After Angel had drafted her words, she called Deborah’s number. However, Deborah didn’t answer the call. After calling her a few times with no answer, Angel then called Callum instead.
This time, the call was connected. Callum’s voice was very cold. “Who is it?”
“Dad! It’s me, it’s Angel!” Angel’s voice sounded soft and pitiful.
“It’s you? Why are you calling me?” Callum asked coldly.
“I… Dad… I gave birth prematurely!”
Angel’s voice was choked with sobs. After that, she waited for Callum to answer.
However, Callum didn’t respond to her at all. Instead, she heard the sounds of him flipping through documents. It was apparent that Callum was uninterested in what she was saying.
Angel was a little scared. It seemed to be a mistake to call Callum. She should have continued calling Deborah since she was a woman and would sympathize with others easily.
Although she regretted it, she couldn’t change it anymore and could only continue. “I was in so much danger that night. For some reason, I was bleeding profusely and unconscious. Thankfully Madelyn discovered me and sent me to the hospital. But the situation didn’t turn for the better. The doctors operated on me and took out the child. My… my uterus ruptured and was removed!”
Angel sobbed and said as she waited for Callum to comfort her. Unexpectedly, Callum said, “Oh? The heavens are just! No wonder it’s said that good and evil will be rewarded in due time. I’ve finally understood the meaning of this.”
Something felt wrong with what Callum was saying, and Angel was stunned. “Dad, what do you mean?”
“You should know what I mean. Ms. Laban, what you are suffering now is your retribution!”
Angel’s heart sank as she wondered what he meant. Did the Floyd family find out about her identity? It shouldn’t be. Was she thinking too much? So she called out pitifully, “Dad…”
“Don’t call me dad!” Callum interrupted Angel. “You are that b*stard Ornard’s daughter. How dare you call me dad? How dare you try to get my sympathies? Did you and that b*stard Ornard think that we Floyd family knows nothing? Let me tell you. From the day you were driven away from the Floyd family, we knew the entire truth! Do you think you can act pitifully and use the Floyd family? Dream on!”
Callum hung up the phone as soon as he finished speaking. Angel’s blood ran cold. It was no wonder the Floyd family treated her so cruelly. They had known the truth! She should have thought about it!
After being rebuked, Angel called Ornard again anxiously. “The Floyd family knows! The Floyd family knew that I am your daughter, so they drove me out!”
Ornard’s fantasy was shattered. “In that case, we can only talk to Richard!”
“We should settle this as soon as possible. You better hurry back and deal with this soon. If not, I won’t be at ease.”
“How about this? I will ask Paisley to meet with Mrs. Clark as my wife to tell her about the child and see the Clark family’s response. It would be best if Mrs. Clark would give in since you gave birth to a son. Then things will be easier for us.”
“What if Mrs. Clark doesn’t give in?” As the Floyd family had long known her identity, Angel didn’t dare to take things lightly. She felt that things were going in a bad direction.
Ornard was also skeptical. Since the Floyd family knew about Angel’s identity, would they have already started planning a scheme? The plan to use Angel’s child as a bargaining chip had already derailed, but he still held on to hope until the last minute.
“If Helen doesn’t give in, I’ll talk to Richard personally! No matter what, I must get the Clark family to acknowledge this child!”
When Paisley heard that Angel had given birth to her child but had her uterus removed, she was happy but furious at the same time.
Paisley was glad that Angel’s retribution had come. There was no better revenge than watching her having her uterus removed at such a young age.
But she was furious because the child was born safely. The Clark family would surely acknowledge the child. If they still see Angel as a daughter of the Floyd family, Angel might be able to marry into the Clark family. This is what Paisley was unwilling to see.
Although she was unhappy, she still had to do what she should do on the surface.
She brought Danya with her several times to visit Angel in the hospital and also the child who was in the incubator. Whenever Paisley and Danya visited the child, they would curse the child to not live till tomorrow in their hearts.

Ornard called Paisley to ask her to meet with Helen. Although Paisley was unwilling to, she couldn’t show it and could only accept the task reluctantly.
Danya saw her hanging up the phone and asked, “Miss, are you really going to talk to Mrs. Clark about Angel?”
“I’m Ornard’s legitimate wife now. It’s only natural for me to heed his request and meet with Mrs. Clark. I have no excuse to refuse it.” Paisley sighed. “It’s fine. I shall go! I also am curious to see how the Clark family would respond. It will be best if they don’t acknowledge the child. Things will get fun from then!”

Helen chuckled and said, “You should ask Angel for the details. But I can tell you with certain. Angel’s child has nothing to do with the Clark family! And she can never hope to get involved with the Clark family!”
