Chapter 1596 Make The Right Decision

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Evelyn was so angry that she wanted to vomit blood. She didn’t want to beg Valeria, but she would be thrown out if she didn’t do so. Instead of being thrown out and having people laugh at her, it was better to beg Valeria.
At least, there were only the bodyguards, William, and Valeria in the lounge.
With this thought, Evelyn no longer felt embarrassed. She immediately turned to Valeria and pleaded, “Mrs. Howard! I’m begging you!”
Valeria finally gave in. “Since Ms. Gurney knows she’s in the wrong, let her go! You guys make sure she leaves!”
The bodyguards watched as Evelyn left from the back door. William sat down next to Valeria and asked, “What’s going on?”
“She provoked me!” Valeria answered casually.
William knew Valeria’s temper. If Evelyn hadn’t annoyed her, she would never do this. He wrapped his arm around Valeria’s waist and said, “Alright, I’ll calm you down! Don’t be angry. It’ll give you wrinkles! Cheer up!”
Hearing him say such words in a loving tone, Valeria burst into laughter.
“Aren’t you curious about what she did?”
“What did she do?” William asked.
“She provoked me with some photos and said that you two were a couple before.”
William’s eyes widened in shock. “Her and me? Did I hear wrongly?”
“No, you didn’t! She even said that I used tricks to marry you and that I relied on my sons to raise my status.”
“Wait! Is Evelyn crazy? She has to get treated!” William was furious. Fortunately, Valeria did not doubt him. If she were jealous, he would be in deep trouble.
Wait, that wasn’t right. Why didn’t Valeria blame him at all? Why wasn’t she jealous?
William looked at Valeria and said, “You didn’t doubt me when you saw the photos? Aren’t you jealous or angry at all?”
“If the photos were real, I would kill you!” Valeria glared at William. “My intuition tells me that you won’t like a woman like Evelyn. I felt what she had wasn’t real, so I won’t waste my time getting angry over this!”
“My wife is so smart!” William kissed Valeria on the face. “Since you trust me so much, I won’t let you down! I’ll reward you when we get home tonight!”
“You’re getting more and more shameless!” Valeria tapped his forehead as she blushed.
“Why would I need to hold back when in front of my wife? I like to see your blushing face when I act shamelessly!”
“William! I don’t want to talk to you anymore!” Valeria pretended to be angry and stood up. William also stood up and said, “Alright, I’m sorry! Let’s talk when we are home. Now, let’s go down and meet the guests! We are not done here yet.”
In the hospital, Abbie was sitting alone on her bed while reading the local news on her phone. The news of William and Valeria holding a 100th-day party for the two babies had already been reported.
The babies’ faces were censored in the photos. The reporter described them as the most beautiful babies he had ever seen.
Abbie stared at the photos of Cade and Santhos, who were supposed to be her godsons. She had promised to go shopping and eat with Valeria with the two boys.
Yet she had never seen them nor hugged them, although the boys had grown so old.
Even though the pictures of the two babies were censored, Abbie could still imagine how handsome and cute they were. She looked at the photos of the babies with a smile on her face.
Suddenly, she thought of something. Abbie reached out her hand to touch her belly. There was a life inside her belly too.
It was Michael and her child. Before she regained her memory, she was full of expectations for this child. But now, she remembered how Michael betrayed her time again and how he was unfaithful to her. He even made Azalea pregnant, although it hadn’t been long after her supposed death. Abbie felt too pitiful!
All the love she had for Michael before had all turned into hatred for him now!
She didn’t want to bear a scumbag’s child. She didn’t want anything to do with Michael.
She had come back for her revenge. Abbie wouldn’t let Azalea get away with it after what she did. As for Michael, Abbie wanted to slap him and ask him if he felt guilty about all this.
Of course, slapping Michael in the face was the most childish way of revenge. She wanted not only to slap him but also to make him lose his reputation and everything he owned!
Since she and Michael were destined to be enemies, she couldn’t keep the baby in her belly!
But at the thought of aborting the child, Abbie hesitated again.
This child was not only Michael’s but also hers. The child carried her blood in it. Was she sure she could give up on it?
She was not an incompetent woman. She did not need to rely on her family or men to raise this child herself and give it a good education and comfortable life. In this case, what reason did she have to give up on the child?
If she couldn’t face the past, she would not be able to walk out of it. Her feelings for Michael couldn’t be erased by getting rid of the child.
Running away wasn’t the solution. She had to face her feelings and thoughts to make the right decision!
As Abbie was thinking to herself, the door was pushed open. Leonard came in with flowers and some snacks in his hands.
As soon as he entered, he gave Abbie a charming smile and asked in a soft voice, “How do you feel today?”
“Much better!” Abbie looked at Leonard’s smile and remembered William’s smile. She felt a chill in her heart, but she restrained herself and forced a smile.
Leonard saw Abbie’s eyes twinkle as she held her phone. He put down the flowers and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“I’m reading the local news.” Abbie showed her phone to Leonard openly, which surprised Leonard.
He had some doubts about Abbie and had been testing her for a few days. Leonard was confused by Abbie’s reaction.
Abbie showed him the news of William and Valeria holding a 100th-day party for their children. Leonard looked at it and said, “This news is about your best friend, Valeria, holding a 100th-day party for her children. Abbie, do you remember Valeria?”
“No!” Abbie shook her head. “But I feel her friendly from the photo. By the way, why do you look so much like her husband? Are you related?”
“Something like that!” Leonard replied.
“Are you really related? How are you and Valeria’s husband related? Since you’re a relative, why aren’t you attending their children’s 100th-day party?”
“He’s just a distant relative. I’m not familiar with him.”
“I see.” Abbie was surprised that Leonard was related to William. Since his last name was Floyd, he should be from the Floyd family.
She had never heard of someone named Leonard in the Floyd family. How strange.
As she thought about this, she saw Leonard staring at her belly.
