Chapter 1583 A Long and Heartbreaking Dream

Book:That Stranger Lying Beside Me Published:2024-6-1

Abbie had had a long and heartbreaking dream!
In her dream, she was still studying abroad, and her brother, Richard, was worried about her, so he specially arranged for his good friend, Michael, to take care of her.
Michael treated her very well. He listened to music with her, brought her to the theatre and amusement park, and even bought delicious food for her. When she was angry, Michael would always be there to coax and calm her. His voice was very gentle, and he always looked at Abbie with gentle eyes. Abbie and he felt very happy together.
Abbie had never thought that something like that would happen between her and Michael. She had always regarded Michael as her brother and had always thought that Michael regarded her as a sister too.
Until one night, Michael had had some wine and kissed Abbie.
Abbie was very shocked. She had wanted to slap Michael in the face, but she couldn’t do it after she raised her hand.
Therefore, Michael took the opportunity and confessed to her. He said, “Abbie, I like you! I have liked you since you were a kid. I have been waiting for you to grow up. I wanted to control my feelings for you, but now, I realized that I couldn’t. Abbie, be my girlfriend. I will be good to you.”
Abbie didn’t say yes to Michael. Instead, she thought about it for a whole night and found it ridiculous.
How could she be with her brother’s friend? She was only grateful to him and was used to Michael being by her side. This was not the love she wanted! She wanted a passionate and unforgettable relationship.
Abbie told Michael not to come looking for her anymore in the future. She distanced herself from Michael and told herself to stay away from his social circle too.
But when she saw Michael laughing with other women at a party not long after, she felt uncomfortable.
She had been stealing glances at Michael at that party, hoping that he would come over and say hello to her like in the past, but he never did.
He ignored Abbie’s existence completely, and it made her feel upset and sad. She was unwilling to admit that she liked Michael, but she had no choice but to face this fact.
After being separated from Michael for half a month, she missed him more as the days went by. She had tried to find someone to fall in love with and wanted to forget him through another relationship.
However, she just couldn’t succeed. After that, at another party, she saw Michael dancing with another woman, and when she heard someone say that was Michael’s girlfriend, Abbie felt heartbroken, so she drank until she was drunk.
The next morning, when she woke up, she found herself in Michael’s bed, and both of them were naked.
What was done is done, and Michael had solemnly promised that he would treat her well. Besides, she liked Michael too.
From then on, Abbie and Michael were in a relationship. Her brother, Richard, had come to see her one time and found that Michael’s stuff was in her room, so he warned Michael in front of her.
Richard told Michael to stay away from her and said that he didn’t want trash like Michael to have his beloved sister.
To that, Michael jokingly asked Richard, “What if I like her and want to marry her?”
Richard had said that he would never agree and his sister deserved a better man, not Michael, who was a playboy.
Richard’s objection made Abbie very depressed, and right at this time, something even more depressing happened: Michael’s mother had arranged for the Clark family’s adopted daughter, Azalea to come and take care of Michael.
As soon as Azalea arrived, she boasted that she was Michael’s girlfriend and often showed off how good Michael was to her in front of Abbie and how much Michael’s mother liked her.
Azalea had also told Abbie that Michael didn’t only have her as his girlfriend. He had many women, and each of them had slept with him.
Abbie was shocked as she didn’t believe that Michael was such a person, but Azalea had taken her to witness Michael fooling around with other women.
When she opened the door and saw that scene, Abbie felt as if she had gone crazy.
She could not believe that she had fallen in love with such a thing. How could the person she wanted to be together with forever be this disgusting?
Abbie drove her car like a madwoman. The car was at shocking speed, and her heart was breaking into a million pieces at the same time. She crashed the car, and with a loud bang, she didn’t remember a thing.
She had lost all of her memories regarding Michael, and she had forgotten everything between them.
This was actually a good thing. She began to live a carefree life again, but fate arranged for her and Michael to start all over again.
How could this shameless man dare come near her again as if nothing had happened?
And she had fallen into his trap once again! Why was she so stupid and easy?
Those painful memories shook Abbie’s heart. She was in so much pain… It was so painful like she was about to explode.
Abbie opened his eyes in extreme pain, and what filled her eyes was a vast of white. It was too bright, so she closed her eyes again as a surprised female voice rang out from beside her ear. “Miss Clark! Miss Clark, you’re awake!”
Abbie opened her eyes and looked at the woman next to her as memories flooded her mind. She felt as if she was about to explode. “Ouch! It hurts! It hurts!”
Seeing the pain on Abbie’s face, the woman immediately pressed the bell. “Miss Clark, please hang on. I’ll call the doctor!”
The woman pressed the bell and called the doctor, who quickly came in and wanted Abbie to endure it. However, Abbie’s headache was too strong, so the doctor pushed her to the examination room to have a CT scan of her brain.
She lay in the room and heard the woman standing by her bed making a phone call. “Inform Mr. Floyd, Miss Clark is awake!”
Mr. Floyd? Leonard Floyd?
Suddenly, William’s face appeared in Abbie’s mind. As too many thoughts rushed into her mind at once, she had a headache and fainted again.
Meanwhile, Jacqueline had snatched Jacelyn’s pendant away and immediately rushed back to B City. When she met Evelyn, she handed the pendant to her as if she was presenting a treasure. “Miss, I got the pendant!”
Evelyn took the pendant and looked at it over and over again. It was an ordinary pendant with no words carved onto it. Evelyn had always thought that Bobby had given this to Jacelyn as a love token.
But Bobby was William’s closest bodyguard, so why did he give such a worthless thing to Evelyn?
This was unusual! Could it be that this pendant had nothing to do with Bobby?
Jacqueline looked at her carefully. “Miss, what are we going to do next?”
Evelyn did not answer but asked Jacqueline instead, “How is your sister now? Is her leg healed?”
“No! She’s paralyzed. She can only live in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.”
When Evelyn learned that Jacelyn could not stand up again, she shook her head in sympathy. She would rather Jacelyn’s legs were normal as before. Jacelyn was smarter than Jacqueline and was also Bobby’s savior. If Jacelyn was fine, she could use her instead.
Evelyn looked at Jacqueline and thought for a moment. “Take this pendant and find Bobby. Bawl your eyes out and admit that you are Jacqueline, not Jacelyn. Ask Bobby to forgive you for deceiving him, and then tell him that this pendant was given to you by your sister before she died and see how he reacts. If Bobby has feelings for your sister, take the opportunity to ask to stay by his side and let him take care of you on behalf of your sister.”
