”
Michael was sent to the examination room, but they couldn’t find anything wrong with him even after a thorough examination. Wayne breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the results.
However, he was a little worried when he thought of how Michael had just strangled Azalea.
There were two purposes for Wayne to come to the hospital to visit Michael. The first was because he heard that Michael had a car accident, and the second was because he had accepted Francis’ suggestion to discuss Azalea’s marriage with Michael. However, he had never expected to see such a scene.
If Michael could even strangle Azalea, how could he possibly marry her?
This matter was not easy to deal with at all!
Azalea gradually woke up after she received treatment, but her neck hurt so much that she couldn’t speak. She was filled with fear when she thought of how cruel Michael was to her just now.
She hurriedly grabbed her phone and sent a message to Francis. “Dad, I was almost strangled to death by Michael!”
“What’s going on?” Francis replied instantly.
“I don’t know either. I followed your instructions and took our child to the ward to visit him, but Michael suddenly went berserk and strangled me wordlessly. If Wayne hadn’t arrived in time, I would have been dead by now.”
“This…” Francis didn’t know what to reply after he looked at Azalea’s message.
Michael was not an impulsive person and Azalea had not done anything bad recently, so why did he suddenly act so violently?
Could he have found out that Francis had drugged him?
Wasn’t that the only reason that could cause Michael to go insane?
Francis would have a hard time handling this matter if Michael knew the truth.
After all, it was not the right time to expose the truth yet. If Michael knew that Francis was planning to forcefully cut his lineage, he would definitely retaliate mercilessly.
Francis felt guilty and immediately discussed the matter with Frederick to discuss it. “Send someone to the hospital immediately to find out why Michael tried to kill Azalea. Remember to tell me as soon as you find a lead!”
Meanwhile, Abbie didn’t refuse when Valeria chose to stay with her last night in the Clark family. She treated Valeria much better than Helen.
It was as though they’d never been apart as they reminisced about the past on Abbie’s bed in her room. Valeria kept telling stories while Abbie listened.
Abbie could remember all the things that Valeria had told her. She really wanted to tell Valeria everything, but she suppressed her feelings when she remembered that Leonard was holding her daughter captive.
It was not the right time yet. Even if she wanted to tell Valeria, she would have to wait for a while.
It was three o’clock in the morning by the time Valeria fell asleep after telling Abbie everything about what happened. Then, Abbie reached out to hold Valeria when she saw that the latter was asleep.
Valeria was still her best friend, and they could finally sleep in the same bed and talk to each other.
It felt so good to be missed by someone!
Valeria was still in a daze when a phone call woke her up. Then, she realized that it was Wiliam when she picked it up.
“Are you still sleeping?”
“Yeah, we talked too much last night.” Valeria rubbed her eyes. “What’s the matter?”
“Your sons miss you.” William’s voice came from the other end of the phone.
Her twins were only less than eight months old. They were not good at talking, but they were very smart and they would look for Valeria and William every morning.
Cade and Santhos were upset when they only saw William when they woke up, so they kept asking for Valeria relentlessly.
William had no choice but to call Valeria. When she heard her sons’ voices, she said with a gentle smile on her face, “Both of you are good boys, I’m still with Abbie.”
The twins became even more excited when they heard Valeria’s voice. Then, they shouted even louder and Santhos even burst into tears because he would always cling to Valeria.
Valeria had no choice but to coax him in a soft voice. Abbie also woke up by then, and she said with a smile on her face when she heard this, “Valeria, why don’t you let me see your children?”
Of course, Valeria would not refuse. “Alright, I’ll bring them here! Speaking of which, you must be bored after being abroad for such a long time. I’ll keep you company and take you out to enjoy ourselves every day.”
Abbie immediately agreed. “Alright!”
Bobby and Jacelyn then brought a nanny along as they sent Cade and Santhos to meet Abbie.
The two children reached out as soon as they saw Valeria because they wanted to hug her. Since she could only hug one of them, she hugged Santhos first. Just then, Cade became upset when he saw this and he started to cry.
Abbie was behind them when she immediately reached out and said, “Let me carry you!”
Cade’s attention was drawn to Abbie and he stared at her with his bright eyes.
“What are you looking at? Have you never seen such a beautiful girl like me?”
Valeria smiled and said, “He likes good-looking people, and he’ll let you hold him if he likes you.”
Abbie then took Cade over from Bobby. As she tried to cheer Cade up, he eventually started to giggle happily.
Valeria asked when she realized that William wasn’t with them, “Where’s William?”
“He has something to deal with at the company, but he said that he would treat Miss Clark to dinner tonight.”
Valeria turned to look at Abbie when she heard about the dinner plans. “Why don’t we go to Wolf Group for breakfast?”
“It’s almost noon, so you guys can just eat at home. I’ve already prepared the food,” Helen said.
Of course, Abbie would not eat the food that Helen had prepared personally. Valeria and Abbie sat down at the table while they carried the twins in their arms. Then, they began to have breakfast while they fed Cade and Santhos.
They didn’t put up a fight at all and ate all the food that was given to them.
Valeria was very skilled at taking care of babies since she was experienced, so she was obviously stunned when she saw how naturally Abbie fed Cade.
Abbie was a rich heiress who had never fed a child before, so how could she be so skilled at taking care of Cade?
